To everyone who thinks working on a chatline is 'easy money'

I would have posted this on my original thread but can't find the damn thing, sorry Blush

I have to get up at 2am to work, and I didn't even feel so sick with nerves on my wedding day, it was an awful feeling.... hopefully my confidence will kick in for tonights graveyard shift....

You get callers who want to do awful things and you have to hang up, you get really rude people saying you're sh*te who hang up in the middle of your conversation... you get people pestering for your address and you're not allowed to hang up just dissaude them... and then you get hilarious weirdos! But then I couldn't think of anything much to say and my calls lasted about 7 minutes each... and each one was as nerve-wracking as the first!

Is anyone else who was interested in the chatline thing working yet?

(Please let tonight be better than last night!)

what do you do to humiliate
and how do you get these ideas?
( as someone who doenst humiate when unclothed)

I tend to ask at the beginning what kind of things they like :) but you have to be really imaginitive to keep them on the line...

to humiliate I wrote SL*T on their foreheads with lipstick (after dressing them as a woman in pink pvc clothes) and then led them around with a dog collar on and then well erm...the first one wanted me to show him to my friends and well he wanted to 'diddle' a friend while everyone looked on and laughed, so I stuck with that one, whch seemed very popular indeed. Not giving any more secreat away tho Wink

it feels really weird, you just have to say it and try not to think it cos it's just..yuck. As soon as they hang up it sort of just fades into obscurity lol as long as it wasn't breathakingly shocking or funny..

but wont let them hear me
but the self-employed bit is putting me off

Just ask the inland revenue, but it might be worht seeing how much you make a week before you ask, because there are obviously different things for different wages and all that (I've never had a job before pmsl don't look to me as your guru on this particular matter!!!)

the self-employed bit isn't hard at all! you can even do it online. the helpline is really helpful, too.

Great no opportunity to pump up my hours for this week now as my parents are coming to pick us up for the visit to their hellish pit a day early and weren't even going to say, were just going to turn up on ours doorstep at 5:30pm tomorrow expecting us to be ready to go to theirs for a week.

And I can't even tell her about my job and she says she thinks I've got ME because I don't actually do anything now do I (apart from job I have a 2yr old, 6 month old, full time expressing which keeps me up till midnight and wakes me up at 6, dd wakes in the night, I'm out without a car and without a double buggy trying to entertain ds every day....UGH!!!!)

She used to take me to the doctors demanding bloodtests every week or so when I was younger, she went through a list of things that were supposedly wrong with me, until she settled on ME, I guess because it's hard to actually diagnose! She pulled me out of mainstream school because I had CFS (some idiot doctor agreed that I had it along with depression as I sat there going 'FFS I'm FINE, she's mental...can you not see she's MENTAL!?' Blush)

looooooooong story! But it equalled no GCSE's and me scarpering super fast and being in foster care on and off...

remnd me now people, husband, children... why am I going back there? With people I love? Pmsl!

fascinating. absolutely fascinating. I mean, it's not prostitution or anything remotely as bad. It's just... interesting. I see what you're saying. It must be bloody difficult coming up with new ideas and things to keep them on the line.

this has probably already been asked but is it just the spanky and pvc and treating them like a puppy stuff or does it get really rude with them wanting you to describe horrendous sex acts? either way, it's not like you actually have to do it is it. fascinating.

  1. I don't think you're weird or depraved.
  2. I'm not weird and depraved (i don't do chat lines)
  3. i think it's cool to hear about anyone doing something off the wall like this for a living though you're obviously not really happy with it so maybe its not so cool.
