We've had "out the troll" when a newbie posts.

We've had "PARP at the thread" when an oft-posted topic is posted again.

Anyone got any others?

wow more angels - never talk about other people's clothes (I have to confess I usually check I'm out of earshot - but as with being out the earshot of kids may not always 'work' - but that i have on MANY occasions commented ot friends/family about other people's clothes).

sorry - but I remember threads (and sillyness) just like this when I joined back in last December. If I were a gambler I'd put money on being able to look back through the archives and find similar stuff from a LONG time ago.

No, I'm not an angel, I just don't find it necessary to talk about people within their earshot. So call me a sensitive goody-goody if you like - I'd rather that than run the risk of upsetting someone who's not done anything to deserve it.

I don't think that intro thread was meant to be nasty. It was just Cod pointing out that here was one of her hooter threads coming up.

And yes it was unfortunate, but she apologised and then tried to get the poster to engage in frivolous chat.

I used to post on a whole different board (a news one) back in 1997. Same type of thing on that then.

no hunker, not unnoticed, I had people making very rude comments about an old chat nickname which really pissed me off.

so if it's not new, and it's been going on since the birth of forums (of all descriptions and subjects) why make a huge issue of it?

Why not just accept it's a part of being online???

Bitchiness and nastiness isn't new either ... does that mean we should just accept it and not find it unpleasant? I know it happens elsewhere too ... doesn't stop it leaving a sour taste in my mouth.
