Ha ha I did that at the end of last cycle when I started thinking I might be pg. It really is psychological torture. My biggest concern is that I know it's going to be really difficult to persuade DH to SWI each time, so I think there'll be a lot of months where we don't really time it well but I still have to endure the agony of the 2ww on the off chance.

I bought an automatic cat feeder this morning, in the hope that it will take care of the 3 and 4am feeds so I can temp more accurately.

AmandaCooper · 03/06/2011 13:10

Whywait what's the pineapple juice for? Is there a TTC old wives tale that I'm not already implementing? [incredulous]

ShaggingWithIntent · 03/06/2011 13:32

It apparently contains an enzyme called bromelain, which is supposed to somehow aid in implantation. Only the fresh stuff though, not the timmed version.

It might be utter hocus pocus but I'll be having pineapple for breakfast next month during my 2WW!!

If it's tough to persuade DH to SWI then get the pins out and make sure all the condoms are accessorised with holes, then make sure your shagging is "suitably energetic" and cross your fingers :) !!!

AmandaCooper · 03/06/2011 17:42

Detox only in the very loosest sense of the word, i.e. no wild rock star type shennanigans ha ha!

AmandaCooper · 03/06/2011 18:40

Still no AF, SWI?

squirrel007 · 03/06/2011 19:37

jbells how are you doing?

bebe did you make your elderflower cordial? I love elderflower drinks, never made it myself though!

SWI that sounds like a very stressful day, how are things now? Sounds complicated with your sis, and I hope they work things out.

whywait sounds like you're having a lovely week at your parents! And it's very exciting about the pram Grin I liked the silvercross ones, they look very stylish, but we went with an icandy one in the end (although not new, an ebay bargain!). Sorry to hear DH's parents are disinterested - I think I have it the other way round, my mum is less interested but the ILs are super excited!

100years glad the GTT was fine :) But really annoying to be harassed about your weight.

Amanda love your checklist, sounds like you're well prepared! FX that your weekends away don't clash with ov though, as that would be really bad luck!

Things are good here, although after a few high lunchtime blood sugar readings, I've given in and started on the insulin today at lunchtime. Strangely morning and evenings are fine, it's just lunch that's a problem at the moment! Was very proud that I managed to inject myself properly as I wasn't sure I could do it.

I'm also planning to finish up the baby shopping this weekend :) There's not much left to get, just a car seat and some bedding. Got a moses basket from ebay this week, and the pram last week, so I think we're mostly sorted! After this weekend, I think we are just waiting for baby to turn up Grin

AmandaCooper · 03/06/2011 20:32

Eeeek I don't know how you managed to do the injection I'd be so squeamish if it was me! Does it hurt less to inject yourself or more?

Squirrel you are so close now, only a few weeks away from having your baby! Can't believe how time has flown.

AmandaCooper · 03/06/2011 20:42

OMG DH has just had a proper conversation with me about us TTC this month! He agrees we have to properly go for it on the fertile days and he wants to pull it off first try! He says he can imagine how stressful it will be for me if it goes on month after month.

ShaggingWithIntent · 03/06/2011 20:49

Hurrah!! A TTC breakthrough with Mr AC!!!

ShaggingWithIntent · 03/06/2011 20:52

Oh, and still no sign of AF!
Have just spent an hour having cuddles with out neighbors DD who is 12 weeks. So cute!!!

AmandaCooper · 03/06/2011 21:00

Omg what cruel torture. I had a raster of this last month and it is far from pleasant. I was obsessing like mad, never thought of another thing, couldn't even function at work. Really feel for you.

ShaggingWithIntent · 03/06/2011 21:06

Yup. Staring at FF trying to see something in my chart, can't concentrate on work, feeling sick, backache, utter exhaustion and the worry about DSis. It's all driving me completely insane!!

Great news for you though? You must be so excited!!!

squirrel007 · 03/06/2011 21:30

Yay Amanda, that's great news from your DH Grin given his earlier stance, this must mean he's fully on board (even if he won't quite admit it!).

The injection is actually painless - the needle is very fine and short, and you stick it in fatty bits (tummy or thighs) so it's surprisingly easy. Pricking your finger to test sugar level hurts a lot more. And I can't believe how close I am either! I'm 34 weeks now, and I know that with GD they won't let me go over 40 weeks, so definitely less than 6 weeks to go Confused

SWI sorry to hear about all the exhaustion and worry - I hope things calm down over the weekend!

AmandaCooper · 03/06/2011 21:50

That's exactly how I was, slightly amending this temp or that temp to see of it made any difference; going for a wee every few minutes; obsessing like mad; even cupping my tummy Luke there might be something in there!

Squirrel 6 weeks is nothing. What's your birth plan?

bebejones · 03/06/2011 22:01

Squirrel - 6 weeks! Shock That has gone SO fast!! (Well maybe not for you! Wink) Well done with the insulin injection, the first one is always the most nerve wracking! Did make the elderflower, it is sat in the pan infusing overnight & I'll strain it & bottle it 2moro. It is SO easy & really cheap to make, much cheaper (& yummier) than the stuff you can buy!!

SWI - are you testing again 2moro?

AC - Whoop! What a breakthrough!! Can MrAC have words with MrBebe?! Wink

strawberrypie · 03/06/2011 22:21

Hi, just popping in to give Mr AC a Whoop-Whoop!!! Yey! It must be so good to hear him being positive about TTC and not about some mystical point in the future but about NOW! Great news!

FX SWI that you get a BFP tomorrow. Have you had any trace of a line in the ones you have done?

OMG squirrel! 6 weeks to go! That does seem to have gone quickly...I bet you feel good now that you have got nearly everything ready x

AmandaCooper · 03/06/2011 23:23

Bebe it's probably a bit early to send him out on the lecture circuit! FX he stats on board. He's still talking about if now!

ShaggingWithIntent · 04/06/2011 10:01

What a start to the weekend. DSis now single and AF arrived 30 mins after the call from my Mum. I really can't face a weekend at the inlaws now :(

AmandaCooper · 04/06/2011 10:02

SWI any news??? Still no AF here.

AmandaCooper · 04/06/2011 10:03

Shit worst xposting ever sorry SWI on both counts.

bebejones · 04/06/2011 10:12

Oh no SWI :( Poor DSis & poor you :(

Quodlibet · 04/06/2011 14:09

Oh SWI what terrible news from your sister. Is there a chance they'll be able to work something out - it sound like it stems from principles/expectations rather than about how they feel about each other, which is sad.

Sorry your AF turned up too - on the positive side your chart is super-clear (not like mine which was pretty frustrating and uninterpretable for a couple of months) so at least you've got some really clear knowledge and indicators going forward...(plus a bit more SWI!)

Feel like there should be trumpets announcing the Conversion of MrAC! Hurrah!
