We have played with Eve / Evie for the new bubaloo but it's just not sticking, something is preventing us both for going for it, and I don't know what / why. Perhaps we'll suddenly feel it and go for it, but maybe not.

Other contenders are:

Lauren
Amelie

Last night D said he really liked the name Saskia, I'm not so sure.

It has to semi go a bit with Carlotte / Lottie (our eldest DD) and her last name begins with M and you makes a 'moy' sound.

Any comments on the names we have thought of and any other suggestions?

oh god I don't know, I assumed Clah-rah. I haven't spoken to them or a day or so but it was finally announced in the Times today!

sweetkitty · 04/01/2006 21:45

What about Abbie? (DD's name Lottie and Abbie I wanted Charlotte (Lottie for DD2 but DP having none of it?)

Oh total hijack but how are you getting on with your e3?

PrincessPeaHead · 04/01/2006 21:45

It's fine, but their surname starts with a K and I think it is a bit kkkkkkkkkkk sounding

nutcracker · 04/01/2006 21:46

I suggested Clara further down. I think it is lovely.

Also love Eloise.

How about any of the names from your post on Aloha's thread, TC? I C&Pd it further down this thread somewhere, I think.

I do know what you mean though - we think we have names (at last!), but I've told DH I want to see what this baby looks like before saying for definite - they're names I do really like, but I want to make sure

soapbox · 04/01/2006 21:49

Poppet is a bit like pickle - so Poppy?

Polly?

Tilly?

motherinferior · 04/01/2006 21:50

Wouldn't go with Lottie, though.

cupcakes · 04/01/2006 21:50

Most are Clara (rhymes with Lara). My sister's name is pronounced Clare-ah and I'm yet to hear of another!

JenumGeranium · 04/01/2006 21:50

Poppy is a cute name!

JenumGeranium · 04/01/2006 21:51

I knew of a really cute Clara (Rhymes with Lara!)

Screwballmuppet · 04/01/2006 21:51

I love the name Laura Grace (Grace as the middle name)

cupcakes · 04/01/2006 21:53

We decided on Phoebe for dd although I wanted to 'make sure' when she was born. Whe she arrived I thought she looked like a Maisy and mean old (but ultimately sensible dh) wouldn't let me veer from original decision and Phoebe she is - I now think she has grown into it but to my post natal mind she didn't suit it initially.

Kazziegirl · 04/01/2006 21:55

I love Freya, Libby and Lara - look forward to hearing what you decide Thomcat.

Thomcat · 04/01/2006 21:56

No, nothing, not feeling anything,. nothing wrong with the names, just not feeeling them, God it's hopeless. Charlotte / Lottie just felt immediatley right and it's not happening this time.

Will have to try and make a decision this weekend, maybe!

Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhh.!!

Know how you feel TC with DD1 she was Abbie (and she got my beloved Grans name as a middle name) even before she was conceived, our fav girls name. Kind of feel sad DD2 gets a "second" name really, think we have decided on it though (due in a week).

nooka · 04/01/2006 22:00

We were like Aloha, we had been expecting another boy and spent most of the pregnancy deciding on a name, and when it was a girl spent days thinking the name we had chosen didn't fit and trying to find another one. In the end dh just went and registered her with the original name, and now it fits her just fine My parents did a complete shortlist thing for us, and we still have the baby name book with all their crossing and ticking. They got some good shortlists, but it must have taken them ages! I nearly got called Cosmo (my mother was very keen on Cosmo and Damian for twins!)

cupcakes · 04/01/2006 22:02

love the Cosmo but poor Damian!

Screwballmuppet · 04/01/2006 22:02

Not sure if already been mentioned but heres a few:
Kacie
Jessica
Sophie
Sarah
Lucy
Phoebe
Emma
Jayne
Charlotte
Trudie
Emily
Jennifer

soapbox · 04/01/2006 22:05

TC - just seen your other thread - I think the name thing will just happen, once you're feeling a bit less down about things!

Give yourself a break - get yourself on an even keel before you drive yourself mad trying to find the 'perfect' name when you're just not in the mood for it

Pollyanna · 04/01/2006 22:12

TC I was in the same position with dds 2 and 3 - Dh just wouldn't agree to the names that I really wanted and that felt right to me and in the end we had to agree on what definitely felt like a compromise. dd2 only got her name the week before the deadline for registering her birth. Now I love the names and I can't imagine the girls being called anything else. I do think that once your baby has a name, you grow to love it because it is your baby's (iyswim).

GoodKingWestCountryLass · 04/01/2006 22:29

Awwww, i'm sorry TC, I thought Pippa was in the bag, you will both find a name that fits, you've got 6 weeks or so. Hang on in there!

nooka · 04/01/2006 22:29

What about other names that include an Evie shortening? Maybe Genevieve? (seems to have a lot of different spellings though) I know an Evie with a full name of Genevieve. Also I'm not sure you should worry too much about names that go together for two reasons. The first is that once you use the names together they will go together IYSWIM, so unless they are really naff together and "clash" in some way I wouldn't worry too much, the other is that if you have any more children it will get even harder to match. Just chose something you like and go with it!

mamandelion · 05/01/2006 16:22

Harriet (Hattie)?
Claudia?
Matilda (Tilly)?
Elizabeth (Libby)?
Tessa (Tess)?
Florence (Flossie/Florrie)
Flora?
