hilarious I love the fact that they look like parking tickets for each borough (but that they haven't done Richmond}

Well having lived in a crappy area, away from all my family, where I had no car, a baby, PND and was afraid to go outside becasue someone mugged me on my own front door step, I am grateful that my parents now offer me the use of a car so I can get about.

And my job was not just "given to me. I have worked all my life for other people, I only went to work for them when their previous secretary decided not to return from her maternity leave and gave them less than a week's notice.

What a horrible comment MP, you have no idea. Who says my parents are rich. They happen to own a caravan which gives them the chance to take cheap holidays, far better than spending thousands going abroad. They are sucessful know, but spent many years working like slaves for very little reward just to keep us fed and clothed. So what if they own a 4x4 and so what if I sometimes use it to collect my daughter from school.

GET A LIFE you sad person.

jampots · 13/07/2006 16:59

Actually wherther you like it or not MP Julietnetmum has a very valid point. How can you judge a person simply by the car she/he drives? It may or may not belong to them and if she's rich or her family are so frigging what - none of your business. Possibly richer people on MN already whose arses you glue yourselves up

nicnack2 · 13/07/2006 17:05

my mpv has traction control which allows it to move better through snow etc which alot do, will we be targetted next i wonder?

3mum · 13/07/2006 17:08

There are enough bullies in the world already without mums turning on other mums over something as superficial as their car surely.

CountessDracula · 13/07/2006 17:11

who says we are targeting mums?

It is anyone who thinks it is ok to drive a gas guzzling, road hogging vehicle when it isn't necessary.

I am getting humpy about the fact that you lot don't give a toss about the environment or the safety of pedestrians. I DON'T think that that is a superficial issue at all.

I don't care if you are a mum or not, rich or poor, I think you should be more considerate in your choice of vehicle

CountessDracula · 13/07/2006 17:12

in fact the 4x4 drivers are the bullies of the road if you want to talk about bullying

Cd was gonna say all that but you did it for me

jampots · 13/07/2006 17:14

My car is lpg converted CD so is green etc does that make it ok?

CountessDracula · 13/07/2006 17:14

oh god lisalisa if you can't see that a bloody great landcruiser with a bull bar is a danger to pedestrians then I shan't even bother to enter into a conversation with you

OP posts:
jampots · 13/07/2006 17:15

lisalisa - i think she means the pedestrians on the road not actually on the pavement

CountessDracula · 13/07/2006 17:15

I have no idea what your car is jampots

If it is for eg a landcruiser then no, it still shouldn't be in London it is dangerous

OP posts:
julienetmum · 13/07/2006 17:16

Fine then, I'll do as you say, I won't drive any vehicle. I'll just stay stuck indoors, unable to get my dd to nursery, unable to get to work and staring at 4 walls all day every day, like I used to.

I've had enough, this is bringing back too many bad memories of the hell my life was when dd was a baby. Can't be bothered with this patheticness anymore and I don't care that patheticness isn't a proper word.

Next time you go abroad on holiday think of all the harm you are doing to the environment with the aviation fuel, not to mention the damage to previously unspoilt areas by tourists. I'm content with my caravan in a field thank you.

jampots · 13/07/2006 17:16

it is a Discovery and I cant bear London so havent been in about 15 years

CountessDracula · 13/07/2006 17:17

Julie, if it is upsetting you then don't post

OP posts:
CountessDracula · 13/07/2006 17:17

julietnetmum - really dont be silly now, unless you are in London they cant "get you" .

As for the plane argument, I wholeheartedly agree however the pedal pushers will say thats not as valid argument etc

CountessDracula · 13/07/2006 17:18

as neither of you are in London I can't see why you are getting your knickers in such a twist anyway!

OP posts:
CountessDracula · 13/07/2006 17:19

right I must WALK round to dd's nursery and pick her up now.

OP posts:
jampots · 13/07/2006 17:20

could it be because you have been banging on about this and the sort of people who drive them for ages?

CountessDracula · 13/07/2006 17:21

yy but aimed at people who drive them in London.

You can do what you want in the cuntry I don't give a toss!

OP posts:
julienetmum · 13/07/2006 17:22

Good that you have a nursery to walk to jampots. The council closed down my local one.

julienetmum · 13/07/2006 17:23

sorry jampots, I meant CD. Rellay must walk away now I can;t even read properly.
