Wooooooo hooooooooo hoooooooooo!!!!

You naughty thing I can't believe you kept us in suspense all morning, I've been checking my phone since 5am pressing "Refresh" "Refresh" "Refresh" - and then I had to go into a meeting!

You must be massively chuffed, I am so pleased.

strawberry, I think you HAVE to tell employer by week 25 (but am prepared to be corrected)

Im so lucky, my contract finished end feb, so im not working anymore. Will be a stay at home mummy, and have lots of things in the house that need to be sorted before baby comes along, so im supposed to be organising and sorting it all out.

When I was PG I finished work on the 30th June (Due date 30th July) but I had 2 weeks of holiday to use up or I'd have lost them. So I had 2 weeks 'holiday' before my mat leave officially started!

WW, just so happy for you. Will you postpone the PGCE? Is there anywhere you could do it part time?

I am just enjoying a cheese muffin with cheddar & homemade tomato chutney, bliss! Taking DD out to feed the ducks later, it's just so warm & sunny! :o

Quodlibet · 23/03/2011 14:50

Congratulations, WhyWait! What amazing news!

I've just come back from a week in the States so totally missed all the suspense - every time I go away I come back here and find someone's up the duff! Clearly I should go away more often.

Still in bed jetlagged here Blush as had an incredibly intense week and an overnight flight.

How's everyone else?

nannyl · 23/03/2011 15:20

Hello Quod

"really sorry forgot you in my "hello not been here for a while catch up post this morning. so Hello Smile

Agh i HATE jet lag, hope you recover soon.

Im sitting outside in the garden in the sunshine, with my afternoon cup of tea, laptop playing me & baby some pregnancy relaxation music, via spotify, and my book from ebay that i won for 1p at the weekend, "what to expect when breast feeding and what if you cant"

really ought to go back inside and do some washing up and cook dinner, but its just too nice out here lol

bebejones · 23/03/2011 15:33

I'm feeling cross & frazzled. Stupid water company blocked my car into the lane it was parked on & I couldn't take DD out to feed the ducks & run off some steam! Really hacked off! Plus being in the house means I've been snacking, which is really naughty! I know it's hormones & comfort eatng & I know I shouldn't be doing it but I just can't stop myself! Grrrrrrr!

Welcome back Quod. I hate jet lag, always makes me feel rotten! Hope you feel better soon! :)

Nannyl - that sounds really peaceful & I wouldn't want to go in if I were you either! :)

nannyl · 23/03/2011 15:48

Grrr bebe

How annoying... thank goodness you wernt a fire engine / ambulence or NEED the services of one this afternoon. Angry

to be stuck at home on such a lovely afternoon in march, seems very unjust.

bebejones · 23/03/2011 16:22

Just hoping it is still lovely tommorow (although is supposed to be cooler :()
If I'd had to go out I would have been really pissed off! They (the workmen) had buggered off when I parked my car up there at half 11, I didn't think they would be back to block the road off! Even more annoying for the poor people who live up there though! Angry No notice of them doing this either, all to do with some building conversion as well, so was planned work!

I have however made DHs breakfast bread (bran & fruit bread that he takes to work for breakfast every day) and just made some flapjack. So not a complete waste of an afternoon. Plus I am on a mission to get DD to poo.....she is refusing to use the toilet & it is getting a bit frustrating! Prunes, grapes, raisins, apple, orange juice & a spoon of lactulose & tonnes of fluid...still nothing!!!! Hmm Honestly, this child has been awkward since even before she was born!! :o Wink

jbells · 23/03/2011 16:40

Imin a hotel in chester but just saw the great news. Congratulations y wait im so pleased for u :) x

MrsSatsuma · 23/03/2011 17:00

Hooray!!!!!! Congratulations WhyWait! I know how long you've been trying and am so happy for you.

Am I now the only currently TTC-er on this thread who isn't pg?! ....Shock Not hopeful, AF due tomorrow and have stomach cramps. Temperature dropped slightly this morning so unless it's a blip it's on its way down....

bebe you are the original domestic goddess!! Would love the recipe for the breakfast bread - it sounds great! How annoying about the water board, though - as nannyl said it's a good job it wasn't an emergency!

nannyl Nice to see you back! Glad you are feeling better - fingers crossed the few hours turn into few minutes, or not at all!

Quod Hope you had a good trip! I wish my school would send me to the States every so often (not that I think it's a holiday, but it would be nice to have a change of scenery!)

Quodlibet · 23/03/2011 17:47

MrsS if you don't get pg this cycle I will offer to selflessly go on holiday again so that you get upduffed. When I came back from my December holiday, 100, nannyl and Squirrel (I think) had all got pg!

Hello all, feeling much better thanks, jetlag was a nice opportunity to spend a day in bed with DP after a hectic week (actually his first day off for more than a month I think!). DVDs on the sofa now, hurrah!

Nannyl sounds like you're having a lovely day too... bebe your bread sounds amazing - can you do it in a breadmaker?

MrsSatsuma · 23/03/2011 17:59

Quod - you're on Grin

bebejones · 23/03/2011 18:01

It's not really a proper 'bread' bread! It's dead easy though, it's sort of a cake/bread hybrid!

For a 1lb size loaf tin:
1 cup (I use a coffee mug, doesn't matter on actual size as long as it's the same cup) of the following -
Bran flakes or allbran
soft brown sugar
Mixed fruit
Milk
self-raising flour

plus an optional 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon and a few chopped prunes or dates.

Put bran flakes, sugar, fruit & milk in a large bowl, cover with clingfilm & leave in fridge overnight.
In morning, stir to combine/break up bran & sift in flour & stir to combine.
Grease & Line a 1lb loaf tin, and scrape mixture into tin, put in pre-heated oven at 160c for 1hr 20mins (ish) until risen, & cooked through.

Simples! :o

squirrel007 · 23/03/2011 21:22

Wow, it's been busy on here today!

First, huge congratulations whywait!! What exciting news, and you must be chuffed Grin And it's good that you got a strong line too :) My first test was quite faint, so I spent ages retesting to make sure it got stronger!

nannyl I think I definitely looked pg at 15 weeks too, although maybe only to me and my DH. Plus that was winter so I could cover up with layers and disguise it a bit. Good news about the bargain buggy (we're still on the hunt for one!) but sorry to hear you're still feeling ill :( I have never seen anything listed on ebay for 1p!!

strawberry I plan to be off from 36.5 weeks (as EDD is a Wednesday). I could probably work longer, but it'll be summer and hopefully nice weather, so good to be off! Plus I figure it's my last chance to have time to myself for a while.

bebe grrr about being blocked in Angry Hope it's still nice tomorrow for you :) Plus, it's the beginning of spring, which is one of the nicest times of year because there are so many nice days to look forward to before winter comes around again!

Welcome back quod :) Were you away for a holiday, or for work?

jbells is everything ok?

Things are mostly good here - work is a bit hectic but that's because of a deadline at the end of the month. Only 1.5 weeks to go then I can relax a bit, am definitely looking forward to a break at Easter.

mrswantstobeamum · 23/03/2011 22:49

Just popping in to say congratulations WhyWait! That's fantastic news.

Am absolutely knackered as have had a manic day at work and expect another one tomorrow...will have to catch up with the thread this weekend.

AmandaCooper · 24/03/2011 06:32

I read somewhere that women who take a month off before the birth have an easier birth - but that's probably rubbish and unless I'm signed off and in hospital there's as much chance of me having a month off before the birth as there is of hell freezing over!

In other news, my friend had her baby yesterday, a little boy! Can't wait to speak to her!

OP posts:
bebejones · 24/03/2011 07:29

Haha AC - I had over a month by the time DD showed up, and I was in back-to-back labour for 64 hours and had a forceps delivery!! Guess I don't fit in with that statistic! One of my friends stopped working 2 weeks before her EDD & went into labour 6 hours later & had a 5 hour labour & natural delivery! Envy Hmm

Congrats to your friend, time to go round for cuddles & take your DH!!! Wink

100years · 24/03/2011 10:00

I had a dull tummy achey feeling. Thought it was sort of a cross between period pains and a pulled stomach muscle! I think it's all your ligaments etc starting to be affected by the hormones?!

Notify your doctor so you can be booked in with midwife. Then sit back and enjoy the ride. And don't overdo it! Wink

I'm super :o for you & not at all Envy!! Wink

nannyl · 25/03/2011 10:05

Hello whywait
i had like a fizzy fuzzy feeling in my tummy... it didnt hurt but i could of feel something happening in there. bizarre!

I spoke to my GP at pre TTC appt and asked what to do when i get pg. She said (in my surgery) we make an appt with midwife asap (not dr), and then the midwife arranged scan asap, and asks a few questions, before the proper booking in apt which happens (at home for my surgary) at 9 weeks.

Call your drs surgary, say you have found out you are pg and do you need to see dr or midwife.

Other than eating well, avoiding the banned foods, and avoiding saunas / steam rooms / roller coasters etc not much you can do...

oh and enjoy / make the most of every single day you are feeling well and not sick Wink get up to date of washing / tidying etc etc as anyday you could start to feel awful
