Emilio Fede and co
at having to watch the pimpmeister et al.
And fucking veline draped over bad shows just to add insult to injury.
I understand the urge to boycott the entire group, but that is hard strategy to build up critical mass with, and even harder to maintain. Makes more sense to me to appeal to the self interest of the companies that react to "bad news". It is easy to persuade people to compliment and consume the products of deserting advertisers and to continue to do so on a regular, very noisey basis. Cos it costs nothing but time and is a positive action rather than a negative, self sacrificing one.
So instead of "I boycott Nestle", you get "I support and seek out the X company's product, cos they have PRINCIPLES !!!!" campaigns.
Has to be worth a try to see if positive enforcement that is effectively a mode of provoking economic sanctions for wrong doers has a greater impact than the up till now mainly negative enforcement via boycotts.
I say this not least cos I know enough people who publicly declare they boycott Nestle, but in fact consume the products privately. Although admittedly it is harder to hide the hacking great satellite dish on your house compared to the contents of your cupboards (=
I think trying to get people to boycott Sky is a hiding to nothing and a lost opportunity to try something a little fresher, that stands a better chance of working cos it appeals to people self interest (I still get my telly AND I get to consume other goods AND I can feel good about my purchase cos this lot withdrew advertising) and their desire to make a point.
