Welcome aboard.

The first rule of the tea room is - No fisticuffs.
The second rule is - Put the kettle on and lets have a Brew or open a bottle of Wine if its that time of day. Pull a sofa and relax. Parents of one, more (or less) children are welcome to hop on board and chat about anything and nothing. Introduce yourself if new and if you name change give us clue please.

Must go get JB from preschool. Will be back.

Thanks all!

I'll find the Google image later :o

Oh rats, now I'm worried I may have contributed to your feelings of restriction too by joking about your oversharing! Blush - but I was only joking, I promise - and you should always feel that you can talk to us about anything (so long as it isn't TOO graphic). Apologies anyway and Thanks to say sorry.

I did laugh at the broken-arse, but also at this bit:
"I didn't want to shove it in anyone's face in the Tea Room." when talking about your ladybits! Grin i think we can ALL agree we don't want your ladybits shoved in anyone's faces (although Mellors might think differently Wink)

So - didn't see the thread cos of being asleep - UniS seems to know what it was about but I'm still slightly mystified but it sounds like your bits are getting sore from cheapo loo roll - is that abuot right?

Thumbwitch · 09/11/2011 21:53

OH scout - your proud mummy moment seems to have got a bit lost so well done to TS for being so good and uncomplaining!

I have a small proud mummy moment of my own: miniThumb went for his first dental appt yesterday (yes I know he should have gone before but hey) and he was so good at doing what the dentist asked, no whinging at all - and he got a clean bill of health for his teeth (and I got a pat on the head for doing good work with the cleaning) - so all went very well!

Jacksmania · 09/11/2011 22:35

Congratulations on miniThumb's clean bill of dental health!

You're slightly off the mark wrt the deleted thread but don't worry about it, it's been pulled and let's let it rest in pieces peace.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/11/2011 23:34

Phew. That's two baskets of ironing done.

::examines wrists for signs of ironing-related RSI::

Good night all!

amberlight · 10/11/2011 08:40

JM, eek and heck re threads. Yup, it can be a bit like the Wild West out there

As someone who overshares continually, I just hope that people learn not to read it.

mistlethrush · 10/11/2011 09:24

I have yet to see any tearoomer overshare. Unless its on the cake front. Or perhaps me on the mc/school issues (which are still going worryingly well!!!)

JM, we know you've had issues - and we're there to hold a hand when required, don't think that you have to brave other scarier parts of the board to get some feedback, I'm sure that anyone not wanting to read will stop if you put a disclaimer at the top of the post or something.

Mc went to the Dentist on Monday. It was the first time he's had the full works with the chair going back and up, light on and air pressure blowing teeth (he laughed as it ticked). He's to go and get his new molars coated by the hygeinist, but we can't get an appointment afterschool until the end of Jan believe it or not.

Hot cinnamon toast with tea?

amberlight · 10/11/2011 09:36

Yes please. V naffed off at the mo - at home with another nosebleed. Seeing nice GP this afternoon. I've managed to work through everything so far but having meetings and driving long distances with nosebleeds isn't possible. They have got to get this fixed somehow.

mistlethrush · 10/11/2011 10:15

No, I can sympathise with the nose bleed issue - everynow and then I have a tendency to get a whole load - and blowing nose when I've got a cold is normally not good (Sudafed is good though (as long as I make sure its the plain one not the one with paracetamol too)).

I got them when I was pregnant too.

Amber, concert coming up, last Sunday in the month, in the afternoon, at a Town Hall near you. Not at the same time as the concert in the evening, despite the publicity from said venue.

amberlight · 10/11/2011 12:06

oooo, that sounds good re concert, MT!

Scout19075 · 10/11/2011 12:06

Brew anyone?

Yay for small boy's bravery at trips to dentist.

Boo to amber's nosebleed. Blurgh.

Toddler decided to shock me with another complete sentence (in proper context) this morning.

I really should be productive (we leave around 6:30 am tomorrow) but after yesterday's marathon day I'm exhausted.

mistlethrush · 10/11/2011 13:41

Amber - can you track it down from the obtuse information above? Orchestral. Haven't a clue what we're playing - opened the envelope of music but only to confirm the dates and times of rehearsals Blush

UniS · 10/11/2011 14:59

sorry for confusing people. yes I had read teh start of JMs later deleted thread. Hadn't realised it was you till you mentioned it here tho JM. Nuff said. end of topic.

I did my 1st morning of TA , removed one wasp from classroom, counted children a few times, sat next to emergency door on coach , counted footballs, sat and watched children doing sports thing all morning. Counted certificates, counted children, consoled child who had lost treasured possession through carelessness. Checked coach for left behind stuff ( or children). I suspect they won;t all be that easy.

Morning all. Gotta run, get DS ready for preschool and myself for work. This cold is rotten. I almost called everyone and canceled but the hassle of dealing with people who put guilt trips on and then rescheduling them was more than I could face. So I'm just going to drug myself and get through today, and then tomorrow is a day off, as is Saturday. Will be back later.

amberlight · 10/11/2011 15:28

I can indeed! Smile

Scout19075 · 10/11/2011 19:01

Small boys are slippery when they're wet and covered in J&J soap. Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/11/2011 19:57

Oooh, what did Toddler say, Scout (unless it's too identifying)?

Scout19075 · 10/11/2011 20:07

Shouldn't be -- and anything that is I'll change appropriately.

We went to Boots this morning and on the way back to the car I said "Toddler, we're going to Guiding Village to drop off this picture and some other bits-n-pieces." I didn't mention that we were going to MrsGuider's because she wasn't going to be home (was dropping picture and supplies off to her husband.) Drove to Village with TS in the backseat, quietly watching the world go by. As we pulled up to Mrs Guiders house TS said loudly and clearly "Mrs Guider house." (He didn't say Guider but the first letter of her last name since that's what we call her. She has the same first letter of her surname as I do.) Almost slammed on the brake as I whipped around and grinned at him with my mouth hanging open. He's only ever said her name as a repeat and he's never said "house" before.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/11/2011 20:11

Aw, that's great! Way to go, Toddler!

Scout19075 · 10/11/2011 20:16

I know in the grand scale of things it's probably not a big deal but it caught me off guard.

All of his peers well, the girls, anyway, and it seems very girl-heavy around here say useful things like milk, apple, ball, banana. Toddler says things like "I stuck" and "peas" and (variations of) "I see cereal" and sit, seat, stick. A few others but all not very common (or easy!) words that are only able to be used in very specific situations. Though he knows the right time to use them....

Scout19075 · 10/11/2011 20:18

YAY for UniS's first day as a TA. Is it going to be an every day thing?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/11/2011 20:31

That sounds pretty full-on, UniS! Is every day likely to follow those lines?

UnSerpentQuiCourt · 10/11/2011 20:48

::Waves to everyone:: I often lurk but never seem to think of anything interesting to say.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/11/2011 20:52

You know what's coming next, don't you?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/11/2011 20:53

::Clasps Serpent to her ample bosom::

How was Menton? That would be extremely interressant.
