He was the architect designing a new building for the art gallery I used to work for. We had a drunken snog at the works Xmas party and that was that.

We met in an indie club called the Krazy House in 1995 in Liverpool we'd hung around together in a group for quite a while and I fancied his best mate! We got talking one night about death of all things as I realised I had gone to college with one of his old schoolfriends who had been killed a few months before in a hit and run. We snogged that night and then the next time I saw him he was with gorgeous girl it turned out it was his sister and he asked me out that night and we've been together ever since. I also managed to fix my friend up with his best mate and they're still together (live the next road down from us) I definately picked the right friend in the end.

expatinscotland · 25/09/2006 09:21

I needed a place to crash whilst I backpacked around and a friend knew him and that he wanted a lodger.

The rest is history.

I'm nearly 7 years older than he is.

Dottydot · 25/09/2006 09:24

We met when we were 13 and both started working in the same corner shop on a Sunday - we grew up round the corner from each other.

Then went to the same sixth form college, then lost touch, but then got back in touch a couple of years later through a mutual friend.

Then finally when we were 23 got together!

I met my husband at his leaving party!!! Lost distance relationship started and the rest as they say is history

DumbledoresGirl · 25/09/2006 09:27

Met at Geneva airport going on the same mountain hutting holiday in the Alps. he was walking off the plane in front of me and I fancied him even before I knew he was on the same holiday as me! Have never looked back from the moment we met. Somewhere, my old life is lying where I left it, gathering huge piles of dust

Medulla · 25/09/2006 09:27

That would be "long" distance relationship

hitchcock · 25/09/2006 09:29

i was living with his brother and we had just had a baby (dd1),and me and dp werent getting on at all,th,we never had!i left dp and stayed at his dads, were his brother was staying whilst on his visit from germany.

we got on straight away and 2 weeks later i packed my bags, and the kids, and went to live with him in germany!

weve had our ups and downs,we split up after eing married for 3 weeks, got divorced and got married again!!(cant live without each other!!)

funny thing is,i get on with ex dp now that we dont live with each other, and theres never been any animosity between him and dh.

CheesyFeet · 25/09/2006 09:38

Jura, my dh was my boss too! I'd been working for this company for a while but had just been promoted and moved to a new site, a couple of weeks later he was headhunted to run the site. Neither of us knew anyone in the area so we stuck together. We hit it off straight away but it took him a couple of months to pluck up the courage to hit on me! I was too shy to make the first move myself.

iota · 25/09/2006 09:39

a work ( where apparently 50% of people meet their other half)

iota · 25/09/2006 09:40

LieselVonTrapp · 25/09/2006 09:41

My friend asked me to come to a barbecue at this guys house that she had been after for years. I knew noone and was reluctant to go but hey. I was th only vegetarian so brought my own veggie burgers and this really obnoxious guy (DH) started slagging me off and asking about the "tree hugging hippy". I was having none of thsi and he pursued me for six months!!! I eventually gave in one night when I was pissed but he said he wouldnt take advantage of pissed woman. I was quite impressed with that.

NatalieJane · 25/09/2006 09:44

We met on the internet... not a dating site, just a chatroom that used to be run by Freeserve years ago.

He was 30 I was 17(!!!) he lived up north, I lived down south... 6 weeks after we met for the first time, he moved down south and we got a flat together, 6 weeks after that we got engaged, and 6 weeks after that we eloped to Scotland to get married! All very romantic We will have been married for 6 years in December, we already have our DS, and another on the way (due November ) and I wouldn't change any of it for the world!

alexsmum · 25/09/2006 09:47

bakedpotato · 25/09/2006 09:52

Weekend at mutual friend's house in the country, the rest of the group had gone out on a boat, I wanted to finish my book so I stayed behind.
Someone turned up late, he'd been to a wedding en route. I remember hearing the wheels on the gravel, and being really grumpy that I had to get off my bed and go downstairs and talk to a stranger.

zephyrcat · 25/09/2006 09:56

My dp was my boss too... Iused to go and meet my ex for lunch in the pub where dp was landlord and I decided to go for a job there. Was love at first sight when I went for my intervbiew but he was living with his girlfriend and their ds.... until I came along

We joined the same team a few months later and i only knew who he was when he started talking to me coz i recognised his voice. We were both going out with other people but wanted to be together, now 2 years later live together with our ds and are getting married
