You watched the very first episode of Eastenders. And the first episode of Brookside, come to that.

spookyserenity · 20/10/2005 16:52

I remember the first issue of Just 17 coming out, with lovely dayglo sweatbands on the front. That was the only girly one I read though, far more into Smash Hits and No1!

bundle · 20/10/2005 16:55

Ahhh - I remember the electric blue eyeshadow, but it had to be worn with electric blue eyeliner and electric blue mascara. It gets worse..... along with electric blue plastic button earrings (made my ears go septic but didn't stop wearing them), electric blue court shoes with ankle socks, electric blue wide leather belt over a huge blouse and electric blue fake leather tie/bow tie (my school didn't have a uniform). Also had equally attractive ensembles in shocking pink and jade green

MI - we need a 70's thread - trouble is we'd get a load of 'kids' coming on, saying they weren't born or something!!

DH was first spotted in his Miami Vice period, pale green cotton blazer rolled up at the sleeves, pink v-neck T and white trousers. However, I was in my Fame period. Peach leggings, oversized silk shirt with a chunky belt round my hips.Hair permed to the extreme & a pleated head-band across my forehead.Honestly, & we thought we had it. Thank goodness we had each other!!!

moondog · 20/10/2005 17:43

elitemeetupCOD · 20/10/2005 17:44

sam suit?

Gameboy · 20/10/2005 17:47

NO - can't relate to this (although I was a teen in the 80's)

Was anyone else a 'throwback hippy'/ heavy metal 80's child?:

  • Indian cotton tops and skirts (or with worn out jeans
  • Patchouly oil
  • Joss sticks
  • genesis/ Led Zepplin/ AC/dc; all still goign strong/ Deep Purple
  • Army surplus green jacket to wear on top
  • leather boots
  • embroidered denim jackets - some with tassles (I was the girl favoured by all the boys at the Youth club 'cos I could do the embroidered stuff on the back
  • head-banging with long hair (girls and boys)
  • black eyeliner
  • and everyone drove a Citroen Dyane

WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT???????

overdraft · 20/10/2005 17:50

sam suit was a towel like material tracksuit thing.i used to wear mine with desert boots.
