how're you feeling this morning squirrel? Hopefully the bath and genger and lemon helped a bit. My sister swears by hot water, whisky, lemon and honey but probably not hugely appropriate for someone updiffed!!

I'm feeling a lot better today thanks swi and whywait :) still off work, but hope I'll be back tomorrow.

I also discovered that when baby is wriggling, I can now see my belly moving!! It's a bit freaky, I lay on the sofa for ages today watching!

AmandaCooper · 13/04/2011 20:12

Squirrel that must be really weird! I'd love to see it - can you make a video?! Sorry to hear you're feeling poorly.

Quod I'm sorry you're not getting anywhere with setting a date for ttc. Obviously I know exactly how that feels, so you have my sincere sympathy. It makes you dither as well when your OH isn't on board. Seems to anyway. As whywait said, as soon as our LOs are growing in our tummies, we know the boys will all of a sudden become doting dads. That's the most frustrating bit!

SWI have you actually got to your fertile time yet, or are you still just practicing? When do you leave for your trip?

Quite frustratingly all the stress of the last few days has knocked either my cycle or my chart out of kilter. I've been working up to this big mediation, which finally happened yesterday and lasted 14 and a half hours, finally finishing at midnight with no resolution. I haven't been able to sleep for worrying about it, so I'm glad it's over. If I ovulate late my holiday ttc plan is over.

Blimey AC that sounds incredibly stressful.
How many cycles til your holiday? Might there not be some leeway eg oving a day or two early next time? Or are you super regular? It's more than likely the chart that's gone all wonky anyway if you've been sleeping funny due to stress, non?

I've given up on setting a date for TTC to be honest, it was just causing me too much stress and frustration and wasted time thinking about it, so I've taken the path of ce la vie for now. Trying to enjoy the advantages of being child-free while we still are, and thinking that actually he seems to be coming to terms with the idea better on his own than with me trying to talk to him about it. I've started talking to friends about it instead which actually takes the pressure out of our relationship. My preferred deadline that would have worked out to my advantage work-wise has passed, too, which has taken some of the pressure off and now because of my work I couldn't risk morning sickness til after June, so thinking I'll restart the discussions then when hopefully something will have moved on a bit. Broody as hell atm though, probably because I too am pulling in to Ovulation Station....

Did anyone else see that BF doc that was on last night with Cherry-her-wot-had-a-baby? AC you will have been in your mediation I presume, but it's worth watching on Iplayer if you can handle the inevitable immense increase in broodiness!

Quodlibet · 13/04/2011 21:38

Squirrel, glad you're feeling better, watching your stomach squirm around sounds like a good way to pass the time while you're laid up though!

bebejones · 13/04/2011 21:47

Quod - I sky+d it & have watched half of it. DH not interested & can't watch it when DDs about!

Squirrel - it's so exciting being able to see them move. I really missed it when DD was born, which I know is bizarre! I remember sat eating a curry on my due date & DD doing massive flips (probably turning back to back...little bugger) and my mum & DH watching like this --> Shock

AC - Glad the major stress is over. It's probably that & the disrupted sleep that has wrecked your chart. But I'm no expert!!

I think I am getting DDs lurgy. Have a massive sore throat, earache & headache. I DO NOT WANT TO BE ILL!!! It's my friends hen do on Sat. I have really be looking forward to it...and 2 child free nights! Gonna be necking the Night Nurse & drinking hot lemon all day tomorrow!

squirrel007 · 13/04/2011 21:50

whywait I think the best things were steam and rest :) I wouldn't normally take time off for a cold, but without being able to use drugs, the rest was definitely needed. Sometimes I need reminding to take care of myself Blush Hot drinks are also comforting, but I don't know how much they help with actually getting better. Anyway, fingers crossed that as you're pg over the summer, there won't be much floating around!

amanda sorry about all the stress, but glad your big mediation is out of the way. Big stresses like that can definitely play with your cycle, but hopefully it'll get back to normal now :) not sure if I can take a video yet - baby movements aren't that big and fairly erratic, so difficult to catch. I just looked on you tube and there are lots of videos of 30-something week movements, which definitely show up! I'll have to try taking a video in a few weeks time!

AmandaCooper · 13/04/2011 21:53

Whywait thanks for your concern. I think DH is back on board. I need to just get used to his FOF episodes and rise above it. It's not easy though.

OP posts:
bebejones · 13/04/2011 21:57

AC that's good news :)

squirrel007 · 13/04/2011 21:59

X-posted with bebe and quod!

bebe fingers crossed you don't get ill :) Maybe have a couple of early nights to try and ward it off?

quod seems good to take the pressure off for a couple of months, especially if you don't want morning sickness anytime soon. And, if your DH is slowly coming round to the idea, then maybe he'll be keener to discuss it in June! Haven't watched the documentary, but might do sometime over the weekend.

AmandaCooper · 13/04/2011 23:03

Wow loads of posts while I was replying to Whywait!

Yes I'm hoping it's just my chart that's been messed up because I haven't been sleeping properly and I've been waking at odd times. I am normally so regular you could set your calendar by me! I was really happy because everything was looking perfect for ttc on our holiday. Two more cycles between then and now - May and June. Should be ok.

Quod I think your plan not to set a date is a good one, all the dates I've had in mind have been and gone, July will probably be no different.

Bebe I'm not allowed to watch anything baby related either, DH briefly put on this really horrible graphically violent film which showed loads of people getting crushed to death, decapitated etc and compared it to me making him watch OBEM - which he says is just like watching people being tortured while you have your tea. I can almost see his point but not quite!

BF is a bit diff I know, and I like that Cherry girl. I'll wait till he's out though I reckon!

One thing I will say for waiting is I wouldn't have liked to be pg and have to go through all this stuff at work while coping with morning sickness, tiredness, etc as well. One of the four pg women at work is puking constantly. I feel really sorry for her.

Bebe and Squirrel how are we this morning?

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 14/04/2011 06:16

Ooh I forgot to tell you guys - you know how we've got DH's mum as our cleaner (as you do)? Well she never nomally cleans in our room or touches the bed - but apparently the kitten had run over the bedding with yes more poo on him, so MIL changed the bed for us.

She has neatly put my baby mad thermometer back under my pillow where she found it! I doubt she's going to think it's for contraception, I don't expect she's a disciple of Toni Weschler! Shock Blush

bebejones · 14/04/2011 10:02

Oh dear! Maybe she doesn't know what it's for? Hmm

I am fighting this bug...I had Night Nurse last night to ensure I got a full nights sleep. I have taken cold & flu this morning & my OJ & iron & I am aiming to drink a glass of fluid every hour (ish)! I WILL NOT GET SICK! I've been looking forward to this for weeks & I deserve some time off from being a mummy. I've had one night off in 2.8 years!!

100years · 14/04/2011 11:46

Hi everyone,

Sorry been offline a few days, have read people's posts, but been too busy to catch up.

Tried to copy the stats list but my computer decided it wanted to put weird coding in it when copied, so can someone please put mine as EDD 1st Sept :)

Yes that's right that's exactly 20 weeks today!!!! HALFWAY Now :) It's getting all squirmy and kicking more now :)

My niece is very poorly in hosp so I have been over there a couple of days after my shifts, and keeping fingers crossed she starts getting better now they have changed her drugs.

Off to London this weekend :) My Gorgeous OH is running the marathon :)

Hi 100years [wave] hope your niece is recovering, and good luck to your OH for the marathon! Congrats for 20 weeks too, halfway is a nice marker :)

bebe hope the fighting is working, sounds like you definitely deserve some time off.

Amanda does it say anything about fertility or babies on, or will your MIL just think you had a normal thermometer under your pillow? I am glad that my first trimester coincided with a particularly quiet time at work, when my boss was away for a while and xmas was coming up. Definitely wouldn't like to be fighting morning sickness (in secret) with work stresses going on. Plenty do though, I reckon you just cut back on everything else in your life to cope.

I'm a lot better today, was back at work (unfortunately!) but took it easy and did a short day. Only one more day and then it's the weekend, yay!

AmandaCooper · 15/04/2011 06:33

Ok ladies I need help!

Woke up this morning to this:

My Ovulation Chart

It's going back up! And I've got EWCM! And DH and I had sex yesterday morning!

I know the chances are infinitesimal but I'm ever so slightly worried! What should I do? Let DH know, or keep quiet?

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 15/04/2011 06:42

Squirrel the thermometer says "Baby Mad" on the side!

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 15/04/2011 06:45

I should just wait for tomorrow's temp, shouldn't I? There's nothing I can do about it today.

OP posts:
bebejones · 15/04/2011 08:01

Calm.....breathe........wait until tomorrow! If you were PG then you won't know for days yet, plus its highly highly unlikely that you are!

Re thermometer, most people don't know about the temping unless they are doing it. She prob just thinks its a thermometer brand, don't panic!

I am off to my mums, and then hen do tomorrow! I'm SO excited! Can't wait to get away from the hell here at home! :(
