As in when they are tiny and learning to speak obv, not revising for Oxbridge entrance exam...

Mine are 'Larf!' for the note that follows 'Sew' in the song Doe a Dear, 'turk-noise' for turquoise, oh and she likes to eat a nice 'cereal bath' every so often. She has recently adapted 'Grandad' to 'Dadgrandad' having noticed I address him as 'Dad'. My Speech Therapist sister used to encourage her very early habit of saying 'moo' when she saw a dog because she found it hilarious, but I drew the line there...

Bit of indulgence for the weekend and I am sick so could use the distraction!

softasshite · 18/09/2011 03:13

Cop-porn for popcorn. As in "mummy look at that cop porn" at the cinema.

monkeyslut · 18/09/2011 04:33

Not quite so young but DD1 (5) calls The Hulk - The Honk.

Honk SMASH!

doradoo · 18/09/2011 06:34

We have ridiclious and over-tomorrow (for the day after tomorrow)

Just eavesdropped on my boys playing an adventure game. They were travelling to the Eiffel tower and the Colin museum. Thinking they meant coliseum, but am intrigued by museum dedicated to colins

trixymalixy · 18/09/2011 09:29

DS likes playing with the star wars charac-figatures at his grandma's house.

AuntieMonica · 18/09/2011 09:36

DD has always called wrinkles on my forehead my 'brains'

she now calls her forehead her brains too [aw]

it's so endearing when she says 'i can see how big your brains are' when she really means 'christ almighty, you look old today' Grin

msbear · 18/09/2011 09:43

Nyangy - nanny
Kung foo dino flossie - ......posse

LuckyC · 18/09/2011 10:14

Apparently my mother let me say 'oh and barrow' (bow and arrow) for years. My DD is 15 mo so all words are still a bit skew, but 'cuggle' is her sweetest.

Rindercella · 18/09/2011 10:24

DD1 (just 4 with speech delay) a couple of weeks ago: "Muuuum, sometimes when I say obama (banana) I really mean obama (pyjamas)." I laughed. DD1 then asks, "Mummy, who is Obama?"

For the record, she can now identify Barack Obama and knows he's the President of the USA. (or should that be ?)

She also thinks he is a very handsome man

onebigchocolatemess · 18/09/2011 12:26

my little boy insists on calling 'conkers' 'bonkers' which is most amusing when he fills his dump truck full of bonkers Grin

NorksAreMessy · 18/09/2011 22:23

UmmuZiyad · 19/09/2011 04:01

my 27 month old son : -

seven - faven
umbrella - a-bee-la
bus - bigbus
car - bigcar
lorry - biglowee

(he insists on the 'big' for any type of road vehicle)

helicopter - attack (i've no idea where he caught this)
aeroplane - airlane
train - Chuggington (ok this is his fav show at the mo)

one day he said Mommy, chuggington!

i looked around to see if there was any train but of course there was none since we were in a car, in the middle of a highway.

so i asked him 'where is chuggington?'

he replied ' i dont know chuggington'

LOL. i think he wanted to say 'there's no train around'.

since our mother tounge is not english, some of our older relatives cant make out what he is saying at all. well, they just have to keep up with DS', i guess! Wink

sat next to woman on plane who told me her daughter had been telling everyone excitedly she was going to Chicken on holiday....

....we were heading for Turkey Grin

JaneReynolds8 · 21/09/2011 09:14

Little Charlie use to call his mum's bra a 'brasie' (pronounced 'brarzee'). I still call it that to this day!

SuzyLewis · 22/09/2011 22:50

My beautiful niece used to sing

"Prinkle prinkle, wittle star..."

she's 7 now, but we still remind her :)

SuzyLewis · 22/09/2011 22:54

... and my nephew used to ask to play on my DH's 'baby tar'... (Ukelele!!!)

Panzee · 24/09/2011 09:39

My 2.2 son has just proclaimed: "Time O'Clock!" :)

BertieBotts · 24/09/2011 10:59

Cucumber was Kook-tumber for ages Grin

My favourite one of DS' is probably "froom" for "through".

WiiUndead · 11/10/2011 13:39

I can't wait to hear what DS' will be.

Mine included "pidge-man" for "pigeon", "magnet" for "maggot", "breakstast" for "breakfast" and "chimdey" for "chimney". My Grandad came up with a phrase for me based on these: "There's a pidge-man on the chimdey eating magnets for his breakstast" :)

Weirdly, my older Sister called breakfast "foot-foot" Hmm and my Uncle called the Milkman "mickbang"...

twankie · 15/10/2011 07:35

We were fairly upfront with dd2 when she asked 'facts of life' questions when I was pregnant with dd2..but for so long afetrwards she called sperm 'squermies'.

dd2 (now 6) has only just stopped calling 'human-beings', 'phewman-beings'.

In both cases, I preferred their terms

tryingtoleave · 15/10/2011 07:37

Permit pen, for permanent marker.

LoveBeingAWitch · 15/10/2011 07:49

When she sneezes dd says 'bless you me' Grin

TastyMuffins · 15/10/2011 07:57

My DS calls the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) the Dee La La, even more hilarious when learning to read and he said D.L.R spells Dee La La!

The character with the top hat in Thomas was called The Fucking Troller!

More recently, the Bitches for the Butcher's!

widdles · 15/10/2011 08:06

ds is 2.10 and says dds for dvd's
