Rosa, happy to hear the party went well and you all had a lovely time with your sister.
Yesterday was my mother's 70 birthday, and I now have a hungover Hmm!!!

BananaGio · 12/03/2012 07:26

hope the hangover has past Franca- takes me 2 days now to recover from one [old emoticon]. did your mum have a good birthday?
Nice that your sister was over Rosa. Have you flopped now party over? I always find ds's parties draining!
Went to Follonica this weekend to stay with friends and they have found us a lovely apartment for August so am happy. It was gorgeous there, I love mare out of season.

Francagoestohollywood · 12/03/2012 11:17

Gio, yes, I feel better now. I even went for a swim today and it's been a productive morning.
Follonica is in a lovely part of the world, I bet it was stunning yesterday (given that it was lovely even hear in dusty Milan!) and I love the seaside out of season too!
Glad to hear you found a place for the holidays.

Rosa · 12/03/2012 12:09

Well done Gio on getting a flat . I saw the pics on FB ds looked if he had a great time !
Tee hee Franca hope the hangover was worth it . I daren't drink nowadays well just an odd glass of wine as I just don't absorb it as I used to !
The party wa really good and I am tired but I actually enjoy all the cooking that goes with it all. Minirosa staying in materna until 3 this afternoon feel really strange !!!!

Francagoestohollywood · 12/03/2012 13:13

I didn't drink much to be honest, probably 3 glasses. But I mixed. Ohhhhh getting too old.

Rosa, enjoy the freedom!

Rosa · 12/03/2012 13:43

Franca I feel your pain , I did champagne and gin at my dads birthday and regretted it last year !!!! Dh has just reminded me that we have nipotinas communione in a month Oh *** what do I wear ? Last one I was pregnant with minirosa so it was easy. Then for the christening of both of mine I was still fat ( well fatter than now) so again I had no choice....Arrgghhh pooo I hate these kind of events.

Francagoestohollywood · 12/03/2012 14:13

I know rosa, I used to get so excited about dressing formally in the past, but I am totally fed up now and don't really fancy spending too much money on something I will wear once. Thankfully, I think all my friends and relatives have got married... so I don't need to worry anymore! (no chance of comunioni or similar as we aren't religious...)

Have you looked online? John Lewis maybe?

Rosa · 12/03/2012 17:08

Just found out that Debenhams have started delivering to Italy ... I like some of the childrens stuff...I have decided that whatever I buy it is going to have a second use so its not going to be mega formal....

Francagoestohollywood · 13/03/2012 17:39

Yes i agree no need to go mega formal. I have discovered Cos and would order lots of stuff, but trying to restrain myself!

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 14/03/2012 10:36

Hello girls!!!! I was passing by and thought I pop in to say hello! Have not been around for ageeeees!

How are you all???

Smile
Rosa · 14/03/2012 11:27

Pippppiiiiii Ciao cara lovely to come in and say Hi hope that you stay for a while ! We have had a ill free Autumn and then a huge bout of the usual bugs etc . Inc dd1 whilst on holiday ! However I have just planted some mini daffodils outside on my balcony so I am in hope that spring is here and all the nasties have gone. How are you and the little ones?

Francagoestohollywood · 14/03/2012 11:41

Pippi, you know we really miss you Smile

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 14/03/2012 11:46

Rosa how is your new home? I left you that you were just about to buy it! tell me all please (proprety porn fix), do you love it, is it finished?

dds very well thanks, really grown up and lovely.

I am ok. Hearing the rumbles of what feels a major earthquake but standing tall(ish). Smile

BananaGio · 14/03/2012 17:59

yay Pippiiiiii you are back. Stay!! What's new? What earthquake? All OK?
Lovely and warm today but with a slight wind that was described by an Italian friend as being "strange air" to lots of nods from others and accompanied by much talk of colpa d'aria etc Hmm. I on the other hand was happy to have a breeze to brush away the cobwebs due to girls night out and subsequent hangover

OP posts:
Francagoestohollywood · 14/03/2012 19:33

haha Gio, I've seen the pic on fb, you look like you are all having a lovely time Smile

Very hot here today, no sign of colpi d'aria. I am super tired though, not sure if it's because I walk too much or the spring air!

Rosa · 17/03/2012 14:45

Pippi we renovated it took about 10 months and then moved in. Its smaller than what we had before but I really like it. It still needs booksheòves and shelves and some pictures oh and tendine on a small window that is driving dh mad... other than that its lovely. It would be great if it had an extra room and we would be set for ever!
Minirosa going theough a terrible tantrum period really tyesting on all of us esp me as it is all directed at me. Have tried just about everything but dd1 is starting to suffer as well I can see it. Oh well this too will pass I just wish it would bloody well hurry up !
Been cooking this afternoon instead of doing English preperation...opps maybe Dh will take both the dds to the park so I can have some peace so I could do it all in 30 mins then iron....however I expect not as both with bikes is a handful ..Mind yo I manage it !

Francagoestohollywood · 19/03/2012 11:01

Rosa, sorry to hear about the tantrums, what a nightmare. What sets her off? Do you think she is just trying to impose her personality or is she seeking attention because she is jealous of dd1?
You poor thing!!!

Rosa · 19/03/2012 13:43

I think she is just ushing the boundries and it is aimed more at me testing me on anything and everything. I posted on development and had some helpful answers so I am going to really try and put my foot down , star charts , naughty step the lot and hopefully put a stop to it. Thing is its just constant that it wears me down.
Just started raining here which is good as a) the crops in Padania need it and b) Venice needs a wash !!! DOn't think its going to last that long though ...

Francagoestohollywood · 19/03/2012 14:51

Yes, I agree. Pick your battles and be firm. It will pass of course, but in the meantime... here, have a Wine!

No sign of rain whatsoever here. I think it rained a little yesterday, but we were at the inlaws. We need some rain too.

Rosa · 20/03/2012 14:00

Can I have the bottle please.Yesterday after a spiteful pushing to her sister it took 1hr15 mins for her to understand she had to sit in time out for 3 mins. I won so was feeling pretty chuffed. Then she had her revenge in the night with being a complete brat and screaming the place down waking us , the neighbours and probably the next block as well. She was demanding water- not that cup, dad, no mum , the heated cat ( like a grain bag), cuddle , no leave me alone and shouting inbetween, very loudly. I have had enough .... I can't have her doing this at nights but its becoming a habbit. Every other night . She just seems constantly at battle with me but happy at school....

Francagoestohollywood · 20/03/2012 14:35

Gosh, sounds awful rosa, here's the bottle!

I have no idea what to suggest, especially at night. Does she react the same way if it's dh going to check on her at night?

Sputnik · 21/03/2012 10:02

Hi everyone! Rosa you are talking to a tantrum veteran, we went through a lot with DS. You have to ignore ignore ignore, not easy when your blood pressure is rising and you want to run off screaming to Patagonia, but you have to give no attention to this behaviour, and extra attention to the positive stuff. I'm sure you know this but it's bloody hard, I know.

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 21/03/2012 11:50

Hello Sputnik, I am still here!!!! Just too busy living inside my head Sad.

Francagoestohollywood · 21/03/2012 13:52

Ciao Sputnik!
Rosa, I hope yesterday night was a bit better.

Pippi Smile (encouraging and friendly smile)

Rosa · 21/03/2012 15:19

SPut thanks for the encouragement the days we can ignore or do the naughty step - which I think might work as she is talking about not going on there as she doesn't like it. Its the screaming in anger at a volume that goes through you and you want to scream back SHUT UP FOR GODS SAKE . But so for apart from the other night I am holding back. AT night it is worse as everything is 1000 worse. LAst night she kicked off at 23.00 not as bad as 03.00 but I was in bed from 9pm so I still felt like sh*t. Anyway she came into our bed and I went into hers at 1am as I couldn't take Dh snoring and her moving . This morning no star on the star chart for her . DD1 is now on 4 stars and thankfully I managed to find a pinypon fairy for her ( she wants it when she gets to 10 stars)today as I went and spent lots of dh money .
I went to Oltre and got an outfit for me for the comunione and it is all stuff that I will wear again .. ( black trousers cotton straight to skinny) a sort of tunic thing with 3/4 sleeves in black , cream and beige and then a long thin cardigan . A pair of shoes and a cheap bag and I am set.
FOr teh Dds I bought stuff from Oviesse really nice a cute dress for minirosa and then the same material in a skirt for dd1 - both have the same scalda cuori then H&M had 50% on cotton trench coats ( well pleased). Have to get some ballerine for minirosa which I will look on zara website. DH has yet to see my purchases or the bills..... I did buy him an iphone armband thing for when he goes running !
Pippi we are are here for you don't abandon us please......
