Ahem... its not cheating to use a calculator or pen/paper!! Its more a test of mathematical symbols/fractions/algebra than mental arithmatic!

NotQuiteCockney · 26/09/2005 16:16

20/20. No calculator, just pen + paper.

I'd say it was more arithmetic then maths.

Where was the English one, then?

Gobbledigook · 26/09/2005 16:17

20

Maths is my strong point - did maths AS level and Physics A level (among others of course).

sparklymieow · 26/09/2005 16:18

12/20 thought I would do worse!!

PollyLogos · 26/09/2005 16:24

Another full house - with no English degree thou' so I will shout about it this time .

Cadmum · 26/09/2005 16:39

18/20. Pleasantly surprised as I did not take any maths at Uni!

stitch · 26/09/2005 16:44
  1. got the stupid isosceles triangle one wrong.
stitch · 26/09/2005 16:46

its not a mental math test at all. and pen and paper always help with algebra as it is easy to keep things clear then.
just hate stupid trig.

CarolinaMoon · 26/09/2005 16:56
  1. couldn't remember enough algebra to get the last two .

It's hardly degree level though, Cadmum, is it?

CarolinaMoon · 26/09/2005 17:01

got 20 on the English test in about a tenth of the time it took to do the maths test. Are they really supposed to be at the same level?

Katemum · 26/09/2005 17:19

12 but no paper and pen or calculator.

Nightynight · 26/09/2005 17:28

20 with a pen and paper. just as well, as Im an engineer.

tamum · 26/09/2005 17:31

I got 20, but I agree CarolinaMoon, they don't seem to be at the same level. I did A level maths and I don't think I would have been able to get it all right without A level, whereas the English test didn't need any kind of school study as such.

Cha · 26/09/2005 17:34

12/20 and I am a complete maths dunce. Was quite pleased. Where is the English test? Will do much better at that.

tallulah · 26/09/2005 17:36

18/20 with a leetle help from DS1 (18)

(didn't understand what some of the questions actually meant..)

skinnycow · 26/09/2005 17:37

15/20 for me

ParisMum · 26/09/2005 17:37

I got 16 but it took me soooo much longer than the english one
I still don't understand a couple of them

charliecat · 26/09/2005 17:38

Cha · 26/09/2005 17:39

Agree with Tamum and Carolina moon. Maths was a lot harder than english.
Scored 19 on the maths and 17 on the english. I am an engineer too Nightynight - what sort are you?

bran · 26/09/2005 17:47

19 out of 20, I got the tennis ball one wrong.

Cha · 26/09/2005 17:48

The tennis balls one was one (of the few) I got right! Hooray for me, the maths dunce.

NotQuiteCockney · 26/09/2005 17:57

I had no problem getting 20/20 on maths, but the english one was a bit harder for me ... got confused about similes, and had problems with double-letter spelling (which I always struggle with).
