Tinkerbellechelle: How does it work with rascals then? I see that you have had a few castings from them already which is excellent if they don't officially represent you until december......must make your decision harder! Good luck

tinkerbellchelle · 24/10/2005 21:19

Yeah I mean I think we were only put forward as they didnt have anyone else suitable. As my contract doesnt start till dec time and we havent actually paid any joining fee's then Im in a position where I can change my mine and Im starting to def think I will as I emailed bizzykidz asking about contracts they have and some other questions and they got back to me this evening at half past 7 which I think is brilliant!
They seem a fantastic agency.

cadburygirl · 25/10/2005 19:04

I'm new to this thread. Have been watching it for a while and thanks for sharing all your experiences. It's really good to get honest opinions about what the industry is like.

My dd has been accepted by Bizzykidz and Elisabeth Smith. Really pleased but not sure which one to go for as there seems to be lots of positive comments about both of them.

Anyone with Elisabeth Smith? Are they any good?

tinkerbellchelle · 25/10/2005 20:16

I think from what I have read ES is much more photographic work and BK is more TV work.
My baby boy has been offered a place with BizzyKidz,we did apply to ES but they said they dont have room for his look as they have a very similar baby.
I think that both have had some really good positive comments.
I have to say I have had some questions which I asked Bizzykidz and they were so so helpful towards me and I feel very confident if we go with them we will be happy.

We had previously been accepted by rascals but I just didnt get a good feel and relationship with the team, and after having such a great response and help from bizzykidz it sort of changed my mind.

Hope in some way this helps xx

hahahehe · 25/10/2005 23:18

Cadburygirl: They are both excellent, reputable agencies and both deal with the same lines of work. At the end of the day if a casting director has a 'look' in mind they will try all of the agencies until they get it. So it is a case of who YOU feel most comfortable with. If you read the posts on here alot of people don't get accepted to ES!!!
Afterthought....I know NEXT use ES and ANGELINA mag use BK! Don't know if any of that helps!

cadburygirl · 26/10/2005 08:13

Thanks guys, that's very helpful. It sounds like eveyone is really happy with Bizzykidz (apart from FlorenceFlying but hey there's always one!). I think the fact that they take your child on until they are 17 is tempting.

I think I'll go for the appointment at ES anyway just to see what I think.

Tinkerbell - hope it goes well with BK. I think you picked the right one the two.

tinkerbellchelle · 26/10/2005 09:52

Thank you cadbury girl and the same back to you, I hope which ever choice you make it will be the right one for you.
HAHAHEHE thank you for your advice lately you've been brill.
I think its good at the moment that the conversation is ok and we are able to help each other in a good way

Good luck to us all and lets stay in touch and see how things get on x

DizzyD · 26/10/2005 21:42

hahahehe: yes we are "oop north" (York) so Eurokids & Adults would be a good location for us - they are in Cheshire. Unfortunately my DS with the future modelling career took a tumble at nursery yesterday so I spent 3 hours in casualty with him whilst they glued his head back together! He is completely fine but he's going to have a lovely scar - I hope this will not be the end of his career before we have begun? :-) my beautiful boy was destined for fame & fortune ;-)

I had a call today from Models Direct but am a bit wary after the things I have heard?

hahahehe · 26/10/2005 22:30

Ahhhh Dizzy D: Hope DS is not feeling to sorry for himself - I would say that a scar just adds more character!! I have heard quite alot of positive things about Eurokids....don't know anything about Models direct but have read a few dodgy things. I suppose a plus of Eurokids is the fact the auditions/jobs will be local to you. DK models are sheffield based if that is close to you????...I know ADAMS use them.
Tinkerbellechelle: I will keep glued to the thread and look foward to reading everyone's happy experiences!!! We have a 'possible' in the pipeline but will keep you posted.
ANYONE ELSE got any good jobs/auditions happening??? I love reading HAPPY postings.

maddysonsmomm · 26/10/2005 22:40

I have had 3 reputable companies contact me about maddyson modelling but i dont want her to do it! i dont think i can just drop everything im doing because she has aphoto shoot, then after 6 hours of being there around 2,000 other babies putting up with screaming, sick, grogginess, then to have her heart broken, for all the hard work to having nothing come out from it! i dont know how much different the english agencies are to the american, but if they contact you in the usa you have a time to get there, its so unorganised! but what i described is just the bad side of it! there are good beneifits to it too! As i was a child model until i was 8, i just dont want my daughter doing it, so i gladly declined! Being a models mom is a 24 hour job just like being a mom and i dont have 48 hours in a day! But to all the other women who can drop everything for a shoot then they are brave! coz its hard work and alot of hassle! but the money side is good lol!

cadburygirl · 27/10/2005 10:56

Maddysonmom - I think child modelling over there sounds very different. From what I hear, it's not a 48 hour job. In fact, you might not hear from a modelling agency for months and then get a loads of work if you are lucky. I will see it as a part-time hobby for dd and I, which will enable her to get some money for her trust fund and a few nice pics. The minute I think she's not enjoying it, I will stop.

hahahehe · 27/10/2005 11:16

I agree....24hour job its not!!! Couple of times a year if your lucky!!! We also do it for fun -the recent job we did my DS loved, all the attention and everyone making a fuss of him..... The experiences we have had so far have been very good and professional - we were booked in for an audition at 1pm recently and we were seem bang on time and there was only us there!

maddysonsmomm · 27/10/2005 13:09

Aw thats good that its better here! If maddyson wants to as she gets older and understands it then i will support her, its just harder here when your up against hundreds of other babies and your child doesnt understand it all, or why he/she wasnt picked! I think its easier as the child is older! I didnt like modelling but thats just me, some other people love it and its great for a childs confidence too! And they are open non shy children so thats good! Iam glad your children have fun modelling though, i m sure maddyson would shes such a poser lol,but what alot of peope worry about is there child is put out on show for the world to see, including sex offenders! There was a thing in the news the other day about that little girl something ramsey who was murdered in denver/colorado, a film of her made just from one picture! i cannot believe they can make a film from just one picture! its sick! I understand why thats worrys parents but i also see the positive side to modelling, I had maddysons pictures onm y photopage and someone got hold of them and they were on lots of baby sites, i had never registered on or entered her picture in, surely only a parent can do that but someone has pics of my little rugrat and that makes me uncomfortable! modelling is just not for me right now, maybe as she gets older what the security risk will always be there, considering we will be living in mexico, it makes it even scarier! Modelling is defiantly different in uk, sounds much friendlier lol, as usa is way bigger theres more problems! i am sure gonna miss england

tinkerbellchelle · 28/10/2005 17:56

Well ladies, I have decided I am joining bizzykidz they said by friday reece should be up and running on website. So we'll see how it goes
X

lanismum · 28/10/2005 18:41

ahh thats good, you will be sooooo proud to see your little one on the website! good luck!

tinkerbellchelle · 28/10/2005 20:30

Oh I know I will be a proud mummy with him on the site, hey he wouldnt even need a job haha I'll be proud with him on the website TEE HEE!!!!!!
I mean a lot of people have warned me how having a baby as a model is hard as there arent many jobs out there which I fully understand but hey maybe his long dark eyelashes, green/blue eyes and 2 dimples may help him ( ooopps sorry just being a proud mummy ) seriously tho I really do wish all us mummies so much luck and hey u never know we may all meet one day.
x

hahahehe · 28/10/2005 20:42

Don't think its hard having a baby that models just having a baby is hard enough!! Good luck hon.....keep us posted.
Ps - don't think its the lack of jobs that makes it difficult just the masses of babies to choose from as there are soooo many of us proud mummies out there!! (and i think we all have good reason to!)

trace2 · 28/10/2005 21:18

DizzyD my ds is with dk of shefield, and they are a good agency,

tinkerbellchelle · 29/10/2005 16:12

HAHAHEHE U made me chuckle about the comment of having a baby is hard enough HEEHEE Tell me about it sometimes!
U said the other day about the job possibly in the pipeline....any news yet?
I cant wait to see Reece on the website they said that by friday he will be up and running and to me that is fantastic. Now we'll just wait for the work to come rolling in ha ha ha yeah right No but seriously we'll just see what happens its all good fun and if we get any work thats a bonus.
Just wondering they said about attending a photo shoot with them and to meet the team. What does this entail I've read somewhere that its set out like a casting do they also do an assesment?
See how sad am I, Im all excited he's signed up with an agency!!! anyway hope your possible job comes up good for u and your little one xxxx

hahahehe · 29/10/2005 22:05

Yeah its nice seeing them on the website - although you can only see your own so you won't be able to compare him to the competition!!!!!! Remember to update them regular with any changes-crawling,teeth,haircuts,pictures etc. and enjoy it. Our latest was...we were booked, then cancelled and are currently waiting to for another day to be confirmed!! The photoshoot is for the casting book and they do run it like a casting, they will assess your baby and what he is like with others etc. And you will get some nice B&W pics too. Is your baby good with other people??

tinkerbellchelle · 30/10/2005 08:31

Yeah, he is really good with other people. He goes to his nans every wednesday and I think she takes him to about 3 different people each week ( she likes 2 show off ) and she says he's always fine with people and coos away at them. He is a very happy confident chappy and he is a bit of a show off when it comes to the ladies!! He flutters his long dark eyelashes and does this thing with his eyebrows a proper cheeky chappy.
So hopefully he should be fine at the " photo shot " yeah Im looking forward to the nice pictures
I think with Reece as long as he is fed and watered and changed he is happy as long as he has someone or something to smile at.
AHH well keep us updated with the booking and wish u all the best. X

perfumelady · 31/10/2005 00:31

has any body out there got any views on urban angels? also if one agency has already got a work permit will your local authority issue another one to another agency?

tinkerbellchelle · 31/10/2005 07:46

perfumelady - I think maybe u would need to check with authority but I would think its ok. Sorry that dont help much.
I have heard some good things about urban angels when we were first applying to agencies we tried there but they said they have a baby very similar to my little munhckin so they said 2 try again in a few months if we wanted.
Again thats not actually a massive help but maybe if u do a search on here or some other forums then u may find some posts on them, x

thorntons · 31/10/2005 16:04

Hi Everyone. Good luck to everyone re child modelling .My munchkin is 22 months old and has done a couple of shoots including Zara and Monsoon. Urban Angels are a very reputable agency and seem well run. We have met the Director who is very professional and runs a tight ship. Other very reputable London agencies are MOT Junior,Bruce and Brown London Kids and Kids London. For those who are starting out I would like to vouch modeling is definitely not as glamorous as it seems. You do have to be very flexible as castings and shoots are often very last minute across London. Not easy if you have other commitments such as other children or work. However,we just treat it as a fun, sociable and generally well paid hobby .Good Luck x

tinkerbellchelle · 01/11/2005 16:07

HAHAHEHE Guess what Debi called and they wanted to check reece's length as she said there are a couple of things they want to put him forward to. Not sure what they are for and what will become of them but seeming we finally signed contract fri I feel thats a good start.
Hope all is well with you?
