As in when they are tiny and learning to speak obv, not revising for Oxbridge entrance exam...

Mine are 'Larf!' for the note that follows 'Sew' in the song Doe a Dear, 'turk-noise' for turquoise, oh and she likes to eat a nice 'cereal bath' every so often. She has recently adapted 'Grandad' to 'Dadgrandad' having noticed I address him as 'Dad'. My Speech Therapist sister used to encourage her very early habit of saying 'moo' when she saw a dog because she found it hilarious, but I drew the line there...

Bit of indulgence for the weekend and I am sick so could use the distraction!

DS (6) says By purpose - "X hit me by purpose" which we always find sweet.
DD had been to an athletics club, came home and told us she had been jousting. After long descriptions, it turned out she meant javelin.

friggFRIGG · 10/09/2011 10:05

DD is three she calls a picnic a "Pic-pic"

Grin
msbuggywinkle · 10/09/2011 10:07

DD2 (2 and a half) says penis for peanuts. It is hilarious. Although slightly odd as she knows what a penis is.

MissTinaTeaspoon · 10/09/2011 10:07

Dd told me yesterday that when she was a baby she used to play football with phonecall. She meant Michael Grin

She also asked for gorilla yoghurt once. She meant vanilla Grin

giraffesCantChaChaCha · 10/09/2011 10:10

beebeebop for any kind of lolly/iceloly/icecrem

gillybean2 · 10/09/2011 10:10

Ds was always wanting to have a turn on my compu-kin-ter when he was small. I was very sad when he learnt to say it correctly :(

He also called dalmations dogmations!

noblegiraffe · 10/09/2011 10:11

My two year old says 'shmooozi' for 'excuse me' which I not only love but am finding hard not to adopt myself.

mnistooaddictive · 10/09/2011 10:11

Dd2 who is nearly 3 talks about oppositting to mean sitting opposite. Very cute and quite sensible really!

MissTinaTeaspoon · 10/09/2011 10:11

I forgot mazagine and cardidun (cardigan Grin)

justhavintheone · 10/09/2011 10:15

My 4yo still says oppatuss instead of octopus

faverolles · 10/09/2011 10:17

DS also says that you need to wash hands because there are Germans on them. :o

ModreB · 10/09/2011 10:18

DS3 always used to say Peabut Nutter for Peanut Butter. I was Sad when he learned to say it properly as well

EvaPeron · 10/09/2011 10:19

DS (2.5) "Baa Baa Black Sheep have you merry wool?"

MistyMountainHop · 10/09/2011 10:20

DD (2.4) says "loystick" for ice lolly. as in "lolly stick" :)

stripygiraffe · 10/09/2011 10:21

Also penis for peanuts. Crocilydile is my fave.
She also says 'promise me' instead of I promise. Promise me I'll be a good girl today!

Dillydollydaydream · 10/09/2011 10:22

Icebeena/blackcunnenant for ribena

Tillyscoutsmum · 10/09/2011 10:23

DS (20 months) calls DD Titty (usually loudly in public places Blush

DD used to say "Will you love after me ?" Instead of look after. I thought it was quite fitting

prolificwillybreeder · 10/09/2011 10:24

DS1 says "Uh, Uh, Uh Oh!" when something is really bad. Just "Uh Oh" for minor incidents.
Not as good as the above ones but I find the number of uh's to determine the severity of a situation hilarious!

fishandlilacs · 10/09/2011 10:24

wastamouse

Whisiks (daddy's beard)

Targ (guitar)

Dawndonna · 10/09/2011 10:28

DD1 used to declare a meal dishless (delicious) if he enjoyed it. We still use it, he's almost 27!

tethersend · 10/09/2011 10:33

DD splashes in the cuddles.

thereistheball · 10/09/2011 10:33

DD renames things in her head, so we have 'Sleepy Dreamy' for Sleeping Beauty and Doggy Spots for 101 Dalmatians.

Bourbonchops · 10/09/2011 10:37

Farmer Christmas instead of Father Christmas- loved that one!
