Flicks nightclub in Brechin

Hitman and Her

spidermama · 20/10/2005 22:34

mawbroon. Brechin wis it? Mechty me!

spidermama · 20/10/2005 22:36

OK East coast of Scotland people. Do you remember the advert from the eighties which said,
'That'll be the chicken soup then.'
'No Hughie, that'll be the pea and ham.'
'Pea and ham? Fae a chicken? Noo that's cliver'.

Plenty more useless crap like that in my heed.

mawbroon · 20/10/2005 22:37

Oh something to do with a hen night was it? Knorrs stock cubes or the like????

spidermama · 20/10/2005 22:38

Baxters I believe.

Dodsey · 20/10/2005 22:41

That add is quoted regularly in our family! Flicks nightclub, what a blast from the past, only went once & felt I'd been to Stringfellows or something!! Mind you "Smokies" in Arbroath was more my scene!

hatstand · 20/10/2005 22:44

my local nite spot was called - wait for it - Fanny's . The other one was a bit more subtle - Climax 2000

spidermama · 20/10/2005 22:44

Now and again we travelled to the Wag in Dundee. You would've been closer to that then dodsey?

SerahScarer · 20/10/2005 22:48

Hatstand

Dodsey · 20/10/2005 22:55

Don't understand Spidermama, there was a club in Arbroath called "Smokies" , just checked my facts with DH. We can't remember "Wag" unless you think i'm being a wag!

spidermama · 20/10/2005 23:00

I'll check the name with my sister. Maybe it wasn't the Wag. There was a club in Dundee which was supposed to be cool we went to which also had bands of the era. Hmmmm. It's going back a bit.

TicTacsMum · 20/10/2005 23:42

Spidermama - Nobody I know can eat Pea & Ham soup without saying 'Pea & Ham - Fae a Chicken!'

TicTacsMum · 20/10/2005 23:43

Top Deck shandy & pretending to be drunk on it!
