Hi

OP posts:

Bet you are all tired this morning- seems like this thread went on long last night.

Hope you are all getting lots of jobs at the moment,

Just to clarify the reason we are going with Truly Scrumptious on Sat is because a lot of the cheaper fee agencies wouldn't accept my children. I tried lots of teh top agencies for them to say No. My kids looks are not everyones choice which I understand. So I decided to go with ones which did charge fees yet do seem to get the work. I don't mind paying out if they get work back from it. Basically I got feedback from my friends whose kids are models with different agencies to see what agencies were at the shoots that they went on and TS were one of the names repeated. Hense me being very hopeful for Sat. My ds has been accepted on his assesment with Norrie Carr aswell and if TS doesn't go well (I am sure it will be fine) we will go with them. I emailed evryone initially (maybe not the best photos) yet I tried them all and chose which i think was the better ones out of the lot. Hopefully I have done the right thing. If not I will only learn from it. My Ds was with Scallywags last year mayb eI would go back to them if it doesn't work with another agent who knows. Anyway I will stop rambling on!I just wanted to explain.

mimi1uk · 11/07/2006 09:34

julie 4 travel, a lady at my baby groups little baby girl is with truely scrumptious and has had a fair few casting, and i have seen there name at castings also

tigeryuan · 11/07/2006 09:34

mimi1uk - i still havent see your adv!

julie4travel · 11/07/2006 09:43

mimi- fingers crossed that that take my two, I haven't heard anything negative on TS so you never know. The only downpoint is that their photoshoot is not till Oct so everything seems to be taking so long at moment. Bearing in mind I started looking at different agencies back in March before we moved yet didn't want to make a decision until we were all settled.

I haven't seen the advert on TV either. Mainly because I think our tele seems to always be on Nick Junior (my daughter Dora mad) or stuff like Jetix for my son! hardly seem to watch tele nowadays. Plus I work from home so its so easy to start working again if the kids are in bed asleep etc. Might aswell take the buisness whilst its busy I suppose!

mimi1uk · 11/07/2006 09:58

how funny

mimi1uk · 11/07/2006 09:58

i got a lot of listings dome on ebay tho,, which is good clear out the clutter

julie4travel · 11/07/2006 10:08

Mimi- i did a listing for 1 item on ebay the other day for our sofa purely as a quickie as my new sofa was getting delivered and i was worried i would have 4 sofas in my living room. I started it at 4.99 to purely get rid of it and my husband decided he wanted more money and bidded on it under his ID. I said i just wanted it shot why did he bid and guess what Ebay suspend us both as he bidded on it to increase the price. I wasn't impressed as he hadn't told me he had done it. My id had a nice amount of feedback only to go to waste. It says I maybe able to get it reinstated if i appeal after a week or so. Thank god i wasn't listing loads of stuff. When i was on maternity leave i put loads on to give me the extra bit of cash to compensate my loss of earnings! It says something about not starting up a new id whilst this process going on etc!

mimi1uk · 11/07/2006 10:10

oh dear thats not good what a nightmare bet u r kicking yourfselves now

julie4travel · 11/07/2006 10:20

mimi- i wouldn't mind as much if i had wanted to bid on the item yet my hubbie did it without even telling me, i weren't impressed when he told me!

i brought a family railcard for sats appointment. our tickets would have been 47 pounds yet i got them for 27 using a railcard and teh railcard cost me 20 quid. so paid the same yet have it for the future to save us a third on the train tictets. Should have brought it earlier as i paid a lot for the tickets when we went to cs appointment and norrie carrs! will have to hope they get lots of work so i benefit from the cheap train tickets!

housemum · 11/07/2006 10:24

Good morning - what happened here last night? I miss a night and it all kicked off!! Hope you are all having a good morning so far - OK, I'm newish to MN but have posted somewhere down this thread. I'm the one with youngest DD with Norrie Carr, age 3, not much work for some time (in fact nothing since a casting for a film part in Feb, though she had chickenpox in the meantime which took a while to clear). She's in Mother and Baby mag this month with a pic from a session last year. Anyway, here's to a good day - I have a list of chores to accomplish, and maybe some will actually get started when I stop typing...

julie4travel · 11/07/2006 10:33

housemum- seems that your little ds has had some work from Norrie carr though. A lot of agencies didn't want to touch my dd as she is just coming up three so at that age they prefer not to take on. I am being really hopeful for her on sat with TS. Do you like Norrie carr as an agent? I thought the lady at the assesment was pleasant and nice and some people had warned me that they thought the staff looked down their noses at you. I never found that. They want my ds who has just turned 6 to join them yet if sats appointment with TS is good and they want both my kids i will probably go with them as its easier both kids being on the same books. If they say no to my dd then I am in the dilema TS or NC. then it will be decision time! Have you been with NC for a while?

mimi1uk · 11/07/2006 10:47

off out now for a while have a good morning x

princessmel · 11/07/2006 10:48

Please help! I can't decide what to do about my Rascals interview. Its today at 5pm and I don't think i'm going to be able to go now. I collect a boy from school and the meeting is going to clash with his cubs etc. If he was my son he could miss it for once or go with Nanny etc but he's not, nobody else can cover for me. Also I'm not sure if i actually want to go with Rascals as everyone keeps saying to go with the agencies that don't charge much or at all. Unfortunatly, Mot said no and I'm waiting to hear from B abd B. Its the wrong time for UA .
Should I give Rascals a chance ( even though i don't know how I'll make it to the interview) or hold out for a cheaper agency? HELP!!!!! To make me even more confused DH only wants me to go with a cheaper one as we've been ripped of in the past (not with modelling) and he doesn't want it happen again.

julie4travel · 11/07/2006 10:48

mimi- bye

Strawb- spoke to Cs in theory the updated website should be live tommorow so fingers crossed. I haven't seen him on Spotlight yet! yet that supposed to take three weeks from receiving teh forms i think

mrratty · 11/07/2006 10:50

My family railcard is used really frequently, it must have paid for itself three timeover since I bougt it a couple of months ago!
