Well ds2 has pain and nausea again this evening despite pain meds.
Sigh.
Do I keep on for 2 days with the pain meds or ask the Dr for the stronger med? (Pizotifen)

I'd go back to the doctors if he's no better tomorrow.

Glad ds2 is ok now issy, I bet he'll love showing off at scar to all his friends.

bads I AM NOT A DOCTOR disclaimer (durrr). However...pizotifen isnt a pain reliever per se iirc, its a migraine prophylactic (preventative.) so I dont think it will help relieve the current migraine attack. if taken regularly it can reduce the number of attacks.

When I used to take it, it gave me some annoying side effects - made me very drowsy and also totally constipated (nice.) And didnt make much difference to the migraines tbh. However everyone is different, etc etc.

So are they definite its migraine then? Will they be doing more tests to make sure?

If I were you, Id keep on with the normal pain meds...if it is migraine youre probably going to just have to wait til the end of the attack really. Shouldnt be long now - a day or two?

The Dr has given me a letter/discharge form so I could hopefully get the meds without taking Ds?

Yes.
abdominal migraine is a bit different from "normal" migraine afaik. I used to get hemiplegic migraines after I had ds1 (they were fun!) but after the initial pain and sometimes a vomit he is ok.
He has been fine all day!
Sigh.
So hard to know what to do...I am normally a Very decisive person, honestly! But with my kids I don't see able to think logically at times...(1 hour of sleep last night didn't help...:()

Sorry, yes they did bloods which they said werw fine and he is going to have an abdo ultrasound.
That's all they can do really I guess :(

Try not to worry too much now, get a good sleep tonight, and see how he is tomorrow. If he's still in pain, take him back in and dont feel guilty about it - there's a good reason to get him seen again!

Evening all

First day back was ok, not too many "I went to the park" stories. sparkle, my morning routine is shoddy, and as follows...
6.40 - alarm goes off. I jump a mile. Press snooze.
6.50 - Not sure how I fell back asleep. Jump up this time. Swear at cracking bones.
6.55- enter shower. Decide if it's hair wash morning or batiste morning.
7.00 - go downstairs. Make coffee in travel mug. Assemble lunches.
7.10 - throw clothes on. Apply Jess' miracle face stuff. Brush hair.
7.15 - kiss DC and rarely DH.
7.20 - set off, often with wet hair.
8.00 - arrive at school. Brush hair/shove in a bobble.
8.05 - stare at random resources. Lob stuff onto tables.
8.15 - have a well-deserved coffee break
8.30 - gossip with colleagues
8.35 - let the little fuckerz children in.
Rock in the corner.

It is much better with sound helen - but don't expect anything sophisticated
