Goodness, we seem to have run out of space on the other one!
I shall assume that we are still in the same premises as for Tea Room Ten for the moment until wiser people tell me otherwise!!

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 12/11/2009 22:46

What did you find down there, Daisy?

notquiteagymbunny · 12/11/2009 22:47

I'm so glad I came back on, am giggling away here.

I have a clampy mincer! Not retro -is pristine Lakeland plastic. I hven't quite got to grips with what to do with the minced roast meat though....
I also have a yoghurt maker

PTA meeting was a success, in that I left having been volunteered for no more than I had planned to volunteer for . I held one volunteerism in hand for when pushy Mum went around haranguing members to volunteer for more things, then volunteered for the one thing I had held back on so she felt satisfied in her pushiness and I felt smug in the secret knowing that I had always planned to volunteer for that thing anyway. Moreover my smugness was multiplied by my having volunteered for tea and mice pie afternoon and therefore the raffle prize getter (ie she who writes begging letters) went to someone else.

Oh, the brinkmanship of the PTA is alive and well in the London suburbs .

I for one liked Spooks last night......

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 12/11/2009 22:59

Hello, gymbunny. Here's your Bolly.

I like Spooks, I just don't love it like I did and am less forgiving of its absurder moments.

Twiglet?

MaryBS · 12/11/2009 23:04

Had to laugh, the thread underneath this one was

Am I being unreasonable "to hate tea rooms" LOL

Pass the bolly...

daisy99divine · 12/11/2009 23:05

Oh Gym you master tactician you!

Spooks I love Spooks - always have, last night was quite good I just thought they should have negotiated with the Russians from the start

What did I find down where MadBad?

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 12/11/2009 23:09

I thought you'd been rummaging down inside the sofa looking for racingpig's discarded twiglets, Daisy? I hasten to reassure Gymbunny that the ones I offered her were fresh from the packet.

Here's some Bolly, Mary. How is dh's foot now? And how are you?

Off to look for the AIBU thread .....

notquiteagymbunny · 12/11/2009 23:11

Oh I always want them to take the easy path too, never mind all this edge of the seat drama. Felt v sorry for the poor bugger at the computer screen getting that email from MI5, and something tells me Jo may not see the end of the series.

daisy99divine · 12/11/2009 23:16

Ah MadBad I was worred you were wondering if I had coughed anything up and I thought that was TMI - I did indeed find some pre-loved Twiglets

I for one wouldn't mind if Jo didn't make it to the end of the series [evil cackle]

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 12/11/2009 23:25

It is The Rule of Spooks that any handsome male Spook will expire beyond the end of the series. So I wouldn't bank on Tariq being around for ever. Malcolm survived for so long because he was, ahem, homely looking. The women, on the other hand, just get shoved out of the way (a la Ruth) until making their improbable return.

More Bolly?

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 12/11/2009 23:26

before, not beyond

notquiteagymbunny · 12/11/2009 23:42

As long as Lucas is there I'll be happy.

MaryBS · 13/11/2009 07:55

Foot seems to be improving. I am still coughing fit to bust

Coffee and croissants anyone?

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 13/11/2009 10:07

A croissant would be lovely. I've made a hug of hot chocolate if anyone would like to share.

Oh dear about the continuing cough, Mary. Have you tried sage tea for it?

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 13/11/2009 10:09

Actually a jug of hot chocolate, although I do find the effect of hot chocolate is almost as good as a hug.

daisy99divine · 13/11/2009 11:51

A hug of chocolate would be lovely thanks and the croissant

Mary, hie thee to a doctors! I left my cough last year, and look at me now lots of physio, a CT scan next month, pneumonia, some sort of "syndrome", stern looks from the consultant, scarring on the lungs and too much fear to tell my mum who started saying "Daisy hie thee to a doctor" about a year ago.....

Can you see a pattern

notquiteagymbunny · 13/11/2009 13:35

Mary, sounds like daisy speaks sense.

thumbwitch · 13/11/2009 16:33

hello lovely people - sorry to hear about sundry coughs and foot problems, hope they're all resolved soon!

my sis had double pneumonia from not going to a doc with a persistent cough - now she has problems every time she has a cold, but will she go to the docs? Nope. Still sits around coughing her lungs up. Her life and all that but really!

MadBad - has MadBadBloke tried tart cherry juice for his gout? V. effective - my friend had bad gout (only in his 30s) and tried it, works so well he doesn't need any actual drugs now.

Am Awake again and shouldn't be. I had a Good Night's Sleep last night because miniThumb fell asleep on his own and I could stay up until a "sensible" time (for me, i.e. about midnight) but not tonight.

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 13/11/2009 17:31

Thumb - He has a list of 'good' and 'bad' foods but I'm not sure whether it mentions cherries. He has resisted going on long term medication but does have spells of pitiful hobbling.

So can we agree that all tea room incumbents with niggling coughs or other longstanding symptoms will hie themselves to a GP forthwith?

Let Us All Learn From Daisy's Experience. Poor Daisy.

So, would anyone like a hug (sic) of hot chocolate and a muffin?

thumbwitch · 13/11/2009 17:42

Ta for aromatherapy waft (mmmm)!

Try googling "tart cherry juice" and see what it comes up with at the top - I can't be more specific or I'll get deleted for advertising but I can vouch for the stuff, despite its expense.
ordinary cherries just don't cut it, I'm afraid.

but I'll take a mug (or a hug OR jug ) of hot choc in case the aromatherapy doesn't work...

UniS · 13/11/2009 18:56

GymB - your preschool has a mice pie afternoon!!!!!! eeek.
I volunteered to do something I like doing at Christmas fund raiser event and ONLY so long as I don't have paid work that weekend.

Many power blips tonight - stormy weather so may do lots of small posts as I read up.

UniS · 13/11/2009 19:00

so not the juice from a cherry tart then ;-(

Off to see who find tea room unreasonable.

Then off to RL Pub, the local Morris AND shanty singers are entertaining us this evening, tis not at the local so I shall have to drive a bit, hope don;t have tree come down on me.
Dh off to work in forn parts tomorrow, so please be nice to m e next week. I shall need some adult conversation by 7pm.

thumbwitch · 13/11/2009 19:06

don't waste time UniS - the thread is about RL tea rooms, SEA started it because she used to work in a weirdy one. Not about us at all.

UniS · 13/11/2009 20:59

Not off to pub after all, tree down on road to pub. Only one road to that pub as its at end of road down by a river. The village bush telegraph worked and I was phoned and warned before I'd even set off.

DH puttering about packing and printing itinery stuff for next week. I've done teh filing, washing up done... so I might just pull up a comfy chair , raid teh bookshelf and teh choclate box of requirement and settle in for teh evening.
Ohhhhh coffee creams.

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 13/11/2009 22:33

Does your dh often have to go abroad for work, UniS? As far as I know, I'll be here every evening next week.

I looked at the tea room thread after Mary mentioned it. A lot of posters were saying that tea rooms are wonderful places, thanks to the free availability of cake. I was tempted to try luring them over here, but thought that might be crossing a line!

It's a very dark and stormy night here too. I don't usually drink the stuff, but I feel a little whisky may be called for....

amberlight · 14/11/2009 09:01

Blimey, that was a lively night! Mellors is busy clearing the moat of fallen trees, and I've just managed to get the bl*dy Aga to light up again. Anyone for a cuppa?
