Goodness, we seem to have run out of space on the other one!
I shall assume that we are still in the same premises as for Tea Room Ten for the moment until wiser people tell me otherwise!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
gallusbesombaubles · 06/12/2009 21:38

Think I posted in Tea Room 2 or something like that and promptly fell off the grid when Sky really messed up my internet connection.

I am from Central Scotland, just turned 36, with a 3.9 DD who took 3.5 years to get here - after lots of fertility checks she decided to make herself known the week we were due to start IUI. After many months of horrid colic both me and DP were on anti-depressants and decided that we would stick with the one!

CMOTdibbler · 06/12/2009 21:39

Welcome in Gallusbesombaubles. Visitors with choc cake are most welcome. And it's def bolly o'clock here, so something bubbly ?

mistlethrush · 06/12/2009 21:40

RS - I just get appropriately cut potato and remove the card at an appropriate stage before it is completely covered... Contemplating snowflakes, but those might take a bit more cutting out.

Evening GBB - sorry, I have been absent for a few months and must have missed you, however, you are very welcome, particuarly bringing chocolate cake and icecream! Do you fancy a glass of bolly to go with that?

gallusbesombaubles · 06/12/2009 21:47

From Urban Dictionary -

  1. gallus besom

Scottish- girl or woman of loose moral standing or Brazen attitude

However I think it means a wee bit cheeky, a wee bit show-offy. My dad used to call me it when I was acting up and distracting him.

Yes please to some bolly! Can I be a lightweight and add some orange juice in it? Otherwise I'll start talking in a really fast Scottish accent

MadBadandCoveredinTinsel · 06/12/2009 21:48

Welcome, gallusbesombaubles. It's always good to see new faces here, especially when they come bearing cake and ice cream.

But please do explain your intriguing name.

MadBadandCoveredinTinsel · 06/12/2009 21:51

Oops. Crossed posts.

Loose moral standing and a brazen attitude, eh? Better keep away from Mellors, then.

Here's a glass of Buck's Fizz. Cheers!

mistlethrush · 06/12/2009 21:51

You can do, or you could just ensure that the magic of the tearoom made sure that you could induge without the normal side-effects, althougth I'm pretty sure we can put up with most good-willed conversation, in whatever dialect/accent in here!

How old is your princess? Ds is 4.5 and is going to marry the 'princess' in his form... I did think that his friends older sister might have been a better choice, but I suppose he's got time to change his mind.

And are you blessed with just one, or more (you will have gathered, perhaps, that some in the tearoom are not limited to just one!)

CMOTdibbler · 06/12/2009 21:54

In the Tearoom, you can drink as much as you like and never vom or have a hangover (and those in the tearoom who are in a delicate situation are unaffected), and can eat anything without gaining weight or suffering allergies/high blood sugar.

Brilliant, as I am a total lightweight whose normal alcohol intake is one glass of wine a month (and when I do drink I talk v fast), and can't eat wheat

mistlethrush · 06/12/2009 21:55

Snap CMOt

gallusbesombaubles · 06/12/2009 21:56

Blessed with one and sticking with one! She took such a long time to get her and after a few really hellish months and then turning into an angel we decided she was perfect and decided to stick with one.

However this last month has brought out her princess tendencies which I was assured on my other thread was completely normal for a 3.9 year old girl!

gallusbesombaubles · 06/12/2009 21:58

I'm liking the sound of the tea room and its mystical powers!

mistlethrush · 06/12/2009 21:59

...and you haven't even met Mellors yet!

daisy99divine · 06/12/2009 22:01

Welcome GallusBesom - great name! I think you may have had a different posting name before? But welcome, welcome welcome! Here, let me add orange juice to your Bolly = good to water it down, leaves more for us

I think that "WriggleWibble" or "WW" is the official name for such moments - lovely Cathedral - one moment uplifting thoughts, next moment, Bambi. Perfect

Yes, MadBad, I did and still do think of myself as Barren, but I care less now ... it has been said that I am not very forgiving of my own weaknesses

It was lacrosse that was my contact sport, not Rugby. Yeah CMOT and the rowing good story

I second the Log Cabin, can it be my Fantasy Canada (as in all rugged and checked shirty??) Certainly Reindeer, but more than lichen and frozen seal to eat please?? I like Mellors in Fur

Troikas perhaps?

MadBadandCoveredinTinsel · 06/12/2009 22:05

Gallusbesombaubles - I didn't contribute to your thread (or did I? I am exceedingly old and rather dotty and tend to forget) but I do think that princessy behaviour is hard-wired into girls from the age of about 2. It does get easier.

The tea room has many magical and mystical powers, as you will discover!

CMOTdibbler · 06/12/2009 22:06

My picture of the log cabin is more northern Finland - lots of furry rugs, a blazing fire, and Mellors in the sauna...

gallusbesombaubles · 06/12/2009 22:08

oooh fill me in on Mellors please?

Yes daisy I've had a few names

daisy99divine · 06/12/2009 22:11

Finland. Yes, I like the sound of Finland

I can imagine Mellors coming through the door dragging MadBad a Christmas Tree fresh hewn from the iron hard ground

MadBadandCoveredinTinsel · 06/12/2009 22:12

Goodness, we've almost got enough for a tea room lacrosse team. Who should we challenge to a match? I think it's quite widely played in Canada, isn't it? And Mellors could be our coach.

CMOTdibbler · 06/12/2009 22:12

Mellors is the tearoom handyman/gardener/bouncer (in case of unsympathetic intruders)/groom/butler/masseur - well, anything you might need a man for, he seems to be available for . He spends a distressing amount of time partially dressed, and recently has been sporting breeches and riding boots, plus rather open white shirt a la Mr Darcy in the BBC adaptation

MadBadandCoveredinTinsel · 06/12/2009 22:16

Mellors is our gardener and handyman. He is rugged and handsome and spends a lot of his time on strenuous work, such as cutting the grass or chopping firewood for our blazing log fire. Which means that he often has to unbutton his shirt.

RacingSnake · 06/12/2009 22:18

Can I move us to the new premises? Ple-e-ease?

gallusbesombaubles · 06/12/2009 22:20

ooooooh I like the sound of Mellors! Does he look like anyone in particular or can he be whoever we want him to be?

CMOTdibbler · 06/12/2009 22:23

I think it is all yours Racing

Mellors is just as you would like him. I think of him as rather Colin Firth myself.

We have some cardboard cutouts (life size) of George Clooney and Wesley Snipes somewhere around too. Perhaps they will reemerge in the moving process.

RacingSnake · 06/12/2009 22:23

I did it! (I think) Come with me out into the snowy night!
