aah the 80's. i was a new romantic, but with a hint of goth: duran , japan, visage,ultravox, bauhaus,etc

i remember there being two kinds of styles at school: casuals with their wedge hair styles, farah slacks and gabicci jumpers, and us lot in our black black and more black clothes. i remember trying to run for the bus wearing a long tweedy hobble skirt, victorian lace up boots, lace fingerless gloves and a straw hat with a pearl hat pin. this was with my hairstyle that involved wearing bits of my brothers meccano in some sort of metallic dreadlock stylee! i must have looked like a 16 year old miss marple!

loved smash hits, nme and melody maker, but also my guy, photo love and my guy magazines.

oh and who remembers buying two oz of toffee crumble and a qtr of sweet peanuts that got stuck in your teeth?
