Enid's thread made me think. I ahevn't got one but fear if I did I would never go in it. Apparently some rich Americans have present wrapping rooms..

Anyone got a library?

OP posts:
Dottydot · 22/02/2006 13:31

ooh no, but I've always wanted a study that I could fill from floor to ceiling with books - would that count??

iota · 22/02/2006 13:32

KP - I've got a bookshelf in my dinng room - does that count?

Blackduck · 22/02/2006 13:32

Well depends how far you want to streach the description! Our backroom has all our books in it (and there are a lot of them...) does that count?

WigWamBam · 22/02/2006 13:32

No library, but I do have a study that's wall-to-wall books if that counts ... we have walls full of books in every other room as well.

SPARKLER1 · 22/02/2006 13:32

we have a study too.

Milge · 22/02/2006 13:32

We have a dining room, which we use when we entertain. The room is kept for adults only and is free of any traces of kids rubbish. When we have friends round for supper we eat around the kitchen table, surrounded by their toys.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 22/02/2006 13:33

Welllllllllllllllllllllll

No, but the dining room has two large bookshelves and DS used to call it the library, a la Roly Mo.

alliep30 · 22/02/2006 13:33

got a study. it's full of dh's crap (don't tell anthea)

lunavix · 22/02/2006 13:33

We have a room that adjoins kitchen and lounge with no doors. It has a plastic ikea table, 5 ikea stools (all of these are kid size) a ton of toy storage, and a penguin fridge. I'd love to eat dinner at a table.

krabbiepatty · 22/02/2006 13:33

Hmm, think to be a real library has to be full of comfy leather armchairs and er spittoons maybe or humidors or cuspidors...

LadySherlockofLGJ · 22/02/2006 13:34

I have always wanted a boot room.

stitch · 22/02/2006 13:34

the living room has a dining room part. takes forever to carry food from kitchen to it though. at the mon=ment it is pretending to be office for dh. well, big mess of paperwork really. we only ever use it when invited type guests are round. otherwise eat in kithcen, or in front of telly, or computer.

krabbiepatty · 22/02/2006 13:34

What goes in a boot room, just boots?

OP posts:
Blackduck · 22/02/2006 13:34

In that case - No......(our library was going to be the third bedroom, but then we had ds...)

CountessDracula · 22/02/2006 13:35

Lunavix where DO you eat? Why not put a dining table in your room next to kitchen?

LadySherlockofLGJ · 22/02/2006 13:36

Well......... we have one comfy leather armchair next to one of the bookcases, does that count ?

scotlou · 22/02/2006 13:36

We do - and after acting as the diy store room for 2 years it now has a new dining table and chairs. Used twice - last time at Christmas! We have a huge kitchen (subject of teh DIY) which has a washable floor and a kitchen tabls and chairs - so that's where we eat.
The dining room looks great though.

krabbiepatty · 22/02/2006 13:37

You just need one humidor and you're away...

OP posts:
LadySherlockofLGJ · 22/02/2006 13:37

Yes, just welly boots and walking boots and shoes and trainers, all in the one place, oooh don't get me started.

we have a through room with a dining table in the end bit. Mind you, currently covered in a year's worth of baby photos I am supposed to be putting in albums.

We also have a library.... well.... part of our landing (which is about 6 foot square at most) has a big built in book case. That part of the landing as its own light and everything (also has the door to the bathroom and dd's room) ... perhpas not what you meant.

Hulababy · 22/02/2006 13:38

No we don't. We have a living room, with a dining area. The kitchen is big enough to have a small fold up table in too, although haven't at moment. I quite like it though.

At the apartment the living area was fully open plan so used to it.

motherinferior · 22/02/2006 13:38

We have one, it's really scruffy and dingy and I would ideally like to knock it through into the kitchen. However, since that would mean living and working in a building site for about a decade - going by the rate of work of the Blokes who have been making relatively minor adjustments to the Inferiority Complex since last October - I'd rather move. I yearn for a big, welcoming kitchen-diner full of light and witty urbane conversation from relaxed yet glamorous people.

Blackduck · 22/02/2006 13:39

I'd like a room of my own.....
