Some fantastic news has been posted on sky news in last hour: -

Richard's Move

So it seems that the news just gets better and better. I am still keeping everything crossed though.

StrawberryMoon · 23/09/2006 20:23

very strange, but i had a dream last night that richard and me were waiting for an alien king to release scoobydoo, daphne, velma, fred and shaggy from thier ship!
they came flying out and richard grabbed me and said dont worry its going to be alright and ill be up and about before you know it!!!

Plus the news is also great from the Air Ambulance appeal launched by Petrolheads.com after the accident - the total is now at £70,997.50!!

The link for this charity is further down, but just incase here it is again for you. Of course, alternatively you could also donate to your local air ambulance appeal instead as they all do sterling work to save lives - Richard is living and breathing proof of that :-)

Charity

KolinEdwoodBarnz · 24/09/2006 09:25

This message is aimed Specifically at self opinionated people such as Ruty, Tutter, Teeny B., Fattiemuma, who feel they have a right to insult or criticize me.

My message was not a joke, it was one of concern. Whether the last thing on his mind was whether his helmet was safe or secure.

I have some experience in dangerous driving and and resulting accidents. I speak because I understand, such things. I am not some self indulgent interfering busy bodies as thos previously mentioned.

The fact that you though my comment was a joke says a lot more about you then it does about me.

How dare you!!!

I am very sympathetic to Mr Hammond and his family. Dare I say empathize; as I have known fatalities, due to similar instances.

Blandmum · 24/09/2006 09:34

hmmmm. I can smell something.

Sheep? Is it Sheep? No.

Horses? Is it horses?

No. I think it is bulls. That is it, Bulls. Bullshit.

'joke' wnnt down badly and frantic and exceptionaly unbelieveable backpeddling

KEB how can even try and justfify your pathetic'joke' as a concerned comment? Do you think we were all born yesterday and havn't heard that same 'joke' before?

aDAdOnMumsnet · 24/09/2006 09:46

I have to agree, quite clearly it WAS an attempt at a joke.

satine · 24/09/2006 09:52

KEB apparently has a poor sense of humour and a lack of moral courage. Nice bloke.

fattiemumma · 24/09/2006 09:55

but thats just it, he is a very small boy who has yet to discover that jokes mad in bad taste and offend people are bad enough but to try and use cowardice by denying it was a joke at all.....it just makes you pond slime.

as he reaches puberty he will realise its better to simply admit your mistake and apologise.

never mind KEB, only another 3-4 years hey!

KolinEdwoodBarnz · 24/09/2006 10:08

For the information of Fattiemuma and the rest of you, I would like to point something out.

  1. I am not a man, I am a married woman with three children.

  2. Kolin was my brother, who we lost last year in an accident involving Stock cars: so I have some understanding. He suffered severe head trauma and died a few days later in hospital.

3)My comment was made because the correct crash helmets are emphasized; therefore my comment (not a joke) about crash helmets.

I feel your comments are unnecessary and hurtful. We are still mourning his loss in such a tragic way. So please, it isn't fair for you to have a go at me, over a misunderstandin and interpretation..it really is hurtful.

Previously on Richard Hammond injured in car crash...

Kolin made an inappropriate joke about whether or not the last thing going through Hammond's mind was his crash helmet. Kolin got told off. Kolin tried to back-pedal frantically. MN'ers told him off again. Kolin got upset. FM was having none of it and called him a pathetic little tosser. The rest of Mumsnet agreed, sent Kolin to his room and banned him from using the Nintendo for ONE week.

In next week's episode: Kolin gets caught smoking behind the bike sheds.

fattiemumma · 24/09/2006 10:39

PMSL willow.

maybe he didn't posttill this morning as it was passed his bedtime.

mother of 3 indeed

Yay! got to use it

Twinkie1 · 24/09/2006 10:42

Think the comment was meant as a joke (so stop backpeddling) but to be honest it was no worse than ones about Steve Irwin or Princess Diana after she died.

Ok may have been a bit insensitive posting it but there were just as bad ones on the Steve Irwin thread and he died FGS!!!

And I really think Richard Hammond would have chuckled to this from what I have heard about his sense of humour!!!

willow2 · 24/09/2006 10:42

Stop lurking Kol and go and have your shreddies.

willow2 · 24/09/2006 10:43

Of course it was a joke - think what's annoying other Mn'ers is Kolin's rather weak attempt at back-pedalling.

hunkermunker · 24/09/2006 10:44

Was Edwood his middle name?

Twinkie1 · 24/09/2006 10:48

Well if she is new maybe she was a bit shocked, scared and taken aback and tried to right what she had said.
