OP posts:
tigeryuan · 21/03/2006 10:56

pls tell us...

tinkerbellchelle · 21/03/2006 11:02

yakerty > linda emailed me to say she has sent registration pack in the post today for LO and she said she assumed that because they hadn't yet heard its a no.
Oh well... she said in the email there will be plenty of other opportunites.. lets hope so :)
good luck for you :)

mythumbelinas · 21/03/2006 11:07

anyone - would like to know, do you give a call to your agency after every casting or give feedback?

tigeryuan · 21/03/2006 11:20

i emailed the booker to tell her how it went.. (1 job & 1 casting)

but, i think i won't do it next time!
i actually asked my booker do i need to inform her after job/casting, she said 'not necessary!

perfumelady · 21/03/2006 11:22

mythumbelinas i always just drop an email to say that we attended casting and found it ok etc

tink bubblegum is sole rep

cyan you kept that one quiet Shock what time is it on? are you pleased with your new look?

mythumbelinas · 21/03/2006 11:28

thanks for that tigeryuan and perfumelady :) Good to give a quick email to let them know, i suppose ..

yackertyyack · 21/03/2006 11:31

Tink.....will still keep my fingers crossed for you and its good to hear she said that there should be plenty more things in the pipeline. So you still don't know what to do about IK then!! At least when you get the registration pack you will know whether they are sole rep. Think its easier for an agent to tell you one way or the other if one of there kids actually gets the job-I suppose you don't know whether she sent any others for the casting??

tinkerbellchelle · 21/03/2006 11:44

perfumelady - thanks for letting me know she is sole rep... now I dont know what to do?? I will have to have a think about it. It just seems such a fab start that I might regret it not going with them? Oh dear what do I do??

Yakerty > when i had a peep at the sheet I couldnt see any other BG but I might have easily missed it.
How old is your LO? Fingers crossed for you still tho ;)

tinkerbellchelle · 21/03/2006 11:49

oopps DP is moaning we should have left 10 mins ago :) have a great day everyone x
YAK > fingers crossed 4 u Grin

perfumelady · 21/03/2006 12:01

tink i emailed linda for my dd1, she is currently with ck casting but they mainly do theatre work and since being offered an audition for whistle down the wind, have realised that a west end theatre production is to much commitment for us because of where we live, so we have deceided to stick with modeling, cause one off jobs are easier than a long term projcts so need to look for new agent, here we go again!!!

linda emailed me back that they are sole rep.
was on napm and someone got caught out being on two agencies one was A&J and the other was b/k they both put this ladies child forward for a commercial and the casting agent pointed the find out to a&j and they weren't very happy apparently. this sole rep thing is such a pain, how will you deceide what to do?

tigeryuan · 21/03/2006 13:32

perfumelady - thats true about the commitment!!

tinkerbell - its difficult decision! the fact is, you know BG do get jobs/castings for your lo. good luck!

LuxuryHolidays1 · 21/03/2006 14:15

Good luck to everyone who has castings/jobs or awaiting decisions at the mo.

perfumelady · 21/03/2006 18:22

well i said i was going to stick with modelling but this afternoon had a call for my dd to audition for the part of cossette in les misarble in the londons west end, now i don't know what to do, commitment is going to be huge for a show like this but the opportunity is also huge which way do i go?
also had a call today for a job next week with out casting Grin but just waiting to see if her full length shot meets there requirements

7up · 21/03/2006 19:00

perfume, if you can commit to the theatre i think i would. personally i wouldnt be able to as havent got partners support and all family work but if you have help then go for it, how exciting

perfumelady · 21/03/2006 19:22

thanks 7 up, i really need to know what other people would do because i,m really stuck on what i should do.i just spoke with her stagecoach princible she said she has no doubts with her acting ability, she's just gonna check with her singing teacher to see weither she is up to a solo on the west end stage!!! i don't have work commitments as i have my own business which has a manager so that's not a problem, my problem is am i being selfish to the rest of the family as we will have to spend a lot of time in london( that is if she even got the part) but i've got to think ahead due to having two other children(pre teens) to think about.

totallyfloaty35 · 21/03/2006 19:26

Perfume,is the work/casting for your eldest? i would go for it,kids hours are very regulated and usually 3 kids take turns in the same role, and at least after doing it once you will know if you never want to do it again.

alliebaba · 21/03/2006 19:35

hi guys.. whens cyan gonna be on the telly? luxury, i just remembered that power invited my son for an interview.. i forgot Blush

7up · 21/03/2006 21:10

perfume, are your other 2 old enough to have a family meeting about it praps?it would be such a shame to miss such an opportunity, her siblings would be so proud of her. imagine em saying "my big sis is in a west end play". can understand your worries tho.

patzcrafty · 21/03/2006 21:21

I have heard loads about power model management.
have a read of albamodels.info website. There is a scam going around where a company puts an ad in the paper and hold a seminar in a hotel. They charge there and then for photos and then promise you a contract with a leading agency within 12 motns or your money back. You then get a letter towards the end of 12mths from a so called 'leading agency' who offers you a place with them for a further small fee. trading standards found out that they actually are the same company and they are covered legally cos they kept to their original contract. Now I might be wrong, but i am sure they were one of the companies that i read about? Just be very careful if they are offering anything similar at all. Never heard of them, heard of most, and check they get work and how long they have been going..........

hope im not wrong but I read a link on that alba website months ago, did a search on the internet and came up with loads of reports and i am sure they were mentioned

might be wrong though??

anyone else out there with them and any feedback????

patzcrafty · 21/03/2006 21:22

i did hear though that they changed their name and a company in norwich has been changing there name regularly and I was told that power models had changed their name

they just ring a bell somehow (alarm bells that is)

cyan · 21/03/2006 21:40

hiya hope everone is good, i dont think that it will be on tomorrow, as it is a cable channel and TBH i dont have a clue when it will be, but depending on the final outcome ill let you know when it is when i get home!!! am nervous as have not been on tv since appearing on get your own back as a contestant 10 odd years ago!!! and believe me that was embarrasing !!! tink and yack did you hear back about your casting?

perfumelady · 21/03/2006 21:46

patzcrafty that name rang alarm bells for me too , but not sure why

7up yes i think a family meeting would be good thanks for the idea

cyan · 21/03/2006 21:54

perfumelady, if your possible situation was my possible situation then I would personally go for it, as long as you have your family's support for you and dd to go ahead and commit to this. as you are probably more than aware it will involve a hell of a lot of commitment. one of my very close friend's dp is an actor, and was also a child actor on both stage (bugsy malone/oliver) and grange hill, and back in the day whilst we were probably drinking white lightning he was rehearsing for a play/performance. but he truly loved it and to this day is still an acot, most recent part being in hustle. i just remember him loving the whole experience, and he didnt go to stage school just a normal state school and drama was always his passion. so if your dd ultimately wants to do this then fab, as long as family is behind her x hope that sort of helps sorry if it came out a little patronising but hey that's showbiz Grin just couldnt put it any other way!!! ps i cna always have a chat with my pal and see if her partner has any sound advice xxxxx

cyan · 21/03/2006 21:56

spelling atrocious but strewth it is late and us tv darlings need our beauty sleep teehee Grin

have a fabulous day tomorrow everyone, gosh i sound like a right laadeedah!!
