RRRAAAAGGGGGHHHHHH at AC's DH!

That's just childish! Why is he being a git? (proviso: you can all call my DP a git when he pulls one of those if you want)

Bebe we will be lucky to get 2 in before I'm 35. Actually at this rate, lucky to get one in before I'm 35. DP's work thing looks like it's going to be finished a full 18 months after he originally said and now may not be til this time next year - but will he reconsider TTC timetable so that it's not dependent on the work thing? Of course not. I'll just put my ovaries on ice then shall I?

Oh it's going to be one those days isn't it.

ShaggingWithIntent · 11/04/2011 10:36

Hmmm 'tis most irritating and glad I'm not the only one about to set the Gruffalo's on him!!

I feel bad now as I had a good weekend with 2 bits of good news. Sadly the return to the office this mornign is pretty crappy as all I've had so far is people ignoring me or moaning at me.... evidently payment for hvaing had a good weekend!!!

Quodlibet · 11/04/2011 11:25

What was your good news SWI? We need some good news.

ShaggingWithIntent · 11/04/2011 11:39
  1. DH took himself off to the Drs on Wednesday night (he NEVER does this) and asked his GP all about when he and I need to do in order to give us the best chance of starting a family! Bless him! She told him that he didn't need to take special man conception pills and stay on his zinc and berocca. She also said that we don't need to do anything specific for now but if we struggle then we should stop drinking.

  2. He's been working long hours and getting quite frustrated. His bonus meeting was delayed so many times and finally happened on Friday. He had fantastic feedback and then was given a really generous bonus. It's great that he has been rewarded for all his hard work and also nice to be able to put some money aside for (fingers crossed) our future children!!!

Quodlibet · 11/04/2011 13:40

Ahh that is definitely two sets of good news.

Your DH has helped redress the balance of the world with his enthusiasm for TTC!

Mine has agreed this weekend that he needs to take zinc. This is only in part due to the fact that he pictures his spermz making little warrior metal helmets out of the zinc, and mainly I think due to the fact that I pointed out that it improves memory, which he admits he is in dire need of. After him forgetting to leave me the bike key, he came back from France, let himself into the house, took his bag up and left his hugely expensive guitar sitting on our doorstep. Very luckily I came home about 15 mins later and discovered it sitting there.

ShaggingWithIntent · 11/04/2011 13:59

Oh Quod - it sounds as though he needs to be put on large doses of zinc if it helps memory.

It will mean that if you get babybrain he should at least be understanding!!! Grin

We did a lot of gardening this weekend - I think this indicates that I am getting old as never before have I shown such excitement for a trip to the garden centre followed by an afternoon up to my eyes in mud, worms and other yucky stuff! I'm becoming prematurely middle aged!! HELP!

ShaggingWithIntent · 11/04/2011 14:12

OH - and Bebe. hope that miniBebe is ok :(

bebejones · 11/04/2011 16:19

Mini me might have flu! :( She's up and about now & quite perky, but her temp is creeping back up!

I too have got a bit of a gardening bug! Planted lots of veg & DH thinks it is incredibly sad how excited I am that it's actually growing!!

Good news about your DH, SWI, there is hope for us all! :)

ShaggingWithIntent · 11/04/2011 16:23

Oh no poor little minibebe :( Flu si horrible enough as an adult, nevermind when you are a little one.

I'm so fed up here today..... nobody is speaking to me :( I hope we don;t have to go through months and months of SWI before I get updiffed as I think my patience here might just run out!!

bebejones · 11/04/2011 17:40

Oh no SWI! Why are they being so mean?!

DD seems to be quite perky but she did just have a nap in the car!

Dinner cooking & DH seems in a reasonable mood...for once! :)

ShaggingWithIntent · 12/04/2011 07:02

So............AF has arrived early and so I'm now officially on my first cycle of TTC!!! luckily she's not so early that it messes up plans for our holiday but we're going to have to make sure we're not to tired and stressed from traveling at the start of the trip!!!

AmandaCooper · 12/04/2011 08:13

SWI that's brilliant news - and you being a proper old stalwart of the waiting threads too! That's really cheered me up! What a top bloke going down to the docs and everything that bonus must be karma. Sorry to hear things are not so good on the work front, do you wish you'd stayed in the old job?

Me next for starting ttc supposedly - once DH has recovered from his latest bout of FOF. I'm preparing myself for more of his panicking closer to D day (theoretically 8 July or thereabouts) but I'm worried I'm setting myself up to fail - I don't think I'll cope if he won't go through with it and it would ruin our holiday/wedding anniversary if we fell out over it. Maybe we should wait till August.

Quod good news on your DC taking up the zinc habit! We are getting there!

Bebe how is miniBebe?

OP posts:
bebejones · 12/04/2011 08:48

Yay SWI!!! Woo hoo!!!

AC - I know exactly how you feel. DH has 'not gone through with it' 3 times now!! Fingers crossed that he can shake off this FOF outbreak!

DD was much better yesterday afternoon/evening. But awful overnight. I was up to her at 9, DH went in to her at 11.30. I then went in again at 12.30, 2.15, 2.40, 2.55 & 6.30am!!! She wasn't even this bad as a newborn!!! Her temp is raging again! :( Worst thing is I have been so cranky with the lack of sleep. It's not exactly a good way to convince DH to have another one! :(

ShaggingWithIntent · 12/04/2011 09:03

Oh no - poor minibebe :( and also horrible for you to have to see her feeling so poorly. FX that she starts to recover soon and that you can capitalise on DH's good mood!!

Time to get out the fancy pants, wine and sewing kit?!?!?

AC - really tough to know what to do. As you will remember we had quite a few fall outs over TTC and the timing was pushed back several times. All I can say is be strong and don't give up hope just yet. FX for you.

Super excited about it all but going to try and not let on to DH when I'm ovulating as I don't want to put too much pressure on him to "perform"!!! I'm actually going to be on holiday fr pretty much all of my 2WW too and probably without any internet access so I will hopefully not think about it too much and just enjoy exploring a new country.

So - update of my stats.......

ShaggingWithIntent TTC#1 (finally!!) Cycle 1 AF due 11th May Grin

Yes please on the updated stats. I keep forgetting where everybody is!!!

I'm not sure on the finding out the sex thing. I think I would probably want to know but DH would be adament that he didn't want to know.... It's quite good fgor planning purposes. Can you maybe find out but not let enybody else know that you have?

Thanks WW :)

Quodlibet · 12/04/2011 15:10

Wow WW you have got the stats - funny seeing them all in a row like that.

DP announced this morning that he'd dreamed we had a little one and it made him feel all happy and excited

Think he's coming up to a crunch point of losing patience with the never-ending work deadline thing so there might (hopefully) be some rethinking of things over the next couple of months in this corner. At the moment I am very aware that even mentioning TTC timetables will add to the pressure he's under (sound familiar Bebe?!)

SWI having your 2WW on holiday is ideal timing, it's going to be so much easier not to think about it too much when you're somewhere new and relaxed. Glad it's all working out so well for you at the moment.

squirrel007 · 12/04/2011 15:39

Hi everyone! Wow, a lot has been happening on here while I was away!

bebe I am surprised just how patient you are with your DH. My DH can be quite work-obsessed too, and i'm nowhere near as patient as you! It sounds a great idea to do the hygiene certificates though, and get your cake making started. Your cakes always look yummy, and you definitely have the talent for it :) Hope your DD recovers soon.

Hi SWI, great news about TTC now Grin And the holiday sounds like a great place to get started! Sorry to hear about work though, but hopefully you'll be out of there soon! We didn't find out the flavour - I wanted to but DH didn't. I'm not sure what planning it would help us with as everything I'm buying is neutral colours (I don't like the baby blue and pink colours!)

wyorkslass good news that you can afford to be a sahm :) I think it's nice to have the choice, and it sounds like you'll be on maternity leave before me (am jealous)!

quod your DH sounds very forgetful!

Amanda it's lovely that you got to cuddle your friends' newborn. It seems like your DH has forgotten how short the baby stage is, and that they don't need 24/7 care forever!

100years how exciting about the proper bump! In a couple more weeks it should become really obvious :)

jbells sorry things aren't going so well :( But good to have a squirming belly! Mine's not quite there yet, although I can definitely feel that the baby is squirming a lot.

quod, bebe and Amanda, I am annoyed at all your DH's on your behalf! I completely understand their reasoning, but when there are two of you making the decision it's unfair to dictate without any attempt at compromise.

Thanks for the stats whywait :) And I'm impressed you managed to keep your pg secret from your family. I told family really early, as wouldn't have been able to keep it secret while staying with them.

Things here are mostly good - baby is moving around a lot more now and DH can feel quite a lot. In fact, I woke up late one morning on holiday to have DH tell me that the baby had been wriggling all morning as he could feel! We had a lovely break, although I found walking around a lot of hard work so we had to take lots of coffee and cake breaks Grin One afternoon we just sat in a park in the sunshine, reading, which I've never done on holiday before! The bad news is that I'm ill, and off work today :( I haven't had a day off sick for years, and only have a cold, but I think it's made worse by being pg. Plus I can't take any drugs for it, which I'd normally do! Fingers crossed I feel better tomorrow :)

I would have put myself on the list, WhyWait, if I could decide when I thought we were going to TTC. Maybe the best description is
'Quodlibet TTC1 at some mythical point which always seems to remain 6 months in the future' !

bebejones · 12/04/2011 18:54

Squirrel - have you tried some olbas & steam inhilation. clearing out your head like that can make a massive diference!

squirrel007 · 12/04/2011 20:51

Thanks for the suggestions whywait and bebe :) I sent DH out for ginger and lemons, and had a steamy (but not too hot!) bath, both of which helped. Now I'm having an early night so fingers crossed I'm better in the morning!
