Tea room 22- A Farmhouse kitchen, anyone for a cuppa?

UniS · 24/01/2011 14:47

Welcome to the 22nd incarnation of the tea room. This time we are watching for spring from a cosy farmhouse kitchen. There is an aga for baking virtual cakes and an inglenook with toasty fire and settles to rest weary bones on. The distressed chintz sofa and footstool have arrived safe and sound and the priest hole is around here somewhere. On the Window sill is an aspidistra its pot surrounded by a hand holding circle of nearly naked mohawk babies, they have placards and a brazier.

Outside in the surrounding fields can be found the tea room horses, Earl and Lady Grey, also a herd of bison AND a Ha Ha to keep the bishops from invading.

Usual rules apply, no fisticuffs, if you want an argument go else where. Mellors the butler / game keeper will supply all sorts of things on request. Welcome Mums of one, none or many to the tea room of requirement.

Well before dawn, UniS, and quite possibly in the middle of the night.

Underanothername · 02/02/2011 21:23

Blast and botheration!

Scout19075 · 02/02/2011 21:34

Problems?

UnSerpentQuiCourt · 02/02/2011 21:37

Just forgot to remove the false moustache.

Scout19075 · 02/02/2011 21:38

7 a.m. is stupidly early if you're not sleeping well and are up 3+ times a night (not always BabyScout's fault, either).

Scout19075 · 02/02/2011 21:45

The last week or two I've taken to bringing BabyScout into bed with me and watch 15 minutes of CBeebies while I try to wake up/function. Then we change his bottom and go downstairs for breakfast. He's very cuddly with me in the mornings on the bed watching cartoons. And now, the minute I put him on my bed he goes to the sidetable, grabs the remote and brings it to me with his bunny and climbs onto my lap. Blush

But it is nice to have a cuddle and he still has baby sleep smell.

Thursday mornings are particulrly hard -- my once a week medicine gives me a very fuzzy head.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 02/02/2011 21:55

It's so easily done, Serpent.

:;wink::

UniS · 02/02/2011 21:58

OH, THAT 7am, yep, middle of the night.

I'm sooo not a morning person, only thanks to DH that boy gets to school dressed, fed and on time.

Same here, UniS. I generally regain consciousness at 10am, even if I've been at work for an hour by then.

Tee2072 · 02/02/2011 22:02

That right there is why I only name change at Christmas!

I am actually a morning person. Anything after 6 I'm usually up anyway!

Scout19075 · 02/02/2011 22:02

I go in cycles of being a morning person and then a night person. MrScout is NEVER a morning person so I normally do mornings every day. Blurgh.

I'm having another "why do I volunteer" wobble.... Sad

oxeye · 03/02/2011 00:05

My view on morning depends on bed time before. This morning I was still working at 5am so getting up at 7 was a bit harsh
cmot I am sorry about dh. Email if I CSM help
where is the Thumb by the way?
Techno it was a sat morning special. We were ready for coffee by the end?!

Jacksmama · 03/02/2011 01:19

Can I join the ranks of those who think mornings are evil and only to be survived with the help of IV caffeine?

amberlight · 03/02/2011 07:21

::Amber makes her way to the window with a duvet wrapped round her, wondering about today's operation and ds who is in tears of worry and just how ruddy unfair life is sometimes::

CMOTdibbler · 03/02/2011 08:52

gentle hugs and love Amber. Life sucks sometimes.

Tee2072 · 03/02/2011 09:51

Lots of hand holding today, Amber.

DH is having a liver biopsy in the next few weeks. Being a man he didn't ask a) whether it is GA or local and b) what exactly they are looking for. Hmm

Jacksmama · 03/02/2011 17:55

Adding lots of hand-holding and hugs in whatever form. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxJM

amberlight · 03/02/2011 18:30

yay, op has gone ok!! Can go home later this eve. Xxxxxx

Scout19075 · 03/02/2011 18:58

YAY amber!!!!

Tee2072 · 03/02/2011 19:33

Whoot Whoot Amber!

UniS · 03/02/2011 19:45

UniS sorts out a very soft and snuggly quilt on teh distressed chintz sofa for Amber, and a selection of haynes manuals are on the coffee table with in easy reach. The NMBS are standing by with peeled grapes when ever you want one.

Mr Amber and fine lad are cordially welcomed by Mellors to teh gentleman's club round teh corner for a cuppa and a biscuit.

How is baby scout and LCT or should that be t.

I think a round of mulled wine may be in order, along with novelty marzipan models. would any one like a http://www.flickr.com/photos/dahliascakes/2311094388/ marzipan frog?

Yes please, UniS! (No one made me a really cool "Moving to Minneapolis" cake when I moved to Mpls....)

BabyScout's fine, thanks. Enjoyed playing at my Guider's house this morning but threw a right toddler temper when I wouldn't let him play with her computer/computer keyboard (I was over there to help with some paperwork). How are things where you are?

Oh, JM, thank you for the postcard!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 03/02/2011 20:01

Yay for Amber's good news. Should we offer the FineLad a beer and a man-to-man chat with Mellors?

And ::stern but concerned look:: for Oxeye, still working at 5am. It's not good for you, young lady.

::sounds like your granny::

Bolly here for all in need.

Scout19075 · 03/02/2011 20:03

MrScout working late is dangerous for my wallet/budget....

CMOTdibbler · 03/02/2011 20:04

Am really not sure what a Mantoman chat with Mellors would do to Finelad Shock
