Goodness, we seem to have run out of space on the other one!
I shall assume that we are still in the same premises as for Tea Room Ten for the moment until wiser people tell me otherwise!!

An 8 by 16 foot shed? That is not moderate. That is the stately home, the palace of sheds!

thumbwitch · 11/11/2009 22:49

am also having shed - we have an aviary now. No shed, no room for one, but a big aviary with 6 small finches in.
Getting MrThumb to do anything else is impossible - now he's finished building the thing, he can mostly be found searching for his 6 tiny birds.

Talking of whom, yes he knows my MN name, I quite often tell him of threads I have contributed to and the weird and wonderful attitudes of some MNers (not in the tearoom of course!) - and he occasionally suggests threads I should start, most of which I ignore as being inappropriate or TMI but occasionally I have taken up his offer - he quite likes hearing the results!
I also namechange if I have something I really wouldn't want him to see but he isn't that bothered that he would stalk me through MN.

teafortwo · 12/11/2009 09:30

I must admit it was hard to read this thread to catch up today given to Amber's cows in wellingtons making me giggle so much my eyes became full of tears. !!!

Aaaaah - MrBeerfortwo and MN... Beer had previously actively encourged my MNing. I think he would quite liked to have been married (and probably the muse of) an artist of some description and the constant click click click clacking of the keys sounds to him rather like a novel in process and thus he felt his fantasy was in someway getting there!

However since we are down to one computer(due to a very sad event involving dd, a glass of milk, Beer being in charge and my trendy apple machine) my mning (and constant e-mailing) and Milk's passion for ever more challenging cbeebies games drives him insane. This is because he, himself, is currently involved in killing Germans (fictitious male WWII soldier ones so hopefully you are OK JM) in some blokey internet war game and wants us off the computer so he can put his headphones on (I insist on this otherwise I get confused and think we are acually living in a warzone) and continue in his selfless dedication to saving us all from Hitler.

amberlight · 12/11/2009 09:37

Oh, a trendy machine made by Apple, not a trendy apple-peeling machine! (Duh, Wrong Visual Image error)

Never play football with the family dog when you have arthritis. That's my tip of the day. It may not be of any use to anyone else, but there it is. And he won, which makes it worse

Why have I volunteered to speak at an event miles away tonight? Am I a complete masochist? (er, apparently, yes )

Teas, coffees, croissants, Mexican fruits all available, plus a bale of hay for the horses.

Have just been to Wriggle's prospective school and it is wonderful! Never mind her; I want to go there! It is fun, creative, exciting, untidy ... everything I like best. In fact the writing they were teaching was so creative that they did badly in the SATs tests and were told to be less creative. They will also support me in my (possibly futile) campaign to have Wriggle back yeared.

MaryBS · 12/11/2009 11:32

Trendy apple peeling machine

I still have some choccie cake if you are interested... a late elevensies?

Hope you're feeling less stiff, Amber!

amberlight · 12/11/2009 11:54

Ooo, that could be it! Just the thing for tarts! (er, ones you eat, not us lot )

Slightly less stiff, but have reached "arrghh!" since ds has possibly broken another bone in his foot playing rugby. And has a migraine. Trying to work out the logistics of this...can't take him to A&E with a migraine as they don't want him being unwell in their reception for 5 hrs...not in huge pain, think it'll wait until tomorrow if he stays off it. Will phone docs.

Its seems to be the time for Drs... DH has just come back from the GP, because his gout has flared up. Has been given brilliant new medicine, but may have side effects in the bottom department . Just what you need when you are going away... have threatened to put him in nappies...

thumbwitch · 12/11/2009 12:02

Amber - if it's broken today, it will still be broken tomorrow - if it's not dislocated or sticking out of any skin, I wouldn't worry about it. He's going to be taking painkillers for the migraine anyway, one would assume, so that will help him get through til tomorrow. Poor Amber boy - in the wars! Have you got any Tiger balm to rub on your stiff bits? Works a treat! (white stuff better than yellow/red - less sting-y and doesn't stain clothes)

Choccie cake sounds lovely, yum - MrThumb was supposed to make me some chocolate and blueberry muffins today but somehow got away with not doing so [huff]. Mind you, he did let me buy some cheesecake from the Cheesecake Shop the other day so can't complain (yes, we do have a whole shop devoted to cheesecake, although it also does pavlovas and chocolate mudpies and cake and things - yum!)

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 12/11/2009 19:23

Hmm. I have seen that apple coring machine in retro kitchen catalogues. It reminds me of the Spong mincer that my MIL had, which clamped to the edge of the kitchen table. (Everything in my MIL's house was old and outdated retro cool).

MadMadBloke is also a martyr to his gout, although hasn't yet had any medicine with embarassing bottom consequences.

Hope you are having/will have a fab time at Eurodisney, Mary - is that the trip that you won? >

Would anyone care for some Bolly? We also have Krug and Veuve Cliquot for those who are picky have discriminating palates.

notquiteagymbunny · 12/11/2009 19:51

Can you keep a glass on hold for me for later? I've been to the Dr also today, and am now rushing off for school PTA meeting. Will be back later as have missed tearoom this week.

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 12/11/2009 19:54

Certainly, gymbunny. We will keep something on ice for you.

CMOTdibbler · 12/11/2009 21:12

My mum still has her table clamp mincer, and uses it to mince cold roast meat. They also do retro to a distressing extent.

Just back from Brussels. Lots of turbulence, and I regret to say that I vommed into a sick bag. It was not a pleasant experience

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 12/11/2009 21:16

Oh dear, Cmot. Poor you. Are you feeling better now?

CMOTdibbler · 12/11/2009 21:22

Much better now - DH had a plate of pasta ready for me when I got back. I think it was not enough solid food and too much coffee combined with the bumpiness that did it.

Just having a quick relax as have to be up at 5 to go to Edinburgh.

PHEW caught up at last! [panting emoticon]

Loving the names - Gatita, that is a great name as is Isla

Racing I shall definitely just have to move and live with you. Won't be hard to square with DaisyBloke "ok, love, we're off to the west country to live with Elliptical Wriggle and her Mum. No, they're great, they have lots of animals and a boarded up bookcase and live in darkened dickensian chaos. No, can't tell you how I know them because I promised not to waste time on MN when I should be working but honest, it will be fun" so there is the truth of my MN. Daisybloke doesn't really know. Certianly not the truth of it. He would consider me weak and addicted. He would be right

Also, DaisyBoy's name is a French A

UniS London doesn't seem to have such clear policy for school. Need to talk further but am inclining to January start. Love your shed. Basically it's bigger than most of our house

Mary have great hols

Amber sorry for ailing family and hope talk ok

CMOT enjoy the travel - or at least the Thai buffet - tres exotic

We get in trouble with French animals because they make different sounds - ducks go "coin coin" for example... all very confusing. Luckily they all taste the same

Hugs to all else x

daisy99divine · 12/11/2009 21:31

Madbad we had one of those clampy mincers. Mum had it for baby food but I remember using it for the dog's food

Hope all doctor trips ok. I went to learn how to cough properly to prevent more pneumonia. I have to do exercises for 20 minutes twice a day. I was a big until they said they are done lying down then I felt a bit more

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 12/11/2009 21:54

Lessons in coughing? shock (which could, looking at it, be a cough emoticon).

I'm now imagining names for DaisyBoy. I am rather hoping that he is Armand, like Molesworth's French exchange, but please do not confirm or deny this as I want to keep the fantasy intact you might blow your cover.

By the way, Daisy, I have now caught up with Spooks in all its preposterous glory.

Bolly?

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 12/11/2009 21:58

Groan. That should have been (which could, looking at it .....

zzzzzzzzzz)

daisy99divine · 12/11/2009 22:01

Bolly yes, my Spooks chum, that would be wonderful

Daisybloke and I went for a swim last night, and came back to the enormous delight of finding Spooks was on, it did seem a reward for virtue! Although not a great episode I felt!

I wouldn't dream of blowing my cover destroying your dreams by confirming or denying. It is a sufficiently uncommon name that I would be outed more surely than my name isn't Daisy

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 12/11/2009 22:15

Hmm. Is Spooks getting madder and madder - and yet more predictable - or am I just getting more impatient with it now all the really handsome men have been bumped -off that I am old and grumpy?

PS Wanted to show off that I know that the French for oink oink is groin groin.

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 12/11/2009 22:17

For crossing through - nul points.

daisy99divine · 12/11/2009 22:28

what's weird is that when you say them the French animal noises are ok. But written down, well, "groin groin" is a bit more you and Mellors on the dance floor or Amber and Mellors everywhere else isn't it

No shame me

daisy99divine · 12/11/2009 22:29

That's my exercises done then
