To everyone who thinks working on a chatline is 'easy money'

I would have posted this on my original thread but can't find the damn thing, sorry Blush

I have to get up at 2am to work, and I didn't even feel so sick with nerves on my wedding day, it was an awful feeling.... hopefully my confidence will kick in for tonights graveyard shift....

You get callers who want to do awful things and you have to hang up, you get really rude people saying you're sh*te who hang up in the middle of your conversation... you get people pestering for your address and you're not allowed to hang up just dissaude them... and then you get hilarious weirdos! But then I couldn't think of anything much to say and my calls lasted about 7 minutes each... and each one was as nerve-wracking as the first!

Is anyone else who was interested in the chatline thing working yet?

(Please let tonight be better than last night!)

Hmm it's signing up with a landline that bothers me i'm not very trusting.

I've only done the one!!! I started in the early hours of this morning... it was a shock, was meant to do the whole shift (8 hrs) but I was too flustered.

You can work when you like really though, within limits :)

Hmm you see I do like the sound of it but also agree with monkeytrousers and her views on the porn industry she posted on a different thread about encouraging degredation (sp?)of women so i'm torn. If i'm honest I do need the money but don't think I could actually go through with it. That's not to slate you FAS because I agree that needs must and admire you for that.

Every single guy who called me last night (ok there were not that many in all!) wanted me to be in control, me to humiliate him, etc etc... it's encouraging the degradation of men more than women as far as I can see so far!

Yeah I can understand what you're saying but it does make men think of women in a certain way (sexual) and whereas that's alright for people who are doing well out of it there's certain sectors of the industry that aren't and that are being exploited as I said im not getting at you at all and a part of me wished I had the balls to do what you're doing but the other oart of me says no lol.

TBH they usually chicken and hang up just before that, but you do get grunting and odd noises!

You do have to talk lots, and it's hard to know what tney want sometimes and they just hang up! But I'm new so maybe doing it wrong!!!!
