Morning ladies, I hope everyone is well and enjoying your weekends. I'm snuggled in with a Brew watching the rain trickle down. The garden is loving it!

WYorksLass, I'm so sorry about your friends. Have you found out whether they'll be able to continue the pregnancy?

Bebe, I am very pale/fair, so I guess I'm a prime candidate for stretchmarks! I hope your DD is feeling better.

AC, I can't believe how many prenancies you've got in your office at the same time! Maybe it was some sort of planned coup? Wink

AmandaCooper · 13/03/2011 13:01

Ooh like those teenagers who had a pregnancy pact? Yes no doubt it's something of that nature!

OP posts:
WYorksLass · 14/03/2011 10:09

I don't know what is happening with our friends pregnancy at the minute. They are not close friends and have (understandably) been keeping to themselves this last week.

Good news here: i've had fluttering for the last week or so but am pretty sure i've felt some definite kicks this weekend which is very cool :) Also received my 20 week scan date - April Fools day!

It has been baby central here this weekend. We've started tidying out the office so it is now the nursery! We've also bought a more practical family car. The current one is a convertible, it had 4 seats but no rear doors so getting a baby in and out would have been a nightmare. There was also vey little room in the back for DSD and the boot is tiny. New car is a 5 door diesel with big boot so should be cheaper to run too.

I am currently wearing maternity jeans which i've been in for a few weeks and a maternity top. So i'm lovely and comfy now.

P.S. Can you tell i'm much more cheeful today, i think the bloom may have hit Grin

WYorksLass · 14/03/2011 10:56

Just heard the very sad news that friends baby had problems that were too severe for the pregnancy to continue :(

bebejones · 14/03/2011 11:23

WYorks - :( That is SO sad, how completely devastating

mrswantstobeamum · 14/03/2011 11:40

So sorry WYorks Sad

Hello everyone,

Hope you're all okay and enjoying the sunshine!
WYorks Devastating for your friend :( There's not much one can say about something like that, but I hope they get through it as well as possible. I'm glad your plans are going well, though - new car and fluttering in particular sound exciting!

100How did your DH do in the race? Hope the cyst has healed well.

WhyWait I'm on the 2ww now... I've feeling feeling sick on and off for about three days, which is really starting to bug me because a) I feel rubbish half the time, and b) it's obviously getting my hopes up, even though I know that's stupid as it's too early, and will most likely amount to nothing!

AmandaCooper · 16/03/2011 08:23

MrsS I have everything crossed for you! I really hope that this is your month.

Whywait I'm sorry to hear the bad news about Oxford Brookes. Can't offer any advice cause I'm useless at interviews and things like that. What else have you got lined up? x

WYorks all your developments are fab. Can't wait till it's my turn... One day...

100years · 16/03/2011 10:21

Wyorks, great news about the flutterings. I keep thinking I may have felt a weird thing, but then I think it's not. It's a bit early for me, 16 weeks tomorrow, do occasionally feel a kind of weird almost popping feeling in my baby area! Glad you have the bloom now :) But sorry to hear about your friends.

WhyWait, sorry to hear about oxford brookes, what happens next for you?

MrsS, he did really well, first time he has 'raced' 20 miles and got a good time, it's all in prep for a mara so he wasn't pushing it. I think the cyst is OK.

I'm seeing the midwife this afternoon just before work, hoping she will have a doppler because I'd love to hear the heartbeat. Got freaking loads of questions to ask her, and no doubt I will forget a load of them. Still being sick off and on, was bad on Sunday, then nauseous Monday, then not too bad yesterday but all of a sudden I went all sick and ended up puking big style at work! Defo no bloom for me yet!

squirrel007 · 16/03/2011 13:43

Hi! Well today I am 23 weeks, and everything seems to be going well :) Baby flutterings have been getting stronger over the last week, and DH felt the baby move for the first time the other night Grin Work is very busy due to an upcoming deadline, but I'm hoping it'll calm down after that. Only 3 months of work left though, can't believe how quickly it's coming round.

100years you could well be feeling the baby move, very exciting! I was just over 16 weeks when I first felt it, but it took a couple more weeks before the sensations got stronger and frequent enough that I was sure.

mrsS good luck with the 2ww

whywait sorry to hear about Oxford Brookes :( I think this year is bad for applications as everyone wants to get in before the fees go up. My sis just found out she got turned down too.

wyorkslass how awful about your friend's pregnancy :( good news about the flutterings and kicks though :)

Hi to everyone else I've missed, hope you're all well!

MrsSatsuma · 16/03/2011 22:39

100 hope you're feeling a bit better now.

I am getting very fed up... Charting, and failing to understand it, so don't know whether I'm coming or going. Have read the Wechsler book (which is very interesting) and still my body does not seem to be doing anything that I can even remotely interpret. I could hit the doctor that gave me the pill without telling me about the implications of fertility! They tell you your periods return soon after (which they have) but they don't mention that ovulation might not!

AmandaCooper · 17/03/2011 08:29

Oh MrsS you do sound fed up. I really hope this is your month, trying and not getting there must be much worse than just waiting, even indefinitely. I am sure you are doing everything right. There's just a certain amount of hit and miss involved and as you say there's a good chance it's the pill to blame. I think it was about four cycles after coming off the pill that I started to see a pattern and wasn't just clutching at straws.

I've had another month off charting, which has seriously interfered with my sex life as now I don't know for sure if I've ovulated or when. I'm going to have a proper go with the Persona monitor next month and see how I get on with that. Bored of all this.

OP posts:
bebejones · 17/03/2011 09:04

Oh MrsS :( I don't even pretend to know what my body is doing! I'm not charting propeerly but I know things are all over the place! I stopped the pill years ago before I was even interested in having babies just coz I felt it was having a detrimental effect on my health. I'm sure that they don't know what long term effects it actually has, but I guess the benefits out weigh them!

I have had a wake up call last couple of days. So ill with this cold & really been struggling with DD. How on earth would I cope with a toddler & a newborn? Or if I had hyperemesis again? I guess I'd just have to get on with it! Hmm Confused

100years · 17/03/2011 12:43

I'll just do a little woohoo and a huge smile.

Yesterday I heard the heartbeat, it was strong, easy to find, and I heard movement while she was doing it. It was flipping amazing :) So happy about it :) I was crying listening to it, and it's the first thing I played this morning when I woke up as I had recorded it. :)

mrswantstobeamum · 17/03/2011 18:13

MrsS, I was on the pill for about five years and had only come off it for one cycle before TTC. I was also trying to chart but was finding it difficult as things clearly hadn't all returned to normal. I used OPKs as well, and I really think that's why we were able to conceive so quickly as I would never have assumed I would ovulate on CD 21 when the previous (probably anovulatory) cycle was 27 days. Have you tried OPKs? Good luck with the 2ww (you too WhyWait)! I hope this is the lucky cycle for you both.

WYorksLass and Squirrel, congrats on feeling movements! 100years, it sounds like you are indeed feeling them too Smile I've got a very active little boy these days; I'll be in the last trimester (well, according to some) at 27 weeks tomorrow!

squirrel007 · 17/03/2011 21:25

whywait good luck with the Lincoln application :)

mrsW exciting to be entering the last trimester!

100years I'm very jealous of you hearing the heartbeat! Grin I haven't seen the mw since 14 weeks, and have another 2 to go, so hopefully I'll get to hear the baby then! Any more flutters?

Good luck whywait and mrsS on the 2ww :)

bebe I think that a newborn and a toddler is hard, but it's probably one of those things that isn't as bad as the thought of it. Plus, if you're anything like me, having a bad cold just makes me feel like everything is hard work. Things always look brighter when you're feeling well :)

I've just been shopping on ebay for baby clothes, and managed to get an absolute bargain - 12 0-3 month babygro vest things for just £1.50 Grin Plus a cute baby t-shirt for about £2! Now just need to wait for them to arrive. I have decided that ebay is the best place for baby stuff (even better that it's DH's account Wink ). Even though they're not really expensive, the cost soon adds up if you buy everything new.

AmandaCooper · 18/03/2011 09:06

I know. Next weekend is supposedly a big milestone for DH and me. We're off to a music event for the weekend and that's supposed to be our last big blow out before we start preparing our bodies for ttc. DH is still off the cigarettes and is halfway through his third month of quitting - thank god. All is looking very promising.

OP posts:
MrsSatsuma · 18/03/2011 20:13

Exciting AC! Hope you enjoy the concert. I hadn't researched this properly at all so might follow your lead on cutting out all the bad stuff. Good for your DH - not an easy thing to do!

WhyWait Sorry about Brookes :( but Lincoln is supposed to be a great place. You could possibly get a school placement near where you live (if it's not Lincoln?) so you'd only have to be there for the uni bits - I know a few people who've done that.

I'm off to do some relaxing after a busy week; feel a bit like I live at school sometimes!

bebejones · 18/03/2011 20:48

WW - FX for Lincoln.

100 - that is so lovely :) Must be very exciting!

MrsW - 3rd trimester Whoop whoop!!! Wink Home straight now!

Squirrel - Asda & Tesco basic bodysuits & vests are also quite good value. (Not quite as good as your ebay bargain) Asda ones were fab when we realised that DD was too small for newborn ones & needed some smaller that we knew weren't going to be needed for long!

AC - V exciting! FX for you too!

MrsS - Have a nice relaxing weekend :)

I am feeling so low & desperate for a baby. DD asks me for a baby brother daily, it's ok to fob her off for now, she doesn't understand really. But how much longer can I keep doing that? 1 year, 2 years, 3 years? For my own sanity I don't think I can keep waiting another 2 years! :(

AmandaCooper · 18/03/2011 22:14

Bebe after staggering in from work at 9pm I can't be bothered to play with the poor cat, and I'm wondering afresh whether breeding is really such a good idea!

Sorry you're feeling so bad, obviously there's nothing we can say that could help. I really wish there was.

MrsSatsuma yes you can join me on my health kick! I'm going to definitely use the Persona monitor this cycle as well. Enjoy your relaxing!

OP posts:
bebejones · 19/03/2011 11:47

AC - I can rarely be bothered to play with my cats either!! Wink So completely completely different with your very own baby human! TRUST me! Such a massive decision, I know it feels a bit impossible & overwhelming, especially when you work the hours you do.

Sun is shining today, and I am trying to be more upbeat. Despite the cold leaving behind this hacking cough that makes my chest hurt & sounds like I've had a 40-a-day habit for most of my life! Hmm

MrsSatsuma · 19/03/2011 14:25

Arrgh relaxing weekend gone out the window... Had lots of things I could have planned for today but had to plan around 12pm physio appointment - got there and they'd forgotten to make a note of it and had no record of my appointment! They rang half an hour later to say it was definitely their fault, but still mightily annoyed as it's an awkward time to have an appointment anyway and now it's mucked up the whole weekend! They have rebooked it but I have to wait another two weeks :( Was already in a bad mood as had got upset about TTC not working yet and this was the last straw... ended up crying on phone to my mum in the park. Whereupon one of our year 10s happened to appear and sit ten feet away!! Argh!!!

Will reply to everyone when I've calmed downa bit!

strawberrypie · 20/03/2011 10:46

Hi everyone! Sorry for not posting for a while, I have unfortunately been feeling like utter crap for the past few weeks :(

The nausea and exhaustion really got me from 6 weeks onwards and is only starting to ease now at 11 weeks tomorrow. Although I have only actually vomited once the horrible sick feeling has been rubbish.

I have had times when I really had second thoughts about being pregnant which then made me feel really guilty and ungrateful. Coming in after work, forcing down a bit of food then going straight to bed every day has been horrible, I have been so grumpy with DP too. It is so hard to explain how you feel when you look normal and you are not ill but just walking into the kitchen can set you off retching!

DP has been really good most of the time and has been doing all the cooking and housework and looking after me. I think he is a bit disappointed that I have not wanted to talk about the PG more and that I have not been very exited recently- tbh I have just wanted to try and forget about it for a while and not obsess. Hormones!!!!! Aaaarrrgh!

I have got my 12 week scan a week on Tuesday so looking forward to that.

Congratulations on the healthy scan Nannyl x

MrsS what a good idea about if bebe has another baby he/she will be able to play with DD! Good luck with 2ww and I hope you are feeling better after the appointment mix up.

MrsW great news about feeling the baby move- Does it make things seem more real now?

Squiz fantastic news for you too re feeling the flutterings, also I am glad you are enjoying the maternity clothes. Where did you get them from? Any recommendations?

Bebe,so sorry to her about your friend's EMC. It must be very difficult to know what to say to them. I hope you are getting over your cold. I quite enjoy having the husky voice though- you sound like someone else and it can be fun! (that might be just me though :/ )

AC I cannot believe you have got 4 PG colleagues at once! Wow, At least your bosses will be well versed with the maternity procedures when it is your turn! Well done to you DP too for giving up the cigs! That is a real commitment for TTC.

WYL- So sorry to hear about your friends, There is nothing anyone can say is there. Good news kicks and also about the new car! We are getting a bigger diesel car soon too!

100y, I'm glad you feel better after the cyst burst and it is fantastic that you have lost so much weight! I have stayed the same so far but my boobs are deff a bit bigger. Wonderful to hear the heartbeat with the doppler too x

WW sorry to hear about Oxford Brooks but good luck for Lincoln and also for the 2WW, any sign of AF yet? xx
