marymay · 22/07/2006 10:40

hi anyone going to the casting for the marks and spencers commercial on monday

tavalana · 22/07/2006 10:42

Maybe next time YummyMummy21

My son is nearly 3 and it's been very quiet for him so I asked the agency and they said they're confident it's only a phase and it should pick up soon.

ellesmum · 22/07/2006 11:15

has anyone got a child of 2 years with kids london, have they had a reasinable amount of castings work. interested to know as my 2 year old has just joined with them. thanks

lindac · 22/07/2006 14:27

Hi all
i got my registration pack from bubble gum
its £25 joining fee and £110 for photo's for the model book(yearly)and they are sole rep

has anybody had any experience with bizzykidz they charge £94(one of fee) to join and keep them on the books till they are 17...they are not sole rep

both have accepted my dd and im pretty worried about doing the wrong thing
both sound very professional

tavalana · 22/07/2006 15:03

my son was also accepted by both agencies, i haven't decided what to do yet but i only heard bad feedback about bizzy kidz plus i don't agree with the e-mail they send out to the applicants saying they are so selective that just by being accepted means that there will be work for your child. i'm still waiting to hear from kids london. have you tried them?

ellesmum · 22/07/2006 15:12

i also have heard alot of kids dont get work from bizzy kids some must do but the majority dont maybe cos so many kids on their books. i also got my reg pack from bubblegum today it looked very good although £110 for photos is a bit much but ive heard good things about bubblegum, i prob would have gone with them if my daughter wasnt accepted by kids london, who ive just sighned up with. with kids london u only pay £25 and thats it the proffesional photos are opitional. try kids london they are very good.

lindac · 22/07/2006 15:13

i have sent pic's to kids london but not got an answer yet
norrie car said no to many with her style
bruce brown havent got back to me yet
rascals, bizzykidz, childsplay, modelsdirect, and bubblegum all said yes
its a hard choice isnt it

lindac · 22/07/2006 15:15

are kids london sole rep ?
i will ring them monday and chase them up
thank you

ellesmum · 22/07/2006 15:26

yes kids london are sole rep and they took quite a while 2 awnser me too i had to ring them a few times to chase them up, bruce and brown still havent replied yet dont know why they take ages but kids london are just as good as bruce and brown, i spoke to alot of mums whos kids were with kids london and they said that they have never heard a bad word against them and all their kids have had heaps of work. one mum showed me the work her baby got through them and it was fab. it is hard to decide ive just been through the same so i know how u feel. my daughter was also accepted by rascals but they are way too expensive.

ellesmum · 22/07/2006 15:29

what ever you do do not go anywhere near models direct they are a con and have been named and shamed on watchdog.

lindac · 22/07/2006 15:31

yes they are very expensive so are childsplay i have had very bad feedback about models direct aswell so that has scaled it down a bit
will defo cahse bb and kl on monday and wait and see what they say and take it from there x

lindac · 22/07/2006 15:34

thanks ellesmum thats what i have been told re MD would not have known that if i hadnt come on to musnet everyones been realy helpfull

only prob is now modelsdirect are phoning and emailing me all the time !!

ellesmum · 22/07/2006 15:44

im sure you will make the right decision how old is your child?

ellesmum · 22/07/2006 15:48

models direct did that to me aswell i applyed to them a few years ago, big mistake, in the end i had to tell them straight if u dont they dont give up.

Tobleronechoc · 22/07/2006 15:49

if its of any help my ds is with KL and they are great and had regular work. I have seen kids from BK at most of the jobs he's done, so can vouch for them too. Don't know anything about the others though so can't comment.

lindac · 22/07/2006 15:55

she is 11 did modeling when she was young but got to that age where they wont stand still and she wasnt happy doing it so i stopped now she is doing drama she wants to get back into it the agency she was with Truly scrumptious was good but again very expensive to join
she is on the bma website as thats a one of £35 shes had a few casting and a couple of jobs but they are few and far between so thought id look into more and what they offer
i have heard good and bad on most agency's so i just ned to weigh it all up i suppose x

ellesmum · 22/07/2006 16:04

im syre she will do well which ever agency you choose. good luck

Tobleronechoc · 22/07/2006 16:13

most of the agencies charge fees so it is hard. I notice people try to avoid the fees and go with cheaper and newer agencies only to find they get no or little work from them. Best to keep to the bigger and longer established agencies. THe longer they have been going then the more the liklihood that clients use them, regardless of what the other agencies might say to you if you ask them.

Good luck!

tavalana · 22/07/2006 16:15

how old is your son and how long he's been with kids london?

tavalana · 22/07/2006 16:18

i think elisabeth smith is one the oldest agencies yet my friend's son has been with them for a year and had no work only a few castings. i don't think it's only about how long the agency has been established, take urban angels for example, everybody here speaks highly of them and they opened only a few years ago.
