What's the next "make MN unwelcoming" game going to be?

We've had "out the troll" when a newbie posts.

We've had "PARP at the thread" when an oft-posted topic is posted again.

Anyone got any others?

OP posts:

PARP

QueenOfQuotes · 24/09/2005 16:09

I've got it - I know what the problem is - most people 'move' on, and 'forget' about disagreements/falling outs from previous threads (ie Dropinthe asked if we were 'friends' again the other night - and I had to check to see why were weren't 'friends' LOL).

this - starts off with some relevant posts to this thread (IMO)........as with most threads of that nature it went off on a tangent half way through (what's new ) so the last section reads somewhat similar to this thread LOL.

QueenOfQuotes · 24/09/2005 16:10

no you mean fart

WigWamBam · 24/09/2005 16:11

Most of us do move on and forget disagreements ... this has nothing to do with not forgetting a disagreement, it has to do with a discussion on an ongoing trend.

SoupDragon · 24/09/2005 16:11

No, you mean this!

QueenOfQuotes · 24/09/2005 16:12

an on going trend of what - ooo 3 or 4 days??

Lonelymum · 24/09/2005 16:13

Sorry, I haven't time to read all this but I have participated in one or two threads which, as they progressed (or rather degenerated), made me ashamed to be a part of them. I just don't want to be associated with any nastiness at all so I am trying to steer clear of it all. Hesitated quite a bit before even posting here.

moozoboozo · 24/09/2005 16:13

You are shameless Souply. Shameless, I say.

QueenOfQuotes · 24/09/2005 16:13

Perhaps if some people didn't get their knickers in a knot so easily (if you wear knickers ) more of those "empty" threads wold be filled with wonderful good advice as we wouldn't all be on here debating about how we 'great' new members, and help pelple with their questions

WigWamBam · 24/09/2005 16:14

And 3 or 4 days of parping isn't ongoing?

If someone asks a question, we're entitled to answer it. That's all anyone's done here, I can't see anyone carrying on personal disagreements with other people.

I wear big bloomers.

WigWamBam · 24/09/2005 16:15

Don't wear knickers so they don't get into a knot. I'm as entitled to my opinion as you are, and I'm as entitled to express it without being rubbished as you are.

Could someone please fill me in on what parp etc actually means, the context it should or should not be used in etc etc? I have been posting on here for four years, admittedly not as much recently as I used to, and I am completely confused.

Lonelymum · 24/09/2005 16:15

That is shameless SS and WWB!

Totally shameless, LM.

QueenOfQuotes · 24/09/2005 16:17

well I seemed to recall some people, in the past, saying they went commando, so thought i'd better say it was only for those that wear them

Willow2 · 24/09/2005 16:19

Could you just ignore the knickers and fill me in?

I demand an answer or I will deem this thread unwelcoming.

triceratops · 24/09/2005 16:25

I think most people whose posts I have read have gone out of their way to be fair and balanced. Some people have a quirky sense of humour which can come across quite harshly in text.

The posts that I don't like are the ones that say "Oooooh such and such how dare you post that comment on here" when the original comment was taken out of context or has already been withdrawn. People who are very quick to be offended on the behalf of others just enjoy stirring IMO.

But then it is a free forum so stir away.

I much prefer a PARP.

QueenOfQuotes · 24/09/2005 16:28

abbreviated explanation

SoupDragon · 24/09/2005 16:34

Yep. Utterly shameless. And I shall continue to post it until they've gone
