Same as me! - the alegbra questions were horrible, but then I didn't do well at school either. However, I am doing S151 - Maths for Scientists with the OU and should do better next time

tortoiseshell · 26/09/2005 15:37

I got 19

gingerbear · 26/09/2005 15:38

Is everyone on mumsnet taking the test? I can't open the link!

PollyLogos · 26/09/2005 15:39

I'm impressed! I consider myself pretty good at maths but some of them were difficult for me. Mind you it is 32 years since I did O level maths

Full house - but then I have a maths degree so perhaps shouldn't boast!

nutcracker · 26/09/2005 15:49

That is awful, there wasn't one single question that I knew the answer to. I got 5 right but they were guesses

teeavee · 26/09/2005 15:50

flippin 'eck! having not done any maths since I was fifteen, I got 14/20 - one correct answer was a pure guess though!

my dad would n't be proud of me - he was maths teacher to a certain mathematician on a certain channel four words and numbers quiz show......!

Toothache · 26/09/2005 15:53

WOOOOHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 20/20!! I loved maths at school. Yes I'm a weirdo.

Carmenere · 26/09/2005 15:56

I got 14 and I guessed a few of them - feeling quite thick now

sweetheart · 26/09/2005 15:56

I got 15. Did you do it all in your brain????

teeavee · 26/09/2005 15:56

no, I used a calculator - and my brain STILL throbs!

gingerbear · 26/09/2005 15:57

Still can't load it. I like Maths too.

Jackstini · 26/09/2005 16:01

16 - totally lost the plot with simplifications and 'to the power ofs'

Enid · 26/09/2005 16:02

18 and no calculator

couldnt remember about isoceles triangle though

Toothache · 26/09/2005 16:02

Sweetheart - Yes.... you should see the post-it note scribbles all over my desk now! I looked impressively like I was working.

Hate maths but needed to prove something. Ended up closing the window at question 5

stripey · 26/09/2005 16:04

I got 19 too. It was tricky though and I did use a calculator

Ladymuck · 26/09/2005 16:06

20, but did resort to pen and paper for a couple.

What standard is it meant to be though - that's the bit I didn't pick up - is it 11+ or GCSE or what?

Toothache · 26/09/2005 16:08

Ladymuck - It doesn't say anything about not being able to write stuff down does it? I mean I don't think it's mental arithmatic. I don't think it even says anything about not using a calculator!

Forgot what factors were.

JonesTheSteam · 26/09/2005 16:11

I got 15 - at least 2 were total guesses though, and I did cheat and use a calculator for one of them!!!!

Roobie · 26/09/2005 16:12

Got 16 with no calculator or pen/paper

teeavee · 26/09/2005 16:13

I want all my old brain-cells back, NOW
