Will MN HQ be able to do anything?

Thread Here

Although its not a nice thought I can only deduce from no communication that I have been ripped off for my wedding bits that I sold in good faith at a much reduced price for a mumsnetter.

I also out of the goodness of my stupid heart sent her the necklace I wore on my day for her soemthing borrowed.

I cant "believe" this is intentional as she was so grateful in the beginning.

But countless and emails and threads on here have turned nothing up

Will MN be able to do anything?

Isn't paypal linked to a back account?
could the payment still be reversed with zero fund in paypal and the money come from the linked bank account?

God I hope not!

SenoraPostrophe · 13/02/2006 19:38

LTH - it's not easy to reverse paypal payments because the transaction is technically with them and not with the seller. I doubt payment would have been made fraudulently - why bother? I'm sure it'll be fine.

really sorry to hear about all this, fs. try not to lose faith in people.

Rhubarb · 13/02/2006 20:06

Zephrycat? She was kind enough to go to Woolies for me just after Christmas and purchase 2 leappad books for dd, which she then sent to me in France on the same day. She never waited for payment. (Although I hasten to add that I did pay!) I thought at the time that she was very generous to go out of her way to do this for me, and very trusting to send them right away. I do hope this doesn't deter other people from being such kind souls.

Why have all of Fed ups posts been deleted. Gawd I missed this. Is she SC. If she is send back the necklace. FS let one of us ring her. I will certainly volunteer. I sent my wedding Jewellry to the states and got it back one week after my friends wedding. I would have gone mental if she had done this. She wouldn't though cos the is a RL friend. The fact that a complete stranger (pecca) has been good enough to do this for you....and your treating her like a pile of wank (got this from here) ......well. Hope this brings good tidings to your marraige.

SPRINGCHICKEN SEND FRESHSTART BACK HER NECKLACE hi freshstart i have been following your threads and i cant believe she still hasnt sent your necklace back to you. even if shes been busy surely a phone call or email wouldnt take 5 mins to let you know. i feel really and on your behalf, after you have done something so nice out of the goodness of your heart. i really hope that she gets off her backside soon and gets it back to you other wise she needs a short swift kick up the arse. XXX

starlover · 13/02/2006 21:04

i don't think it matters that she paid for the other stuff OR that fs sent the necklace off her own back.

at the end of the day SC has an item of jewellery that doesn't belong to her.

that is stealing, it doesn't matter HOW she got it, but the fact is that she has it, she admits she has it, and she won't give it back.

i would still call the police

Flossam · 13/02/2006 21:05

I can ask DP what he thinks on this one. I think stuff over the internet is generally harder though.

freshstart · 13/02/2006 21:08

the thing is......im such a mug

i sent the necklace for her something borrowed and she doesnt get married until july but have asked for it back as its all gone sour

but maybe she is panicking about what she will now wear?

UCM, fedupofhearingit only posted briefly, eg, daft but rude comment on the shopping list thread but also downright nasty comment on a thread re sexuality

magnolia1 · 13/02/2006 21:54

Fs, you are still worrying about someone who has been so dishonest!!!

It doesnt matter if she is worrying about what she will wear, you asked for the necklace back she hasn't sent it!!!

Blimey woman get angry pleeeeaaassseee. You are so nice (meant that in a nice way )

UCM · 13/02/2006 22:00

Look there is a lot of trust on here. Sometimes we argue, fight and bitch. BUT, nobody on here would rip off a fellow MN, not any of the ones I know anyway.

Springchicken, has decided that we are not real people, so it doesn't matter that much.

FS, FFS, get angry!!

I noted that someone mentioned that they havent been paid for videos/books etc. That is not good enough. You should have been paid.

Am off to start a thread on lousy payers

threelittlebabies · 13/02/2006 22:54

FS- although you sent the necklace out of the kindness of your heart, the law states that a person is guilty of theft if he dishonestly appropriates property belonging to another with the intention of permanently depriving them of it. I think all of us would say this could be applied here (benefit of the doubt been given to SC, time and time again).

As for her having no necklace/something borrowed to wear for her wedding- tough tits! This karma will come round eventually to bite her in the arse!

Sorry for this unnecessary crap you are going through xxx

Flossam · 13/02/2006 22:54

DP thinks that this is tricky but is theft - but would be very hard to prove, quoting about the amount of post lost. Says you should try and report it anyway, it is worth it. And hopefully you will get your necklace back one way or another.
