Will MN HQ be able to do anything?

Thread Here

Although its not a nice thought I can only deduce from no communication that I have been ripped off for my wedding bits that I sold in good faith at a much reduced price for a mumsnetter.

I also out of the goodness of my stupid heart sent her the necklace I wore on my day for her soemthing borrowed.

I cant "believe" this is intentional as she was so grateful in the beginning.

But countless and emails and threads on here have turned nothing up

Will MN be able to do anything?

this is awful
think you ought to now follow instructions from the poster who's in the police, ie get the police involved now. write a letter to sc and say what you are doing.

MistressMary · 13/02/2006 12:20

Blimey. Not good is it.

Fimbo · 13/02/2006 12:30

I think it is really wicked and would phone the police FS. On the Ebay front - is there not some way of tracing a member by their email address,( if you suspect it has been sold on there).

jambuttie · 13/02/2006 12:53

agree strongly ladies about thr police front. Why should FS wait anylonger on SC??

There is a way on ebay to trace the seller/buyer. I had to do judt that a while back when I paid for goods and the seller never sent the items. It showed me their name address and tel no.

Can't quite remember how to do it though

Hulababy · 13/02/2006 13:01

Hope you get this sorted FS

treacletart · 13/02/2006 13:02

You can only get their details if you've had an ebay transaction with them within the last 60 days so it probably wont be able to help FS much. We don't actually know she's flogged it on ebay do we??

threelittlebabies · 13/02/2006 13:05

Looks like she is still on MN, she posted on a Birth Announcement thread on thurs or fri. Really hope you get it back FS

bev1e · 13/02/2006 14:40

If it were me in your position FS I'd be on her doorstep knocking (politely of course) on the door! I realise she may not be local but with all the support you're receiving on here someone is bound to be local to her!

Rhubarb · 13/02/2006 14:43

I can't believe this is still going on!

If you have her address then I would do as others have suggested and either go round yourself or send someone else round.

threelittlebabies · 13/02/2006 14:50

Rhubarb did you see my thread for you?

starlover · 13/02/2006 14:52

FS.... call the police.
this is just stupid now. does anyone really believe that she has posted 3 PO's that have got lost AND the necklace has got lost too? I don't think so.

she hasn't posted it or you;'d have it by now.

call the police and get them to sort it.

Rhubarb · 13/02/2006 14:52

No!
Which thread am I honoured with? Is it nice?

starlover - has fs been paid for the other stuff? I thought she said she had been paid and was waiting for the necklace now. So a slightly hopeful sign there perhaps?

So she's been paid but the necklace has not been sent on? I dunno, if you have her address, her work address, her telephone numbers, etc, then why would she try it on? Why send the money and keep the necklace?
Baffling as Socci said.

starlover · 13/02/2006 14:57

sorry yeah, should have acknowledged that payment had been received.

but as far as posting the necklace back.... do you really believe that one person couldh ave that much bad luck with posting stuff?

sharklet · 13/02/2006 17:52

I'm not sure the police would do anything to be honest. SC never asked for the necklace, and FS sent it as a surprise which was inordinately kind of her. But probably a bit foolish. The police really aren't going to do anything about it, especially as she has been paid for the goods she sent. I just hope SC has sent them, and if not has the good sense to post it speical delivery tomorrow morning and email FS the track and trace number.

I really feel for you FS I'd be gutted if someone did this to me.

freshstart · 13/02/2006 17:54

yeah, now Ive been paid dont think its a matter for the police.

Yep, was foolish to send but dont regret it - I will get my karma in the end

Was looking through the emails the other day and when I was sending the stuff I had wanted to send the emails too but I couldnt find them when I was packaging everything up so even if I dont get necklace back at least I have the earrings as a sort of sentimental keepsake of the jewellry on the day.

You know what FS, my gran has a superstition about the something borrowed, if the something borrowed is not returned it bodes ill for the marriage. So really SC is not giving herself good karma by hanging on to it! The fates will sor tit out - perhaps something good is coming your way!

donnie · 13/02/2006 18:16

so it looks like spring chicken is a thief. How sad for her children if that is true. Very sorry about the necklace freshstart.
