By the way, what's a hollywood?

apparently, is when wax it all off (everything at the front and everywhere else). there'd no comprehensive terminology list on google for this kind of stuff. and then, what is that a nose wax? can't quite imagine how it's done.

happy1 · 20/05/2004 15:46

So am I right in thinking that a brazilian is everything off except a strip at the front? Oh my god, I started this thread and I'm know confused as to what a brazilian actually is!

OP posts:
Branster · 20/05/2004 16:03

that is the question.
as i understand they all include the bikini line.
a brazilian involves removing all the hair around the private bit.
a playboy is a brazilian extended to the back side
a holywood is everything off.
could this be right???

happy1 · 20/05/2004 16:21

That does make sense. That is what I thought, so at least I won't be in for any shocks on saturday

lipstick and happy1---- details! details.

happy1 · 30/05/2004 10:26

Well it did hurt, but not as much as I thought! And it wasn't too embarrassing as she was chating to take my mind off it. My dp thought it was wonderful and he couldn't thank me enough, IYSWIM

OK, I had mine done last Monday and am still recovering
Only kidding, it wasn't as bad as I had imagined. I found the part below my belly button to be the most sensitive and painful rather than the bits that one might think. Some of the hair in that vicinity is also quite stubborn which I hadn't anticipated!!
Felt very strange the first day or 2, very strange indeed. Now I quite like it, but don't think I'll make it a regular appointment.
Oh, and I wasn't embarrassed, you just can't be really lol

HiddenSpirit · 30/05/2004 11:24

I'm due to go back in just over a week, but still very little regrowth so far

happy1, Claire (girl who did mine) was the same, just chatted away asking about family etc so didn't feel embarrassed at all.

One thing I have found is if I didn't moisturise every day or 2 (I use baby oil ) then the skin got a bit dry and itchy, but cleared up as soon as I put oil back on it.

lou33 · 30/05/2004 11:33

How much does it cost for a Brazilian?

HiddenSpirit · 30/05/2004 12:23

Mine cost £7.50 lou, but a few have said that was cheap May have been as it wasn't a "shop" that I had mine done. I actually went to her house, although she will come to you as well.

LipstickMum · 30/05/2004 12:39

Mine was £20, but in a salon.

Hiddenspirit/Lipstickmum, whereabouts are you then? Big difference in prices!

kalex · 30/05/2004 20:11

Mine was £32.50 and I had to travel 60 miles

HiddenSpirit · 30/05/2004 20:15

I'm in Plymouth Lou

lou33 · 30/05/2004 20:24

£32.50! I am too tight to pay that! Maybe I will stick to shaving .

lou33 · 30/05/2004 20:25

I'm nowhere near you then HS. Shame, 7.50 is a much nicer price!

happy1 · 30/05/2004 20:53

Mine cost £15 including my leg wax. I'm in South Wales so I would expect it to be cheaper!!

missed the additions to this thread!!

32.50!!! surely you could get a full body wax for that!!

LipstickMum · 31/05/2004 16:10

£20 here in Oxford, I wouldn't want to pay much more for it.

starry · 31/05/2004 17:06

I DIY it - dead cheap if you get the tub of sugaring stuff from Body Shop about £10 and has lasted me a year, and the cotton strips are about 2.50 and you just wash them so can be used over and over again. A bit of practice is all you need and hey ladies, it's nothing compared to childbirth eh?

lou33 · 31/05/2004 19:20

I might look into that then Starry, thanks.
