It's still too early to test isn't it at 13 DPO. Particularly with a cheapie.

Good going softening up your DH!

OP posts:
bebejones · 08/05/2011 13:11

I'm not sure. I think 10dpo is ok with sensitive tests as you need a lp of 10 days for implantation etc?!?! [clueless] I got BFP on day 11 with DD. But that was a branded test & at about 6am!

nannyl · 08/05/2011 13:51

Hello all...
wow, what an exciting morning.

AC... i recommend 1st responce 6 days early tests (that you can use 5 days early)
I got the feintist of feint +ves 9 days PO, only just visible on some lights, on a ebay cheapy...
then 2 clear lines on 1st responce the next day (but only after 5 mins, not 3 like it says to read at) and 2 clear lines immediately the next day....

if you had some bleeding it could be implanation... very exciting, & not over just yet Grin
and great that you KNOW you want to TTC now.

Bebe, amazing cakes (again) and please get talking to DH soon XXX
Hope you get new glasses and stay well Smile

100, hope you feel better soon... I have now got a drean genii pregnancy pillow and HIGHLY recommend it... have slept well every night since

Mrs S, hope you too feel better soon.

No news here.... OH and me went for a lovely walk this morning round a reservoire, had dinner and now he is watching grand prix while i mumsnet lol.

AmandaCooper · 08/05/2011 18:38

Thank god I've got you guys is all I can say. I feel rather lonely worrying and waiting like this. I might try a First Response tomorrow if this continues, thanks nannyl.

Cupcakes rule. Stuff anyone who thinks not!

bebe your photos are amazing! Not just the cake ones, too. You should frame and sell your photos as well as your cupcakes!

AC how frustrating! Have you worked out that you definitely ovulated this month? Wonder if stress could have affected things perhaps. Keep us updated! Do you usually get spotting? And (sorry if TMI or too nosey!) was it red or brownish, because that can make a difference?

Going for a walk to make the most of the last few hours of the weekend. I refuse to do any work tonight!!!

AmandaCooper · 08/05/2011 20:42

Yes according to FF and all the signs I definitely ovulated. DH and I dtd 3 days before. It's TMI really but the first bit of spotting where I thought AF had arrived was like when you sneeze and it's clear but there's just a tiny bit of red blood in it. I had a bit more today though which was like pinkish EWCM.

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 08/05/2011 20:43

We're out for a walk too!

OP posts:
nannyl · 08/05/2011 22:47

could be implantation... Wink

AmandaCooper · 09/05/2011 06:42

My bbt has dropped to the coverline so I think it's over this month. DH very sympathetic and saying we can try next month!! Sad but Grin

OP posts:
nannyl · 09/05/2011 09:03

Oh.... sorry to read that
but yay for now being TTC

Anyone up to much today? Im posting a load of ebay stuff that sold last night, & doing some washing and ironing (what a fun life i lead hey!) and more sorting in the nursery.

Hey i never told you all about my latest ebay bargain, i won at the weekend Grin. Im so excited... I got a birth pool in a box WITH sterile liner (which alone costs £25+P&P) and all the stuff like hose / tap adapters / air and water pump and the water proof floor mat, for a bargain £32... and i had bid up to £80 on it.
Couldnt believe my luck... and most dont come with a liner (unless they add another £25 for one when buying brand new) so had planned on spending at least £70 / £80 on a pool AND £25 for a new liner

Its collection only, but only about 20mins away

strawberrypie · 09/05/2011 12:19

Hi everyone! Sorry for not popping in for a while!

To bring you all up to date......

heard baby's heartbeat at 16 week check which was great.....

had a fab time camping in Wales with friends (two of which were with their 18 month-very cute) over Easter.....

got married the day before the royal wedding which was an absolutely amazing day! The table decorations which were jars filled with sweets went down a storm so thank you to Bebe or Nannyl for that suggestion! (I will post some photos when I get chance) Then had a lovely long weekend in the Lakes with DH :)

Back to work last week and have worked the weekend so have not had a chance to log on for a while.

My best friend has had her 20 week scan and found out that she is having a boy (which she thought all along and is really happy about) :)

So that is my news.

great to hear you are officially 'trying for a baby' SWI! How exiting!

Sorry about your Easter weekend bebe and OH's grumps. Thank you for your message! Your cakes look great I will have to find your flicker photos and have a nosy :)

AC I got pregnant 3 months after starting a new job and everything has been fine (so far) so don't rule out that option completely if something good comes up.

Rubbish news about your OH's job Quod, things like that that are out of your control can be so frustrating.

MrsS- IMHO life is too short to stay in a job you don't like, could you give yourself a deadline and if things have not improved by x time then think about looking for something else rather than waiting to be PG? I'm worried that going back PT to a job you don't like will possibly be just as bad? :/

Yo to nannyl and everyone else- nannyl I am thinking of employing you as an e-bay consultant to find me bargains like that! You could charge a whopping finders fee and it would still be cheaper!

nannyl · 09/05/2011 13:07

welcome back strawberry

and congrats on your wedding, and how wonderful to hear babies heart beat. When is your 20 week scan? do you plan to find out if boy / girl? My little one had their legs crossed. Am convinced shes a girl now though.

Me answer to ebay is to watch stuff for for months and then there are some bargains :) I watch the baby stuff within 5 miles from my house (so can callect for free) every single day!
I have been known to use spread sheets to keep track in price / average prices etc, but now just have stuff in watch list to look back on

am also lucky as OH has buisness accounts with most couriers who come to his warehouse everyday, so really easy for me to post big stuff (at super cheap prices) if necessary! (& also get stuff delivered to me without having to wait in)

jbells · 09/05/2011 14:17

100years · 09/05/2011 14:19

AC how are you doing?

nannyl, I've looked at those pillows, seems a lot to spend on one, I know I know it's probably worth it, will see what OH thinks, last night before we went to bed he said what can we do to help you, what do you think you need, we can get whatever. and well done on the ebay bargains :)

Strawberry, :) congratulations :) Glad you heart heartbeat, that's amazing to hear it for the first time.

Been swimming again as my aquanatal class was cancelled. But enjoyed the swimming. Off to see a friend this evening. :)

100years · 09/05/2011 14:29

jbells, my sister's eldest got chicken pox on her second birthday, at the time she was about 36 weeks preg with her second one. Hope you are Ok with it all. And hope you get baby as soon as possible, but not until dd spots have dried up. Don't worry about not catching up, we're still here and will continue to be.

MrsSatsuma · 09/05/2011 19:16

Good to see you back strawberry! Congrats on the wedding and the scan.

Glad you're joining the TTCers AC! At least something good has come out of all the uncertainty (although it ain't over til AF appears, as they say)

Good bargain hunting nannyl! I still think you're the most organised person on the planet Smile

jbells Sorry things are still iffy, although at least there are still ups as well. Check with your midwife if you're worried about the pox - best to be on the safe side. Then get curry eating!

My temperature has gone below the coverline again. Fertility Friend has changed my crosshairs into dotted lines, so even it's not sure now. Am getting seriously fed up with all the charting, but if I don't do it I'll have even less idea what's going on. I just wish it was clearer! I've done all my research but nothing seems to tally up!

MrsSatsuma · 09/05/2011 19:18

PS strawberry - I totally agree with you about the job thing, but problem is I can only leave my job at Christmas, Easter, or Summer, and most jobs start in September, so I have to think in academic years. Tis a complete pain. Also makes a few thousand pounds' difference, I think. Drat.

AmandaCooper · 09/05/2011 20:01

Hooray Strawberry I can't wait to see some wedding pics, I seriously love weddings! And lovely news about seeing the LO and hearing the tiny heartbeat - blub! It's good to have you back on the thread.

MrsS sorry to hear your charting is still not going well, I can't even imagine how bloody frustrated and stressed you must feel by now, it's an emotional rollercoaster. I can't remember what day you think you are on - is there any chance it could be an implantation dip? I think mine was a bit late for that.

JBells you must be SO fed up but how exciting that your baby is nearly here. It will be a new era! how are things with MrJBells now? Is he being supportive?

Nannyl that's some serious Ebaying I'm impressed! I'm not allowed to start stocking the nursery but as soon as I can I'll be on there outbidding you, so get in while you can ha ha!

Bebe did you have any joy arranging another round of The Talk with your DH?

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 09/05/2011 21:00

AF has definitely arrived now by the way - it was fun while it lasted, now back to waiting!

OP posts:
bebejones · 10/05/2011 09:05

Yay Strawberry! Glad you are back! Wedding sounds fabulous! :) Can't wait for photos! :)

AC - It must be a relief, even if it's not exactly the outcome you wanted?

Didn't talk to DH, life got in the way as usual! I'm having problems with my eyesight & seriously hoping I just need a new prescription for my glasses rather than it being a MS relapse! Got to wait til Sat to see my optician! :(

nannyl · 10/05/2011 10:25

Hello All

lol at AC out bidding me.... i think i have most stuff now Wink
Sorry to here AF has arrived Sad
Mrs S have you tried a clear blue fertility monitor? If charting is stressing you (and stress does not help conception) worth a try. I only used mine for 1 month (and it gave me highs several days before it could be high) but it got my peak days right.
Ok they are quite expensive (again i suggest ebay Wink) but save all the charting and you can still monitior EWCM too.

bebe sorry to hear about your eyes Sad. Hope it is JUST eyes and optician can fix for you..... fingers Xed.

No major plans here today... Aqua natal later (seriously love that class) followed by Saisburys.... been to charity shop (and got my fav pg book, the one i have been renewing constantly since getting pg from library for 20p) & Post office to post ebay stuff.

Made time for my natal hypnotherapy CD yesturday (highly recommend it) & determined to find half hour to fit it in again today.

baby still kicking away and for the first time, OH felt her kick last night Smile she normally stops as soon as he has his hand there, and starts again once he moves it away. lol

jbells · 10/05/2011 10:31

Well i am not pleased to report dd def has chicken pox :(

Had a blood test yest to check im def immune.

Bebe. I hope everything goes well at optitians and it is just a new prescription u need

ac. Sorry af turned up :( its so much worse when its had u guessing

nannyl. Sounds like a nice day planned i am on house arrest with dd and her chicken pox :( i am going for pg reflexology tonite tho so atleast thats sumthin to look forward to

hope everyone else is ok x

ShaggingWithIntent · 10/05/2011 10:52

Hi All

Not had a chance to catch up properly yet but am back from my hols and straight back into work - JOY!!!

India was AMAZING we had a lot of fun and lots of SWI but sadly AF arrived early (and strangely short and light) on Saturday morning - boooo!
Just signed up to FF and debating whether temperature charting is worth while - thoughts??

Will try and catch up with all the news later but have a mountain of e-mails to plough through!!!

SWI x

AmandaCooper · 10/05/2011 13:04

SWI welcome back! Sorry to hear you aren't updiffed but the good news is I still have a cycle buddy!

I just had a 45 day cycle, usually 30. If charting hadn't told me I had ovulated later than normal I'd have spent the last two weeks climbing the walls. As it was I knew AF was only 2 days late.
