The concept meeting probably went: 'Hey, let's make these things really heavy, loads heavier than other cars. And make them higher too, so they hit kids right in the head. I'm sure there's a market among child-hating selfish gits.'

Who cares? It's individual choice and there's Lebanon to worry about. And after all, it's not your child is it, so what's the problem?

ok, fair enough, but isn't someone in an MPV going 40 more dangerous than me in my 4x4 going 30? Or someone in a Micra chatting on their phone (which I NEVER do)?? Can we sticker those people too ??

There are lots of dangers out there, I think this anti 4x4 thing is a bit of class warfare too, not just a safety/eco issue.

the problem is that people buy them because THEY feel safer

that means they don't DRIVE as carefully

that means that they are a bigger RISK to other people

If you don't believe me, just try cycling in heavy traffic and seeing how much more careful you are than when you are sitting behind your big fat truck

I was going to get rid of my 4x4 for all the reasons stated in the 3-4 threads currently running on this - but due to the absolute barrage of insults I have got, I am going to continue, and maybe upgrade to a Hummer!!!

I agree with jazzy and canadianmum, I don't see why I shouldn't drive my 4x4. I have paid for it, just becuase you can't afford one there is no need to be jealous
