Use this to work out your chinese lunar age, also tells you the chinese lunar months so you can work it out.

FWIW it was right for me & DD...just checked!

jbells · 27/03/2011 18:06

100 i only work two days a wk will prob work till 37 wks its not long hours and is easier than being at home with a toddler all day lol. I am gettin rather frightened about the whole toddler baby combo

bebejones · 28/03/2011 08:16

Before you ask, I didn't do it! We ended up bickering over the census form & then DH spent the rest of the evening ranting on email & shouting at someone on the phone! (Not about the census...work thing) Hmm :(

Just wasn't really the right atmosphere for me to bring it up. Plus he had toothache so was in a mega grump about that as well! Shame because we had a fab afternoon at PILs farm, went for a long walk to see all the new lambs & was just lovely to spend some family time together. I shall endeavour to bring it up over the next week(end) just need to wait for the right moment to 'drop' it in to conversation. Can't just bring it up out of nowhere or I get accused of 'ambushing' him Hmm so need to be clever & engineer a conversation where it comes up naturally! :o I seriously think I must be some sort of criminal mastermind! :o Wink

nannyl · 28/03/2011 09:07

Oh bebe, sorry to hear your talk didnt happen, but pleased to hear you had a lovely famly weekend anyway Smile

Jbells, wow you are getting their fast! Time is flying and I am now 16 weeks.

AC very exciting news for you too Smile

100years, good luck with your scan. Have to say we havent come to any conclusions about names at all. There are lots of names that we both think are 'ok', but no name that we both go 'oh yes'. OH really doesnt like my favourite names, and the couple of names he really likes, i dont like much either. Result... we have got no where and neither have an real idea about what baby will be called! (despite the fact the my step dad today has placed a bet on us having a girl, and her name!!!!)

I have won some more ebay bargains this weekend, including the pregnancy relaxation CD from natal hypnotherapy. I now have the whole set for a total of £3.24 rather than £40! Smile

Also a gorgouse plain white "the little white company" sleeping bag in 0-6m. (I have a thing about sleeping bags being 'real' gro-bag gro-bags, but used a little white company one in last job and decided that they would be ok too), and a bebe au lait for £2 Smile

Had quite a good weekend, and havent been sick for 2 days in a row Shock BLISS. I have not been sick 2 consecutive days twice so far before, so not getting hopes up, but nice that it happened over a weekend Smile

I have a friend coming for coffee this morning, and i made some annabelle karmel cookies, from her healthy snacks in pregnancy recipies. They are yummy and good for me so i can eat them when ever i like i think Smile (It says so in the book )

Whywait hope you continue to just be tired (and not sick and tired)

bebejones · 28/03/2011 10:30

Nannyl - I never liked the actual grobags, my preference were John Lewis own ones! Cheaper too! Wink

Hope you have a nice time with your friend coming over & long may the not being sick continue. Once I got to 16weeks I started having more & more good days & by 20weeks ish I was down to mostly just being sick once a day & could eat alot better which stopped me being sick.

strawberrypie · 28/03/2011 16:49

Hi all, thanks for sharing your maternity leave plans (or story Bebe). I feel like I would like to have 4 weeks off before the EDD but I don't think we could afford it. We could only really cope without my wage (as I earn more than DP) for 6 months maximum so would need to work as near to the EED as possible to be able to be off until the baby is 6 months old. I will also have some holiday allowance but not much. Hmm.

My boss is also asking me to tell him the date that I want to start ML asap which is fair enough but I don't know how easy/hard I am going to find working as I get bigger :/

Sorry to hear that the talk did not happen Bebe. I wonder if DH can sense that you are waiting for him to be in a good mood so is trying not to be?

Wow AC, didn't know you were a raver! Big fish little fish etc! Glad to hear you had a good time! Are you starting to TTC straight away???

How are you doing jbells?

So.....scan tomorrow, eeek! I will let you know how it goes.....

Evening all.

Bebe, sorry you didn't get round to The Chat too. Maybe mother's day you get to set the agenda!

Nannyl you sound more perky, I can't believe your MS has gone on so long though, you deserve a break!

AC how was the weekend?

I'm away for a week with my company, and feeling really under the weather with sore throat etc and AF to boot, had to miss out on the group cinema trip to come home to my hotel room and be ill in bed! Made myself honey and lemon but missing DP already and won't see him for a week . OBEM is on though, soooooo....anyone else watching?

squirrel007 · 28/03/2011 22:08

Good luck with the scan tomorrow strawberry! I read somewhere that it's easier to start ML earlier than you plan, but more difficult to start later. Plus you don't have to (by law) give notice to your employers before 25 weeks (I think!), although you might prefer to give them more notice.

I always thought a grobag was something you grew tomatoes in... Confused

nannyl · 28/03/2011 22:28

strawberry good luck with scan tomorrow.
How exciting. as for ML dont forget you accrue holiday while on ML, so in 6 months off with get 2.6 days holiday that you could add onto the end, and if you have any left this year could tag it onto the beginning, so have some AL before ML starts officially

WW, i do have a fair few baby bits, yes, but loads and loads and loads of stuff still to buy. Not got any clothes really yet, and will get cot / car seat much nearer the time

Quod, yes am feeling a little better these last couple of days, thanks, Smile, yes it has gone on for ever, (it seems) been feeling crap for almost this whole entire year Shock, with tiredness kicking in about 4th Jan i think, which soon turned to sickness!
So sorry to hear you are poorly Sad hope you feel better soons

Went for a lovely swim this afternoon with my new (ebay but never worn by previouse owner) maternity costume.

Squirrel, LOL, gro-bags are the original baby sleeping bag. Agree easier to start ML earlier than later.

Exciting stuff here, just as OBEM finished i felt baby move. Just like little pops. Was Amazing and on / off for 15 mins Smile

Quodlibet · 28/03/2011 23:28

Ahh nannyl that's really really exciting!

I've graduated to upchucking here (not fun in a hotel, must be a bug) and thinking 'oh god I couldn't do this for 4 months, that nannyl is tough'

Strawberry I missed that with my glazed eyes, good luck with your scan tomorrow!

jbells · 29/03/2011 08:06

Goodluck with your scan strawb

to everyone whos asked thanks for asking how i am but things at home cudnt b any worse im probably more miserable and upset than ive eva bin and with only 7 wks till the baby comrs im incredibly frightened with the scenario. And to top it off its my bday on sat which will prob b spent either argueing ignoring each other or just bein upset. Things gave bin like this since feb now so dont know how much longer it can go on.
Anyway i havnt mentioned it cos dont want to bring the thread down. Ill bugger off with my miseru now ;)

nannyl · 29/03/2011 08:55

Jbells [HUG]

dont bugger off with your sadness. I have certainly done my share of moaning on here, moan moan moan away. So sorry to read that. Not sure what to say, but i hope you do have a happy birthday at the weekend.

Quod so sorry you are poorly. Hope you feel better soon, and yes being ill for months is very hard, but i was the 1% with hyperemisis; most people dont have it nearly so bad!

Felt baby a few more times before i went to sleep and have felt a couple of little moves this morning too. Just like tiny little pops

bebejones · 29/03/2011 10:04

JBells - Don't run off & don't think you can't vent on here.

Nannyl - how exciting that you are feeling movements! I alawya thought I felt mine quite early too because of being confined to bed for so much of the time!

AF arrived this morning so if by some miracle I can convince DH to TTC, anytime from now would be fine dates wise! Not going to happen though me thinks! :(

WYorksLass · 29/03/2011 10:21

(((JBells))) don't go, we missed you.

How exciting nanny, it's great isn't it :)

Good luck for the scan strawberry, i have my next one on Friday.

Things not great here. It's the emergency dentist for me today, a huge chunk of one of my teeth seems to have disappeared, no idea how or when! But it's very sharp and making my toungue sore, it's also aching and gum has bled a little :( I only had a check up 3 weeks ago!
Also my pelvis appears to be knackered so i shall have to see the doc about that at some point soon.

Oh well, in good news i am now obviously pregnant as 2 people have now noticed without me saying anything. 1 was a shop assistant, the other a lady from church who i hadn't told yet.

AmandaCooper · 29/03/2011 10:34

Hey girls well my days of raving are now over, we had a great time but we wimped out of the three day nonstop party action and had plenty of sleep and pizza! Felt a little queasy after my first night on the tiles with a little too much vodka to blood content! Did think of you guys then and wondered how you've coped with non stop sickness all this time.

Watched OBEM last night and blubbed all the way through it. DH went out to get a takeaway so he wasn't complaining and insisting I turn it off. Need to have a chat with my friend to get the lowdown on her horrendous birth - not sure how ling to leave it before calling her, any ideas?

Jbells honey so very sorry to hear that things are not going well. Don't worry about venting on here, that's what it's for. Are you okay?

Jbells really sorry to hear things are so bad, don't deal with it alone if some sympathetic ears would be useful to you, we've all done our share of moaning. Is there anything anyone can do for you?

I am now in quarantine in my hotel room 6 hrs from home, with a super contagious vomiting/diarhhrea bug which kept me up the whole night doing laps to the bathroom and back unable to hold down water! Not sure what to do, as I can't join in with the very important work the others are doing because I'm all weak and infectious, and right now couldn't make it back on the train by myself either. Daytime TV and MN for now it seems.

bebejones · 29/03/2011 12:46

Strawberry - Good Luck with scan let us know how it goes! :)

AC - Sounds like a fun weekend! So what's the news re TTC?

Quod - So sorry you are poorly, how miserable :( Hope you feel better soon x

WYorks - I had dodgy pelvis too, got some semi useful exercises/tips from a physio & a rather fetching support belt! Hmm Ouch re tooth! :(

Not sure how talking to DH is going to go, he's having a pretty crap work week already & it's only Tuesday lunchtime! :( Because he is self-employed so much of our future relies on how things are with his work. It can be fine one day & looking all positive & then the next everything is falling apart. It's getting really hard to live with all this uncertainty!

WYorksLass · 29/03/2011 14:12

Oh dear Quod, being ill is bad but away from home must be very bad, i feel for you.

Sorry you had a bad pelvis too bebe, any tips re: sleeping. I can't sleep on my tummy now, i daren't sleep on my back as have heard that is bad and now pelvis pain wakes me up if i sleep on either side. At the minute i am alternating sides but after about 5am i can only do 20 mins on each side before the pain wakes me :(

WYorksLass · 29/03/2011 14:13

Oh yes, also meant to say...

Tooth is all patched up now. Hopefully it will hold, if not he'll put a crown on it.

bebejones · 29/03/2011 15:35

WYorks - Flat on your back is bad as you get bigger as the baby can push down on the main artery to the uterus IIRC, I used to sleep propped up (almost sat up) with pillows and V shaped pillow sometimes. Also have heard good things about special pillows (dream geenii, or something like that) which might help you sleep on your side. Physio said to me that minimising the impact on your pelvis during the day should help with the pain at night. The only thing I can remember is that she suggested sitting on a plastic bag in the car so that when I go out I could swivel round with my legs together rather than stepping out of the car. Also there was something about a specific exercise using your pelvic floor muscles, but I can't remember what it was! Confused

Glad tooth is fixed!

bebejones · 29/03/2011 15:36

Oh & I used to take paracetemol before bed when it was really bad & keep some next to the bed in case I needed it in the night. That was when I got to about 7 or 8 months though. Joys of pregnancy eh?! Wink

WYorksLass · 29/03/2011 15:39

Thanks bebe, i might try sleeping propped up. Not sure it'll work though as i've always hated sleeping on my back. Worth a try though. I have got a dream genii pillow whic helps a bit, but not enough!
I'll try the bag in the car thing too.
My pregnancy yoga teacher has given me some exercises to do, i just need to remember to do them Blush

WYorksLass · 29/03/2011 15:41

I already keep paracetamol by the bed but try not to take it unless it's really bad.
Tell me about it, it's been one thing after another! Still, at least i am pregnant and have lots to look forward too.
