We have grembiule here, I still haven't established if it's a good idea or not. I am all for school uniform's though, but I remember I couldn't stand those teflon trousers, they were hideous Grin!

Rosa · 08/09/2011 12:47

Oh not the plastic trousers its too hot here for a start !But a polo and a felpa of the school over jeans / blue trousers. Basta - not school shoes etc etc Just the basics.
Took dd1 back today and minirosa just went off to play and diddn't want to come away. I feel so bad about putting her in a new school as she knows this one so well........ Am making Dh take them both domani so he can see as well !

Sputnik · 08/09/2011 13:14

School uniform is a good idea, but I wish ours wasn't white as trying to get pomodoro stains off DS's white school polo is no joke. I just hope they come off! I think I'll get a load of M&S ones to supplement.

Francagoestohollywood · 08/09/2011 13:15

Yes, totally agree with polo and felpa. Much easier.

What do you mean a new school? Do you mean minirosa going to materna instead of nido? Have I missed something? Gosh my memory is crap Grin!

Francagoestohollywood · 08/09/2011 13:16

Sputnik get thee tons of smacchiatore Chante Clair...

Francagoestohollywood · 08/09/2011 13:17

sgrassatore I meant.

Rosa · 08/09/2011 13:34

Minirosa is indeed going to materna ...She is 3 in November !!!!!Due to changes in dd1 materna - suore they were going from 3 classes to 2 with 2 teachers and 1 suore with 47 bimbi we were not happy ! Since then dd1 teacher lost the baby ( sad) so they are back to 3 classes........ ALso last year things were a bit flat they did poco didatico stuff and hardly any creative craftwork( tat) so we were a bit unsure about another 3 yrs of that. However it seems that it will all change... BOh well if we are not happy with the communale that we have chosen for minirosa we can always change....
I rub in vanish and bicarb soak and then wash...if that helps !

Francagoestohollywood · 08/09/2011 13:39

Ok gotcha now rosa! Yes, i did realize she started materna, but not to a different one than dd1. Ime Comunali are very good, hopefully you'll have the same experience Smile

I rub sapone di marsiglia on macchie.

BananaGio · 09/09/2011 06:37

How have the kids that are back got on this week? Photos are fab Sput. I am counting the seconds til DS goes back on Mon! After a summer of being indulged in the UK and running wild on the beach in Toscana he understandably isn't too impressed spending all day in the house with me saying "not now I am working". Yesterday I got slammed doors and was told I was a big poo poo. A glimpse of the teenage years to come?
Fan of school uniform as well. Doesnt bother me too much now as ds happy in his 3 euro shorts from OVS but fastforward to when clothes become important and I see me looking wistfully at the uniforms of his UK friends.

Assemblea sindicale on Monday for the auxillary staff so no school for Minirosa...Another punto in favore del privato.......
Its getting warm again ! Gio I agree I can't do a thing....

Francagoestohollywood · 09/09/2011 18:15

Gio, ds is 9 and still blissfully unaware of brands and expensive clothes.

Rosa · 13/09/2011 11:30

we popped off to San Candido for the weekend !!!! Decide at 8 am found a hotel by 9 ( we were thinking about Lake Garda as well ) Then once decided we packed and were in teh car within an hour ( thats fast for Venice). Best decision we made as apparently it was unbearable here. Only think is minirosa came home with a febbre... Not much else so she missed day 1 of nursery and will miss day 2 as well !!!! Pazienza.. Now will DD1 get it as well boh? Apparently there is a 3 day febbre virus going round ....
Computer keeps crashing so me thinks we are going to have to invest in anaother this one has been hanging on for ages......

Francagoestohollywood · 13/09/2011 12:04

Oh San Candido is such a wonderful place, I'd love to go!
It is unbearably hot here as well, we are turning on the a/c which we never did in July.

Hopefully minirosa will get better soon, there is always something going around at this time of the year.

Sputnik · 13/09/2011 21:53

Yes really sticky here too

Rosa · 14/09/2011 09:31

I am already trying to plan summer 2012 is it too early? As soon as BA load flights I want to try and book as I forsee that flight prices end of July will be high due to the Olympics.
We reallly want to get a week in the mountains as there is so much more that we can do with minirosa now she is bigger. However my beach break is also important and for the nice apartment we need to book early. Hmmm poor dh he better work hard !! Mind you I am hoping to increase the teaching as well so finally I can contribute.
Still HOT here ...not impressed!

Francagoestohollywood · 14/09/2011 10:04

Oh wow Rosa, that's what I call good planning! I think it is wise to buy the tickets before hand, yes. I'd love to book everything in advance, but I never succeed, also, we usually like to spend the holidays with friends and it is impossible to discuss holidays before Christmas Grin!

I'd also like to take the children to the UK in July, find them an activity there where they can practise their english a bit. I am excited because we are going to E. to see our friends over the ponte of the 1st of Nov. Hurrah!

Still very hot here too, but rain expected over the weekend. Same old, same old...

Rosa · 14/09/2011 11:16

Its only because of the Olympics really as normal we start thinking after the Xmas break as we see how much money we have . My parents really need the dds 'top up' apparently my father is just sitting missing them so much . So all will be done on the flights BA have loaded July but not september yet.
Also I was given a bit of a 'gift' from a relation this summer and instructed that it had to go on something for us ( I was going to put it away for the girls university or something) so a % has gone on a holiday fund and teh rest saved. We are thinking either a ski week but MR is still troppo piccola or maybe the Canaries. Do you know when normally the schools have the open evenings ? I think is January and then you have to put the domanda in like the 1st week of Feb .
Mr is a bit better but still has a niggle febbre and high enough last night for tacchip

Francagoestohollywood · 14/09/2011 13:02

Oh how sweet your parents missing the dds. So Smile and Sad... will they come to see you during the year?

And how fantastic to have received some money to spend on yourselves. Yes, I think this year is too soon for settimana bianca, probably somewhere warm is perfect with the little ones.

Here in Milan open evenings are usually held in November/December, and iscrizioni January/February.

Rosa · 14/09/2011 13:07

Mum should get the all clear from her op at the start of Nov but she will go and see the doc earlier as minirosa will be 3 on 5/11 and a small party is planned . Its the UKs turn for Xmas as well but not sure if we can do it all as flighst for 4 make things expensive but we will see. Plus we don't have a choice of airlines down to Cornwall anymore so of course they are loaded.
Great that you will have a mini Uk break hope the dcs will enjoy it in fact I am sure you all will. Must do some work now as minirosa has finally fallen asleep..........

BananaGio · 14/09/2011 14:14

how lovely to have that gift especially with those instructions to spend on yourselves Rosa. Canaries would be great, nice way to break up the winter.
You have scared me talking re flights in July but you are probably right re the Olympics. I have just booked our xmas flights though. Back to England for 2 and half weeks. That'll be nice going back to see everyone in Nov Franca.
Its so hot and humid. Basta con l'estate! Want some nice 27 degree type sunny days now please.

Francagoestohollywood · 14/09/2011 14:39

I am typing from my mobile , i am ai giardinetti, i feel so modern! Yes the children are looking forward to going ti see their friends in the uk, and i can?t wait too.

Rosa · 14/09/2011 15:04

oooh Franca how clever do you twitter as well ???

Sputnik · 14/09/2011 16:58

Lol Franca that is a good use of giardinetti time! When I've made a bit more money I hope to get one of those tablet things so I can control my cushion empire on the go (and MN obv)

Francagoestohollywood · 14/09/2011 18:39

No, I don't do twitter, I only have a vague idea of what twitter is Grin
I have one of those android phones that teenagers sfigati have (as most teenagers have iphones instead Hmm). I got it with the new abbonamento with fastweb. To be honest I have no idea if I am actually saving money, but I can access the internet when things at giardinetti are a bit slow... when I posted earlier it was just me, ds, ds friend and his nanny Grin

Luckily things started to pick up at 16.30 when 100000000 children arrived.

Sputnik, I'd love an ipad too, but I think it'll turn me into a total sociopath. Grin
