I'd wait another day and perhaps ring the paed tomorrow, if still temp?

Fingers crossed for dd. She deserves a lovely birthday party Smile

Today it's swimming pool day, and it looks like it might start to rain again. Ma che 2 palle I say.

Rosa · 01/03/2011 14:52

MMm thats what I am thinking will see how tonight goes . We have a Bora going on down here which is blowing big time. Also found that one of my shutters doesn't have a fermo on it ..Its a small one so maybe they thought it diddn't need one ..Wrong ....another phone call.
I am going to have to go out as well and my sinuses are in a mess as I used that Rinazina spray as I couldn't breathe on Sunday so with the wind on top me thinks Aerosol a tt forza x me dopo.
Franca dd is sooo excited it almost makes me want to cry. We have been making lists of food, decorations friends etc for this party we even changed location so she could have the animatrice that she likes - its the gym instructors daughter. She has been so good with the collar bone thing . Yes she has been spoilt but she hasn't whinged or complained that she hasn't been to school which she adores. She saw her teacher on Sunday and she threw herself at her hugs and kisses......

Francagoestohollywood · 01/03/2011 15:02

She'll be 5, won't she? Birthdays are so important at her age, bless her. Dd has been planning hers since January and she was born on the 23rd of may!!!

Off to pick them up

Sputnik · 01/03/2011 20:14

Oh Rosa I do hope miniR is better soon and everthing is fine for your DD's party, she deserves a bit of spoiling! Tell us about the cake?

Francagoestohollywood · 01/03/2011 21:49

Oh yes rosa. The cake!

Rosa · 02/03/2011 10:50

Bora vento and freddo here.
MInirosa seems better ish today tired however !
The cake is my biggest challenge ever. I am doing Trillis house ...Well the teapot is on top of a big rectangle. The rest will be leaves, flowers and butterflies. I ahve 6 mini faries to put on the top.
The teapot at the moment is 2 half balls of rice krispie treats waiting to be put together with butter icing and then covered.. This evenings challenge. I have never done anything like this and have been watching the Cake Boss and Le Torte di Toni !!!

Francagoestohollywood · 02/03/2011 11:51

Rosa, remember to take pics and post them! I am so impressed-
Yes, freezing here too, and grey.
We are supposed to go to the mountains next week (vacanze di carnevale), I do hope the weather turns. Basta freddo!

Rosa · 02/03/2011 13:01

It is soo cold here we should have another day of Bora and then looking ahead it might turn. Normally round dd birthday it starts to get better....mind you with this years weather who knows.
I put 2 tende up and MIl came round her words' Well if you like them '...Mmmmmmm
Skiing for Carnevale week you are brave teh slopes are packed but at least it has snowed now !

Francagoestohollywood · 02/03/2011 13:38

Oh dear your mil Rosa!

I know, it is going to be packed, but couldn't do differently, really. I know people who take their children at different times, but I don't want them to miss an entire week of school at this stage (esp ds, they work too much!!!)

Sputnik · 02/03/2011 20:52

The cake sounds amazing!
Nasty weather here too. I am knackered.

SuiGeneris · 02/03/2011 21:10

Quick ciao and marking my place...

Sputnik · 02/03/2011 21:17

Oh hi SG!

BananaGio · 03/03/2011 07:38

def post photos of that cake Rosa, sounds amazing. hope dd's ok for her party bless her. Can't you push MIL in a canal or something? Or is it just me who entertains overwhelming thoughts of doing such things to an inlaw?
Hi SG, hows things?
Franca Envy at skiing. Basta with this pioggia!!! Bored bored bored of winter, its meant to be raining this weekend as well and ds is so looking forwarding to doing some parading around in his carnival gear!
Any ideas what I can get for a friends daughters baptism? DPs friends daughter, nothing too expensive??

Rosa · 03/03/2011 08:32

SNowing here ..
1st bit of cake done I made the teapot !!!!!
Gio a baby book 1st few years kind of thing. You can get them from Demetra for present find it always goes down well !
I should be writing a fax so better go ...

Francagoestohollywood · 03/03/2011 14:12

Gio, can I say Zara Home? They have lovely blankets/towels/bedlinens (some more traditional than others: they are doing a range using Liberty fabric)! Not sure if it's ok for baptism though, it depends on the family I suppose.
More conventional Italians would prefer a posh frame or posh photo album. I'd prefer a quirky quilt from zara home!

Francagoestohollywood · 03/03/2011 14:14

I feel I should add that it is freezing here, cold wind and an annoying pioggerellina.
Enough!!! I want springIwantspringIwantspring (i went into a shop today to get a present for sil and dh's aunt, and there were so many lovely summer dresses...)

Rosa · 06/03/2011 09:55

Franca have a wonderful time. OK so all went super fantastic great yesterday and I will post pics when Dh gets them downloaded.. I am shattered in fact minirosa is asleep on the sofa right now.....

Sputnik · 06/03/2011 16:08

Oh that's great Rosa!

Sputnik · 08/03/2011 14:10

Where is everyone?
DD has been really poorly and probably has tonsillitis, it is a real struggle to get her to take her medicine and we are only on day 1. Blah. So I am stuck at home again, DS is on half term so we are all here. I have to have a MRI this afternoon for my buggered shoulder and I am actully looking forward to it as constituting some me time.

Rosa · 08/03/2011 14:21

I'm here ...Oh no sorry about dd you have had your fill as well this winter. medcine I would just go for sheer bribery ..smarties work here along with icecream! MRI wear a t shirt instead of a bra or a bra with no metal bits in !!! Let us know how it goes on. Ihave both dds at home til domani then minirosa goes back but she has a nice runny nose right now so we will see. Thank god carnival finished its been chaotic !

Sputnik · 08/03/2011 14:43

Oh thanks for the bra tip!
Chocolate bribery was my first resort but it has now escalated into we will go to the toyshop and choose something when she's better. I have also threatened her with hospital and needles! She still moans for 15 minutes and drags it out to the max!

BananaGio · 08/03/2011 18:58

poor DD Sput! Tonsillitis is the worst! Is it medicine you can disguise in anything? Enjoy your 10 mins of me time in the scanning machine Smile
ds also ill. had 38 fever yesterday but the eve was fine and running around. so this morn he was packed off to school by me, also because they had a martedi grasso party I wanted him to be there for. DP was full of dire warnings re fevers returning if kids arent kept off for a few days. I dismissed him in my northern european anglo saxon way, picked up ds at lunch-sure enough fever, came home and fell asleep on sofa. Cue phone conversation involving lots if "ti ho detto's" from dp and ending with me putting the phone down on him. Have now stuffed my face with pancakes and dp is round at FILS where they are no doubt debating the shortcomings of British parenting!
And breathe...
Any pics of your cake Rosa? So glad it went well

Rosa · 08/03/2011 19:35

Oh bugg**r forgot the pancakes lark with the dds..... Dh has o upload teh pics and then I will post one...

Rosa · 08/03/2011 19:36

Gio this febbre thing could be the ( sorry) few day one that vanishes in the am and them pops up in the pm.... Not many other symptoms possibly a cold towards the end,,,,,,

Sputnik · 08/03/2011 21:28

We have had to postpone pancake day.
There seem to be some wierd bugs about, DS also came into our bed early this morning with fever, but has been ok all day, just a bt of a cough. I really hope he doesn't need ABs any time soon as I've no idea how we would get them in him.

Anyway, I did find the MRI kind of relaxing, after 20 minutes I was kind of getting used to it. Will see the doc tomorrow but basically I seem to have problems with various muscles and tendons and god knows what, I can't raise my arm above my head anymore. Hopefully some physiotherapy can sort it out.

We are a wreck, as a family!
