The moving castle tea room touches down for the 29th time

Welcome to the tea room. Open to those with one child and those with more and maybe some with none ( hi dave the trucker).

This time we are heading to the mists and mellow fruitfulness of Autumn in a moving castle with a mind of its own. The roaring fire is maintained by magic and Mellors the gardener handles wine and spirits along with massage duties.

The first rule of the tea room is this
No fisticuffs.
The second is this
Put the kettle on for Brew and help yourself to a Biscuit

Maud your day reminds me to ask, does anyone know what is wrong with a cd player that says no disc even when there is a disc in there?

Scout19075 · 10/09/2011 20:51

I'd love to be able to read a book uninterrupted.

LittleDeerandMe · 10/09/2011 20:52

I think my sister randomly got them on a flight, from the little catalogue of duty free items Grin!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/09/2011 20:54

I am very glad to have spent some time as a SAHM, but think I would struggle now that The Girl is at school and so few of my chums are around during the day. It's fab to be a Lady Who Lunches, as long as there are some other Ladies around.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/09/2011 20:55

And yes, the girl next door has a fabulous all-in-one in Tigger stripes.

UnSerpentQuiCourt · 10/09/2011 20:57

LittleDeer, try the cleaner!

LittleDeerandMe · 10/09/2011 20:57

I can read during the day while LittleDeer plays but I do have to answer questions about every five seconds. (Along the lines of 'which is bigger a triceratops or a stegosaurus? Only for my answer to be disputed Hmm). So I mostly read at night. Dh pretty much lives in Dublin, and its going to be even worse from this week on Sad Sad so I have evenings all to myself once LittleDeer goes to sleep.

Sorry Serpent Sad. I have at various points over the last nearly 5 years wanted to be a sahm, but at just as many points wanted to be a working mom. I think my brain just tries to make it so that I can never be totally happy as I want to mutually exclusive things!

LittleDeerandMe · 10/09/2011 20:58

Sorry, I mean 'two mutually exclusive things' Blush

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/09/2011 20:58

There are loads on Ebay, Scout

Scout19075 · 10/09/2011 21:00

I love being a SAHM. It's a bit lonely sometimes as I've struggled to make friends in my town. But I wouldn't trade being home with Toddler for anything.

LittleDeerandMe · 10/09/2011 21:00

Serpent - I tried a type of cleaner. It was a cd you were supposed to play, but of course it wouldn't even play to be able to do its cleaning as it just said no disc Confused

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/09/2011 21:00

The word to search for is onesie (thanks to girl next door for that info).

UniS · 10/09/2011 21:02

evening all. was out at a V god gig last night. very informal, full house but only about 50 people there. tottal accoustic harmonica, melodeon and guitar.

be gentle with me, I hurt. fell off my uni at speed on a training ride. brusied knees, R gashed als. bruised and grazed both elbows, brusied and grazed chin. brain a bit rattled, and i was only 100 yrs from my finish. DOH. I ws going a bit fast on a smooth slightly down hill track, lost it big time. hope thechin stops weeping before scol on mon. don;t like this plaster on chin look.

I'm confuseed about who meandlittledear was?

MT- unmarked number line = a line that he puts numbers on him self and makes appropriate marks/ gas for the question. So- for 12 -2 he might mark 12, take 2 "hops" left and lable them 11 and 10. or for 22-10 marke 22, also 20, lso 10 in relevent places. he knows 22 is 2 more than 20, take a big hop back( the 10) and "knw" that it will land 2 more 10 which is 12. does that make any sence? last years teacher explained numberlines in great depth to parents at a " how school teach maths session".

OUCH! Unis!!! Would Wine help?

LittleDeerandMe · 10/09/2011 21:09

UniS - I am the one living in Ireland! And strangely happily living in Ireland right now!

LittleDeerandMe · 10/09/2011 21:09

Also - Ouch!!!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/09/2011 21:11

Eek, UniS! I didn't realise you'd fallen off the unicycle. Have you got someone with you? Would you like Mellors to unbend your bike and gently rub arnica into your bruises?

Go for it, Scout. It's way better than a slanket. Could be good for camp on chilly evenings, too. I bet half the girls will have them, if GirlNextDoor is representative.

UniS · 10/09/2011 21:15

think I'll stay off RL Wine tonight so a TRoom Wine would be lovley.

DH took boy to the libaray today (while i was cycling) for the presentation of boy's summer reading challenge certificate and medal handed out by the MAYOR of town! boy most chuffed by the wristband.

thank you mend I think I can work it out now. all the best with teh new family arrangementss as DH starts his phd.

UniS · 10/09/2011 21:20

oh yes, dh is here. I ws on my own when I UPDd ( unplanned dismount) but was only 100yrds from the cafe at which i was meeting DH and boy. so I got back on and rode there then took first aid kit into loos and did clean up. DH drove us home and kept boy occupied for afternoon.

DH has decided t join me on the sponsered rie and fettled his road uni this afternoon. Says he doesn't need to train as its only 15 miles.... boy will come too on his own bike.

Just saw on FB that an old school friend just had her second baby. Her first is only about a month or two older than Toddler. That makes it close to half-a-dozen of Toddler's immediate peers with new baby siblings. Looking at his pictures online why I am I not more gutted about not having another?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/09/2011 21:44

Maybe, Scout, your unconscious mind is thinking of what you have rather than what you don't?

Scout19075 · 10/09/2011 21:48

Probably true, Maud. I am very content in my decision (except for the odd wibble). I can't think of another for at least another 6-9 months anyway so why wish/get broody? Besides, Toddler is, for the most part, a very sensible, calm, laid back boy -- with my luck number two would be like my sister.

UniS · 10/09/2011 21:48

because you can imagine how hard it would be to dd a newborn to the time you are enjoying with tS
