Will MN HQ be able to do anything?

Thread Here

Although its not a nice thought I can only deduce from no communication that I have been ripped off for my wedding bits that I sold in good faith at a much reduced price for a mumsnetter.

I also out of the goodness of my stupid heart sent her the necklace I wore on my day for her soemthing borrowed.

I cant "believe" this is intentional as she was so grateful in the beginning.

But countless and emails and threads on here have turned nothing up

Will MN be able to do anything?

FS please not your fault. I have sent stuff before without even thinking about it.

You have just found a bad egg is all.

tiredemma · 06/02/2006 15:50

fs, if you sent the stuff then do you still have her address?

popsycalindisguise · 06/02/2006 15:51

write to her, email her work, text her

freshstart · 06/02/2006 15:51

have just gone through old emails and still have her address. Also a website for the company she works for in her signature

Also in the initial emails she mentions that she doesnt have a cheque book so would have to be postal order

OP posts:
popsycalindisguise · 06/02/2006 15:52

email info@her work email - and ask them to put her in touch with you and why

Dinosaur · 06/02/2006 15:52

I think she lived in Luton? Are there other mumsnetters who live nearby who could check out the address, see if it is a real address, see who lives there etc?

georginars · 06/02/2006 15:54

please don't feel foolish, we all have to trust people sometimes - I've sent things to people from here and waited til I knew how much postage was before asking for a cheque.
unfortunately some people just have no scruples

Let's not turn this into a row where peasants start their rampage with flaming torches!

Freshstart should be the one who initiates contact with sc, if anyone has her number they should give it to sc only. It is their argument and not ours, all we can do is learn from this and be cautious in our own dealings.

Let us know what happens freshstart.

Have been lurking all day. FS - sorry that this has happened to you & know you're having hard time finacially so has even more impact.

I'm fairly near Luton but don't know the area well, Nickola (sp?) is def in Luton but not seen her post much recently. Also there's someone else in Luton for sure will rack my brains to try and remember!

flutterbee · 06/02/2006 16:32

I think this is really sad and anyone who does something like this should be ashamed of themselves. I don't believe that £120 of po's have been sent and lost, and no matter what sc's situation is there is no excuse for not sending the goods back, especially the necklace.

freshstart · 06/02/2006 16:33

I feel really silly for sending necklace I really do. I shouldnt send anything Im not prepared to lose out on. I was so excited after my wedding and all loved up and when I saw SC was wearing the same dress I just wanted to help

flutterbee · 06/02/2006 16:34

I would have done the same fs, you have nothing to feel stupid about.

waterfalls · 06/02/2006 16:39

Why is it always the good people that get shit on, makes me so mad.

Mercy · 06/02/2006 16:52

Flutterbee, I agree. If one PO gets lost is the post, OK these things do happen, but 2?

freshstart · 06/02/2006 16:53

Two then no contact ever again

beggars belief really

I think that SC was genuine then maybe struggled for the money and got embarassed or did indeed lose one postal order and cant afford to replace

If it's any help, I am sure that she works for her parents' company, unless she has changed jobs since returning from maternity leave.
