Aillidh Christine Kinnaird died of complications from treatment for acute myeloid leukaemia at around 11.30 on 8 July 2012. She was surrounded by family and friends and most of all, love.

That is very sad. Aillidh shone so brightly and she will carry on shining, there are so many people who will never forget her.

I'm so sorry to hear this, I had been praying for a miracle. My love and thoughts go to family and friends. Sleep well darling Aillidh x

Expat - though I don't "know" you in the physical sense, I've always admired your strength on these boards - as have others. I am in awe of you today - you've been through the most terrifying and exhausting time a mother could have, and yet you never gave up the fight. Even through all the negative staff members, dropping sats, and hopeless wee hours you STILL fought for your Aillidh - and she did too. No-one could have done a better job. We know exactly where she gets it from... you should be so proud, Leigh!

Giraffes, the beautiful picture of little Aillidh's hand in yours with her toy nearby will stay with me forever.
