I wish! No I am the parent of a child on their books, who is happy with them and trying to help other parents with queries. I am hardly advertising them anyway, just trying to help. Does this mean that anyone that says something bad about them could be from another agency trying to sabotage them....the mind boggles!!

I think I will call them on Monday and tell them about this website, cos if you think about it anyone could sign in and put what they want and some people are gullable (probably spelt wrong!!) enough to take everything in. My sister was ripped off by an agency for nearly £300 pounds last year and no-one has mentioned them anywhere so it does make you wonder if half of what has been written is real? All I know is I've had work and I don't care what other people think. I wouldnt want them to get a bad name though cos that could affect my D and work.

Good idea! I might tell them to do that..

JBMUM · 12/02/2005 20:34

You've just given me an idea, I might re-apply for that job.....I'll tell them about this first though. You never know it might help!

What everyone is still forgetting is that the photographic studios are not looking for the most prettiest child but one that works well hence that is why agencies interview. I went on a job with my d and all they had to do was sit on a bed and smile. One baby was not able to do that and ended up jumping up and down and fidgeting in the end that baby had to be sent home and the studio was angry cos they still had to pay for that baby even though he had the looks but not the behaviour. I am not saying that they are looking for angels but they need children/babies that they can work with. I am with ES and yes I paid the money but you have to remember they have been going for 40 years and were the first child model agency. Also my d made her money back and more in the first 2 weeks of joining. She is not the prettiest but she is very sociable and photogenic. By the way is anyone going to the audition in EC1 2morrow ???

JBMUM · 13/02/2005 22:56

It depends what job it is really. With photographic work then that is obvious really but mine did the bbc christmas advert (one with the children jumping around on christmas pudding space hoppers) and that was filmed with 40 different kids all just playing and enjoying themselves. There were loads of bizzykidz kids used on that shoot and they were all interviewed in the way bizzykidz do it and they got work, so they must be doing something right? And they didn't charge me an interview fee to join. ES might have been going for 40 years, but they aren't the only agency to get work. It is a matter of preference really I suppose.

kazza3 · 14/02/2005 13:54

I only asked cos if anyone else was going on Sunday I could have met up with them.

scorpio69 · 14/02/2005 19:27

MUM007 · 15/02/2005 13:10

Hi Kazza are you just with ES or have you been with BK as well.My D is 7she has just gone with BK.Just waiting to send license details off and then I suppose its just waiting to see if anything comes up.Have read a lot of good things about them on this site.Wondered if you had been with them b4

kazza3 · 15/02/2005 16:03

No havent been with BK only ES which has been good but my little one is only 1 months and I know ES has a good reputation for babies. BK as been mentined b4 their kids have appeared on adverts which is great but photo work is your bread and butter cos there's more of it. The only thinng that worries me about BK is the number of people who have signed up but not received work whereas ES I have seen lots of their babies on phot shoots and they have at least earned their money back which they paid out and more. Would be interesting to find out how many ES kids dont ever get work compared to BK. But I do it for the experience and fun...dont ever do it for the money.

kazza3 · 15/02/2005 16:03

Sorry meant to say 11 months not 1

MUM007 · 15/02/2005 17:18

Oh so there has been a lot signed up with no work this is what worries me.I know an agency cant guarantee work for these kids but i went with BK because they promoted their low number of kids on their books. Was accepted by ES as well so hope I havent picked the wrong one.Chose BK because my D attends a stage school and was more interested in TV work than photographic.I must admit have been quite concerned of the number of people on here who say they have just signed up with BK.I would rather my D be turned down than sat on their books for ages with nothing.

sammy2kids · 16/02/2005 01:14

Hi.Is anyone or do you know of anyone who's child is with Models Direct? My daughter has been on their books since december. I signed up for a 3 year contract,as this package seemed to offer a better deal for the money than just a 1 year contract i.e more pictures to show interested companies etc.Just interested to know if anyone with this agency has had a good amount of work.

MUM007 · 16/02/2005 08:56

If you look further down the thread on here Models Direct have not got a good write up at all.Someone has mentioned that Watchdog have them on their website for their scams.Look quite a way back on here to read more

kazza3 · 16/02/2005 10:34

JBMUM raves about BK but from wot work her little one got ie. CBBC ad he/she is alot older than mine. I am with ES and have been busy like you said they cant guarantee work but ES reject 95% of children/babies. How old is your little one ?

MUM007 · 16/02/2005 11:48

My D is 7.I dont know whether that will make a difference.Am still waiting for them to reply to my email re license so until then i suppose things wont move along anyway.

natsy · 16/02/2005 17:31

what other agencies would you reccommend my son is with bk i have tried applying to bruce and brown and also scallywags but was turned down .
does anyone know of any good ones .
also could anyone tell me if there are any open castings for babies ,do they happen often ?
i sometimes look out in the stage newspaper does any one know of any other newspapers with audtions in them?

Dahlia · 16/02/2005 17:59

Stay away from Models Direct!!!!! I signed up with them for a 3 year contract, never heard once from them. Total swizz.

woodchild · 16/02/2005 18:18

nasty- why are you looking for more agencies? are bk no good?

zocha · 16/02/2005 20:13

My son is with Bizzykidz agency and I cannot say anything against them at all. Elisabeth Smith concentrate more on photographic work and yes they may be busy, but so is my agency. We have had loads of work and most of it has been photographic so I don't really understand the majority of the comments in this thread. Most seem to be voicing opinions and not speaking on experience. I have also just gone onto both websites and counted the kids. Elisabeth Smith has loads more than Bizzykidz AND charge yearly fees, so make more money from people joining than Bizzykidz do for sure. I have been with BK for 3 years and only paid a fee to get set up and nothing else, and that fee was much less than the others charge every year, so I can't complain at all. And like the other mum, my son has earned our money back many times over (not that this was my motive of course!).
