Aillidh Christine Kinnaird died of complications from treatment for acute myeloid leukaemia at around 11.30 on 8 July 2012. She was surrounded by family and friends and most of all, love.

I've been lurking on this forum for nearly 3 years, and this is my 1st post. Just wanted to express my deepest sympathy to Expat and her family.

Sleep tight Aillidh, you are at peace now.

Be proud of yourself Aillidh you are such an amazing person, you did bring so many people together, we will never forget you!

God always calls back the truly amazing and special persons too early, you are one of them. Sad

Thinking of you Leigh and family even though we don't know each other, I wish I could ease your pain Sad

welliesandpyjamas · 08/07/2012 07:22

So very terribly sorry, Expat and family. Thoughts are with you. X

Iteotwawki · 08/07/2012 07:23

Have been sitting here struggling to know what to say... she will never be forgotten.

When the spring comes, she will be the breath of wind making the daffodils dance.
When the summer comes, she will be the gentle splashing of waves on the shore.
When the autumn comes, she will be the crunch of leaves and the glorious colours of the trees.
When the winter comes, she will be the crispness in the air that takes your very breath away.

Expat... I am so very very sorry. Much love to you all.

Oh I am so so sorry to hear this news.

I have thought about you and your family every day for so long now. Hoped and hoped you would get through this.

The strength you and Aillidh had was just immense.

You are in my thoughts Expat.

I know I don't 'know' you but I have followed and hoped that every new thread would bring fresh hope.

I dreaded the day that i would open this thread.

The world is a darker place without Aillidh in it.

TheEnglishWomanInTheAttic · 08/07/2012 07:31

So sad. I only became aware of Aillidh's story recently, so haven't posted, but I'm sure I am one of hundreds who have been thinking of her on top of all those who have posted on her threads. Thinking of her family now, hope they can find some peace in time :(

marshmallowpies · 08/07/2012 07:35

archfiend · 08/07/2012 07:37

I'm so sorry for your loss. Totally inadequate words to describe this but they are truly meant.

I'm not the first to say this and almost certainly won't be the last but Aillidh has brought an enormous community of people together with grace and with love. That sort of thing doesn't fade.

My thoughts are with Expat, with your family, your friends and of course Aillidh. x

crazycanuck · 08/07/2012 07:37
