:( Did he call it off then leave, no explanation? Really hope that they can sort it out, must be so upsetting & stressful for you all!

ShaggingWithIntent · 02/06/2011 10:45

Sort of.

He lives a looooooong way from her and because of her career he'd have to move to live where she lives. He knew this when he proposed but now it seems he's worrying that he won't settle where she lives (ridiculous as it's lovely there and he's bloody lucky to have the opportunity of being with the woman he loves and never having to worry about not having a home - her "job" is in the family business and comes with a home for life)

She is quite a stickler for not moving in with a man unless she is married and so they currently live 400 miles (an 8 hour drive) apart. He's now saying he wants to move in with her and "see if he can settle" which is fine but the implication is that if he can't then he will call it off and move back home.

She's gutted and has no idea what to do. I've told her to give it a try but she's worried about getting hurt and doesn't think she can cope with that. I just want it to all be resolved now (one way or another) so we can move forwards.

So I have no idea if the nausea, headaches, tiredness etc is down to possible PG or stress!!!

I live a 3 hour drive from her too so not exactly easy for me to pop over and give her a hug :(

bebejones · 02/06/2011 13:08

:( Oh no, that just sounds so awful. Can totally see both sides from an outsider PoV but he is being a teensy bit unreasonable. Can he maybe rent somewhere nearer to her for 6 months rather than move in? Must be so horrid for you & your DSis. She must be all over the place, like you said, he knew what he was going to have to do when he proposed! Is his family all near to where he lives currently? Will he have to change jobs?

What a nightmare! :(

Trying to make a clay cupcake for my mum for her Birthday, MIL is out so no cordial making for me til 2moro :o Told ya I lead an exciting life!!

WW - What about this sort of thing you are after? Kiddicare are quite good. John Lewis also good for this sort of thing :)

Got DN a couple of board books with bright colours & textured bits in. Tricky locally to get things for babies, and just didn't want to have to trek to Gloucester or Bristol in half term!

100years · 02/06/2011 15:41

Hello everyone :)

My GTT was normal, was told the results when I saw the consultants yesterday. :) HAd an awful appointment, they were quite rude to me about my weight etc and although I know they need to inform me of the risks and things like that, but I was spoken to like a piece of poo and was upset by it afterwards. Will be having growth scans every 3 weeks, so will see LO again in 3 weeks time :) woohoo.

Away on holibobs tomorrow :) Probably won't be on here much, if at all, place we are going to has little signal, but that will be quite nice to be away from the internet and chill.

jbells, really sorry you are having a rough time. What ever happens, if you take him back or don't you will get through this, don't worry about what you tell your friends just now, it's very early on in things to be saying x y or z happened, but don't forget that if they are your real friends then they will stick by you whatever you choose to do.

AC, sorry about the kitten comment form your DH. You are having a bad run on evilbay :( Sorry you didn't get the job :( Poop.

squirrel, glad you have had a good week on the 'diet' although I know it's not a diet as such, but it's good that you are controlling it well :) How are you feeling?

bebe, enjoy the birthday party, what a milestone, how early was he?

Quod, the GTT was a Glucose Tolerance Test to check for Gestational Diabetes. Thanks re the pic :) Have had some lovely comments, I don't think it's the best pic of me, but I'm smily and very happy :)

Hiya Nanny :) Glad you had a good weekend :) Sorry to hear about your Dad, strokes are not nice and affect people in ways that some people just don't realise. I hope you manage to find a solution that works for all of you, having power of attorney is hard, but it's done for a reason, and you will make the right decision for him.

SWI, It's fine to be envious of people who are pg, honestly, just shows you want it too. Sorry about your sis and the deployment of the wedding.

WW Enjoy your spoils :) And lovely news about the pram :)

Re the kitten on the plus side it only goes to show how much he loves having the kitten to look after, really he is like a stupidly over-indulgent mother hen. He's obviously going to be a fantastic father and completely love it too.

Just need to trick convince him!

AmandaCooper · 02/06/2011 17:56

Bebe that bedding is adorable!

It's not exactly nature red in tooth and claw though - when Whywait said "jungle theme" I imagined something very dramatic!

bebejones · 02/06/2011 18:35

So did I, just couldn't find anything bright coloured in Cot size! :(

AmandaCooper · 02/06/2011 20:33

Perhaps there's a gap in the market for terrifying baby linen!

bebejones · 02/06/2011 21:15

I know, it's all cute & pretty & pastel...Hmm

How amazing is this

And how cute would this be for a baby? Wink

Something with skulls & crossbones on would also be awesome!! :o

ShaggingWithIntent · 02/06/2011 22:03

Love it!!!
I'm starting to get some mild cramps this evening...... Trying tonremain positive but it's not looking good. It looks as though I could be heading for my "super healthy plan" (said if we had no luck after 3 months I'd ditch booze, exercise regularly again and alter my diet) looks like I could be ordering a copy of "the bible" tomorrow!!!!

AmandaCooper · 02/06/2011 22:32

Oh no! Sorry to hear that SWI (but would secretly like it if we were TTC at the same time).

I've been completely overdosing on veg and wholegrains recently and I've got a carton of grapefruit juice ready to go in the fridge plus omega 3-6-9 capsules. Should be CD1 any day now!

AmandaCooper · 02/06/2011 22:34

Nannyl sorry to be a massive pain in the you know where but could you please remind me which days I have to sleep in the dark again?

ShaggingWithIntent · 02/06/2011 22:59

I'm going to hit the grapefruit juice too. Can't hurt to try right?

Just spoken to DSis who's really nervous about tomorrow. He hasn't called her since Monday and hasn't contacted her, only responded to her messages. She's preparing herself for him ending it. The poor thing.

AmandaCooper · 03/06/2011 07:06

It has to be real juice, not from concentrate. Apparently a wine glass sized portion a day from CD1 is what is required. It tastes foul apparently, perhaps mix with lemonade?

I should really ask whether youve got any news for us, instead of launching into conversation about juice! Do you?

Don't know what to say re your dsis, it's an unusual situation. Him moving up for a trial does seem the obvious next step, even if it does mean a job change. Your poor dsis must be frantic.

ShaggingWithIntent · 03/06/2011 07:14

Yes. Will make sure it's not from concentrate. And get some pineapple in for the 2ww too!!!

No news this morning. No AF and a BFN. Might post my chart later to see if any of you FF experts can help work it out?!?!

AmandaCooper · 03/06/2011 08:27

How was your temp? Still up? Yes post your chart, I love a good chart!

I'm starting to worry that my OV next cycle might clash with the weekend DH and I are off on separate hen and stag dos. That would be sods law at it's most triumphant because we're almost never apart.

ShaggingWithIntent · 03/06/2011 08:57

Well my temp was still above the coverline this morning but down from yesterday. However I woke up at 5:00 and didn't take it then and sort of drifted back to sleep. I wasn't woken up by my alarm and so have no idea what time I actually woke up but I took my temp at about 6am and I'm sure I'd been semi awake for a bit.

It's all so confusing!

Thought I was going to throw up on my way to work this morning and am feeling so rough!

My Ovulation Chart - hopefully this works!

ShaggingWithIntent · 03/06/2011 08:58

oh that would suck if you and DH were away at your fertile time. I know all to well how crap that can be!

Has AF arrived yet? Looking forward to having a cycle buddy on here to keep me sane!

AmandaCooper · 03/06/2011 09:17

I'm hoping she doesn't show up for a few more days to give us chance to avoid the weekend of 17th.

Your waking temp would have been lower, it can rise quite a bit in an hour. That doesn't mean you should give up hope though, it would still have been above the coverline.

ShaggingWithIntent · 03/06/2011 09:34

Hmmmm
I can see today being a stressful one with DSis' dramas and me being on the constant watch for AF. Bring on 4:30 so I can go home!

WW - I think bumpers & quilts are cotton with poly filling. Think that is fairly standard. Obviously unwise to use feather/down etc incase LO has allergies. Quilts are a no no until 1 year at least, but are good to make the cot/nursery look tidy, & we had one that we used to take to peoples houses so we could put DD on the floor to roll around etc. Bumpers until they can roll over/sit up IIRC. Flat sheets really useful for swaddling & tucking in in the early days (before sleeping bag) ditto blankets. Plus we used small (moses basket size) blankets in the car seat for ages as DD was so uncooperative with all in ones in the Winter. (She was about 4-6months then) A coat and blanket worked fine. :)

SWI - Lines & graphs confuse me, so I won't comment!! FX for your sister & FX for you too!

AC - That would SUCK!! Lots of BD before you go & as soon as you come back?

AF is due here just in time for my friends wedding...typical! I'm wearing a white cotton dress with big flowers on it. I normally avoid white...and skirts/dresses when AF is in town!! Hmm Whats the betting that she won't be 6 days early this month & will arrive bang on time?!

ShaggingWithIntent · 03/06/2011 12:29

Damn it! AF seems to be arriving at bad times for everyone this month. Still no sign here yet but I've had to go to the loo every hour today to pee! Driving me mad!!!
