Will MN HQ be able to do anything?

Thread Here

Although its not a nice thought I can only deduce from no communication that I have been ripped off for my wedding bits that I sold in good faith at a much reduced price for a mumsnetter.

I also out of the goodness of my stupid heart sent her the necklace I wore on my day for her soemthing borrowed.

I cant "believe" this is intentional as she was so grateful in the beginning.

But countless and emails and threads on here have turned nothing up

Will MN be able to do anything?

this one has been going on for a long time...FS changed her nae

nutcracker · 06/02/2006 14:27

Sorry to read this Freshstart. I remember you starting a thread for SC wondering what was happeneing, and then i thought things were going to go badly.

I really hope this gets sorted.

LIZS · 06/02/2006 14:34

I was thinking of this one which I think is still ongoing .

LIZS · 06/02/2006 14:46

Specifically was referring to diva4mgl 's issue - recently revived here . I guess you relaly do have to be careful.

MissChief · 06/02/2006 14:46

sounds like you've really given her the benefit of the doubt..guess it's a horrible lesson for us all to learn. For other stuff to sell (obviously wedding gift/loan different) guess ebay is safer!

Are you sure? I have too and I was always told that special just guarantees delivery but recorded is the one that insures it.

katierocket · 06/02/2006 14:51

doormat · 06/02/2006 14:52

I stand correct

nutcracker · 06/02/2006 14:53

Yep it is right , it's special delivery that requires signiture and is insured.

katierocket · 06/02/2006 14:53

god, don't know what's wrong with me

I stand corrected !

zippitippitoes · 06/02/2006 14:56

you can also purchase extra insurance on ordinary postal rates for 70p upwards depending on value

I've known SC on here for some time. Find it very sad that she would do this. Can only think that she has money problems and is too embarrassed to admit it. Perhaps she thinks that she will find a way to pay soon? Dunno, it just leaves a nasty taste tbh.

Beetroot · 06/02/2006 15:00

so was springchicken insured or not???

JonesTheSteam · 06/02/2006 15:00

Post office lost our marriage licence which was sent 'special delivery'.

At least the insurance paid for a new one?

me too socci

popsycalindisguise · 06/02/2006 15:25

It is even sadder that it is something so special

I think had SC said she couldn;'t afford or/could she just borrow it/was having some trouble paying etc, freshstart would have been happy to help.

Freshstart has her own financial problems at the moment and could really do with this being resolved (hope she didnt mind me saying..)

Blossomhill · 06/02/2006 15:37

If sc is telling the truth then surely she would be doing everything in her power to get it sorted out?

FGS sc if you can't afford the stuff do the honourable thing and send it back to fs. It is not yours to keep, you haven't paid for it. Therefore it is stolen.

I think the way she has acted is despicable and I really hope she gets some sort of payback for this.

How anyone can do this and sleep at night is beyond me

You do have an address don't you? Not sure if you can go down that route?

freshstart · 06/02/2006 15:44

Feel gutted and stupid reading this thread.

I have been silly sending things without payment but have had various transactions like this with mumsnetters that have always been fine and I just never thoguth to be suspicious.

I agree, if it was a genuine cock up I would send the stuff back straight away.

Also, Im such a softie if she had asked to borrow it I would have said OF COURSE.

The way it lies at the moment she will be walking up the aisle in stolen goods? Not a good start to a marriage I would say - bad kama

I still cant believe there isnt some reasonable explanation but also find it suss SC has disappeared after such a long time on mumsnet.
