Enid's thread made me think. I ahevn't got one but fear if I did I would never go in it. Apparently some rich Americans have present wrapping rooms..

Your post is almost word for word the same as mine, I cant wait to have a seperate dining room

Angeliz · 22/02/2006 20:16

We have but we very rarley eat in it and dd's freinds Mums have referred to it as the playroom
Mind you, we ate in there today for a Party tea, the sandwiches are still on the table but i have my priorities right tonight. First Mumsnet, then clean up mess.
Am knackered!

doormat · 22/02/2006 20:17

muma3 · 22/02/2006 20:21

i live in a flat and i cant wait til i move and can have a dining table. im looking forward to us all sitting round it to watch dinner/ having somewhere for kids to do home work/painting etc / dp to do uni coursework and work related paperwork/ all my junk to be dumped etc etc etc

jowen · 22/02/2006 20:25

No we haven't got one. We eat at a small table in the living room. I insist on eating at a table, hate slopping on the sofa to eat.

crazydazy · 22/02/2006 20:34

Nope kids sit at their little table, DP and I use our knees. Would love one though.

Yes, we are gonna try, as we dont need to knock any walls out, so we cant do too much damage..........................I hope.

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 22/02/2006 21:59

through sitting-dining room. love it.

QE2 · 22/02/2006 22:01

Yes, I couldn't imagine not having one as we always sit together round the table to eat all our meals. It;s one of my favourie times of the day.

sharklet · 23/02/2006 14:13

We have one, we use it everyday for a family dinner. DD and I eat breakfast and lunch in the kitchen though at the kitchen table.

Its kind of a library too being completely covered in bookshelves and a huge dresser.

DH's folks (rich americans) have 2 whole story's worth of rooms they never go into unless guests visit, so thats a parlour, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, 2 dressing rooms on the top floor all done up with antiques galore, then thier the apartment they have made up for us in the basement for when we visit (one every 2 years!) with 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, a huge open plan living room, kitchen dining room, a gym, utility room and a tool workshop that again they never go into.

Scary as hell!! And such a waste

LIZS · 23/02/2006 14:17

yes we do and the kids eat in there every day and me usually too. Have to admit we never used to use it regularly when it was just us two or even when ds was little. We also have a largish lounge which could accommodate a table too if needs be.

Fimbo · 23/02/2006 14:19

We have a lounge/diner but it is big enough to separate with a stud wall, can be bothered with the hassle though.
