I feel odd about it but I'm not sure why.

I too am in the same boat as Lizzer and SueW and was going to disappear for a month or so as then I hope to be able to subscribe money wise. I have been keeping a low profile and only really talking to Enid ref our pregnancies and newborns.

rachel1 · 13/11/2002 10:34

Hi there, Demented to answer your query, yes, it is possible to subscribe more cash at any time....don't hold back! Thanks to all of your for your support and suggestions.

Rachel

prufrock · 13/11/2002 10:37

Please please please all keep posting - this is not a "pay per post" service! An alternative way of looking at it for those of you who needlessly feel guilty about not being able to afford to subscribe is to see your posts as your contribution. By posting lots, you will be helping more people, and giving more possible material to be used in the book. So post post post away!

justiner · 13/11/2002 12:16

Well said prufrock - our sentiments exactly. Justine, Carrie and Rachel

Demented · 13/11/2002 20:26

Thanks Rachel, DH's work is wobbly just now but hopefully things will be more settled in a few weeks. I feel it suits me better to make a few small contributions in the year rather than one larger one so that's great. Thanks!

Joe1 · 14/11/2002 00:26

Demented that is a really good idea, that way of contributing would suit me better too.

Rosy · 27/11/2002 12:39

After winning the puzzles at the weekend (woo-hoo!), I've got the competition bug and really want to enter the draw to win the maternity bag on offer this week. So my question is (as I'm hopeless at thinking up tips) is can I subscribe again, under my same chat name and be entered for the competition?

justiner · 27/11/2002 13:30

Yes!

Rhubarb · 27/11/2002 22:06

Oooh, I never thought of that! Can you increase your chances by entering loads of times?

Rosy · 20/03/2003 13:25

Was in a state of high excitement yesterday, as I saw the new Mumsnet book in Waterstones. And my words in print! (Albeit under a pseudonym). Unfortunately it was only my thoughts on dummies. Wish that I'd only contributed witty, incisive & startlingly intelligent comments to Mumsnet now. Congratulations to the Mumsnet team on hitting the shelves!

Ems · 20/03/2003 13:35

Oh my goodness how exciting!!! Waterstones here I come!

Marina · 20/03/2003 13:44

So it's out! You kept that quiet, Justine & co! Must start carpet-bombing Amazon with enthusiastic five-star reviews (joke...).
How are you doing, Rosy?

kaz33 · 20/03/2003 13:55

Just checked on Amazon and there are two - mumsnet on babies and mumsnet on childbirth and pregnancy !!

Bugsy · 20/03/2003 14:50

Wow, that's amazing - come on Carrie, Justine et al - tell us more!

Scatterbrain · 20/03/2003 16:03

You lot haven't been reading your Mumsnet newsletters have you ??

Today's one tells us that the books are out - not officially though until Mothers day - and that there will be copies available for members at a discount price of £7.50 plus p&p shortly via the website !!

Marina · 20/03/2003 17:58

I am privileged to read the Bookseller every week as part of my work and can report that the Mumsnet Guide to Babies is listed in their new publications section this week, under "Household Management".

ScummyMummy · 20/03/2003 18:10

Household management??!!??!!??!!

Tinker · 20/03/2003 19:29

I've just reviewed it on Amazon, said it was rubbish! No, didn't, didn't, DIDN'T. Does mumsnet make more money if we buy it directly from them? Presume so.

justiner · 20/03/2003 22:41

Only just seen this thread and had no idea Waterstones had copies in yet - we were told it would be in the shops sometime next week, which is when we are getting copies to sell from the site. So, to clarify, Mums on Babies is available from this site to members as of Monday/ Tues next week at a price of £7.50 + 2.00 p&p (MRP - £9.99). It does benefit mumsnet if you buy from the site, as we get the books at the same price as the booksellers. Obviously it also benefits us if we get good reviews through Amazon and if everyone spreads the word as much as possible - if every member told five people about Mums on Babies then that would be really something. Anyway we hope you like it. Congratulations to all who contributed - we put it together but you are the real authors.

tigermoth · 21/03/2003 19:30

Ok I'll wait and buy my copy via Mumsnet, but I just wondered, has anyone yet got hold of one via Waterstones? If so, care to give a quick lowdown?

Carriel · 24/03/2003 22:39

Just to let you know that "Mums on Babies" is now available to buy from mumsnet for £7.50 plus p&p. The url to click on is www.mumsnet.com/s/mn.BookOrderPage?
Hope you like it!

Marina · 25/03/2003 09:31

Very nice review of "Mums on Babies" in Junior Pregnancy and Baby magazine, just out. Will try and find it and post it here (not on their website), because it was very complimentary about us all! Apparently Mumsnet is a "cult website"...

WideWebWitch · 25/03/2003 09:37

Marina, oooh, I've never been a member of a cult before!

elliott · 25/03/2003 11:19

I can't wait for 'mums on toddlers' - I hope you're planning one - you will include all those great tips on playing with toddlers won't you??

cathncait · 25/03/2003 11:30

Where can I get the book in Australia..or internet. Can't get it through mumnet I gather?
